Bill Announcements or Bill Auctions

A common question I see asked at different forums...

Are there ways to determine which trading days are most likely to chop (range days) prior to the market opens?

Newbie traders or inexperience traders will say no and that you can't predict.

Experience or profitable traders will say yes.

I say yes because of probabilities. One such is Bill Announcements or Bill Auctions on Mondays for the first hour of trading when there's no key market events nor breaking world news.

Then if there is a breaking world news event...the market will usually over-react and break out of that chop to produce a parabolic trend to only retrace it all back later in the trading session.

This is a repeatable price action that will occur more often than not on trading days occupied by Bill Announcements or Bill Auctions when there's no other key market event for that particular trading day.

Simply, next time someone ask that commonly asked question...send them a link to a good economic calendar.

The middle-east situation over the weekend caused a lot of interesting gaps in key markets. 09:43

I expect the market is a little confused right now and waiting for a particular key trading instrument to make a move. 09:44

Confusion is seen in all the gaps in different key markets.

As traders we must treat our trading like a business if we are to succeed as traders and as a business. Mentally getting away from trading is much harder to do in comparison to physically getting away from trading when its time for some rest and relaxation. Personally, one of my favorite ways to mentally rest is to watch movies I've copy & recorded from the local video store via my Slysoft software that copies any copyright protected dvd's and cd's.
