#FuturesTrades October 24th Tuesday 2006 Trade Log

#FuturesTrades is a private and free realtime trading posting chat room on the IRC Othernet server that allows traders from all over the world to communicate.

Click here for the instructions on gaining access to #FuturesTrades.

In addition, trades posted by members of #FuturesTrades in the below trade post chat log are by traders that do not have access to TheStrategyLab.com strategies except for NihabaAshi.

Fee-based clients of TheStrategyLab.com strategies use the private IRC rooms called #TheStrategyLab and #SwingTradingTSL.

Further, you'll find below the chat room time stamped text log of realtime trades (real money and simulator) that were posted by full-time, part-time traders from around the world and the timestamp is eastern standard time (est).

Also, below NihabaAshi's trading blog like comments, you can read the time stamped trades (prices, entries, exits et cetera) and market discussions that sometimes contains trading tips or insights that are more useful than what you will see at any other futures blog or chat room.

Trading Blog Below is not your traditional trader's blog in the usual blog format. However, you will find informative commentary on a few occasions as time permits and such will contain trading tips that should help your trading as I attempt to sum up my thoughts as I traversed from the first trade to the last trade that was posted in #FuturesTrades realtime trade posting chat room.

Trading Perspective

Profit/Loss Blotter

Today the FED begin their two day meeting that will conclude in a FOMC Announcement around 2:15pm est tomorrow.

Although it was a range day as most position traders tried establishing some positions today...the range was deep enough to produce profits for both Shorts and Longs today...as long as both sides were patient.

I myself lost my patience and it was costly in that I wasn't able to ride my remainder in the last trade into the profit target I had planned for it.

We have a new #FuturesTrades member and he's not a fee-based client of the trading reports. Thus, it will be interesting to see his perspective of the market along with finding out what type of method he uses to trade his markets.

Also, he's one of the first member to replace several other members that I've banned for trying to mimic / copy / replicate trades that were being posted in #FuturesTrades free chat room. In fact, from this day going forward...members will be seeing more messages posts by me at the forum, within the free chat room, on Skype and in email conversations that TheStrategyLab does not allow the free chat room to be used as a signal calling trade alert room and its never been advertised as such.

In fact, I've been banning traders I suspect have been violating this policy since the birth of the free chat room but the problem is that I've not been outspoken about it because I didn't have a sure way to catch these traders trying to mimic / copy member's trades or my own trades being posted in the free chat room. Until then, please remember that TheStrategyLab does not offer two popular services...signal calling trade alert rooms and mentoring (coaching) services.

Do not try to use our free chat room or the trading reports as a substitute for signal calling trade alerts or mentoring (coaching). In fact, many users of the free chat room are using mentoring services elsewhere and you're welcome to ask them for recommendations of a mentoring service...do not ask us to recommend a mentor. In fact, from this day going forward,

I will be sending private messages to all new members, current members and any one that request access to my free chat room about our new terms of use policy @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/House-Rules.htm to ensure there's no misunderstanding about the purpose of our free chat room (its there for you to document your own trades and thoughts about the price action as you traverse from one trade to the next trade).

I'm ok with the bans for those that violate this policy even though it will obviously lower our membership because the goal of the free chat room is not quantity...its to be around like minded traders that are documenting their learning / application of WRB Analysis regardless if you're using other trade methods with WRB Analysis.

With that said, as shown in the trade posting log below...I was mainly small size on the Shorts today and doing some size on the Longs.

With that said, I failed today in my trade management on two profitable trades via allowing the market to take back some of my profits due to my mishandling of the trailing stops in my remainders...see trade posting logs below.

There's an easy solution for that and I didn't execute the trading plan for such.

Today's results (real money and simulator trading) shown above are that of NihabaAshi only. To see his total accumulated points for the month of October...click here. To see results for the months of 2006 and prior years...click here.

Commentary by M.A. Perry (a.k.a. NihabaAshi)

Note: Each month there are a few trading days that we consider to involve interconnecting key price action of different markets and such is represented by a particular type of price action from one of the key markets. You can view the charts and their clues that's associated with the key price action at our key market archives.

<eminitrader> intresting comments from another room --[09:26] <RickAce> Unsolved Mysteries

[09:26] <RickAce> 1:16 p.m.: Jeffrey Saut, chief investment strategist at Raymond James, finds something very fishy about the Dow's record-setting run.

[09:26] <RickAce> In his weekly Web-site commentary, Mr. Saut notes that the Dow, defying precedent, has risen steadily from its bottom in July with hardly a correction. Most suspiciously, whenever a correction has seemed imminent in recent months, he says, "mysterious buyers materialized in the futures markets," forcing a higher opening and resulting in big days for the Dow.

[09:26] <RickAce> He cites Robert McHugh of Technicalindicatorindex.com, who points out that 1155 points of the Dow's 1200-point run since July (excluding today's rally) have been gained in just nine big days of trading: July 19, 24 and 28; August 15 and 16; September 12 and 26; and October 4 and 12. "[O]n ALL of those nine trading days, according to our notes...the aforementioned 'mysterious' futures buyers were at work," Mr.09:30

09:26] <RickAce> In his commentary today, he notes that futures buyers again seemed to step in this morning, followed by another 100-point Dow rally. He also vows he is not a conspiracy theorist -- he believes Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, for example, and that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes really did have that baby. But he says the "mysterious" futures-market action has him and many floor traders "mysteriously cautious," afraid

[09:26] <RickAce> an "overbought" market.

[09:26] <RickAce> But he still believes the end of the Dow's run could come with the end of the fiscal year on Oct. 31, when money managers have no more need to pretty up their portfolios by buying blue chips that have enjoyed solid gains since July. Or perhaps the end could come after the election, he suggests, if those "mysterious" futures-market buyers are politically motivated.

Traders Accounting

As traders we must treat our trading like a business if we are to succeed as traders and as a business. Therefore, waiting till the last few weeks March to prepare for April's taxes is not good for your trading and could put extra stress on your trading during tax month or the months that follow if your one of those traders that filed an extension.. Therefore, its best to be on top of your taxes throughout the year and Traders Accounting is a great resource for such especially if you want to prevent penalties or an audit several years from now.
