Today's Observation: I'm still testing Infinity Futures simulator called Infinity AT until June 30th Monday to determine if the software and broker will become one of my backup brokers to replace a backup broker I'm no longer satisfy with.

Also, the simulator profits shown above for today will not be computed into the monthly and yearly real money results.

With that said, today's trade posting chat log is below and it contains all my trades that were posted in real-time along with the trades of other members of #FuturesTrades.

I've discovered a little problem with Infinity AT on Windows Vista Ultimate versus Windows XP Pro09:58
On Vista Ultimate...it requires 2 clicks on the Infinity AT window to make it the key active window.09:59
<+Spartan>  Shorts ES @ 1307.75 «« paper »»
<@NihabaAshi> May not sound like an issue at first but here's the scenario...
Lets pretend you have another window open (realtime charting, spreadsheet or whatever)...10:00
<+Spartan>  Covered all ES Short @ 1309 --> - 1.25 «« paper »»
<@NihabaAshi> If you want to take a "quick or fast" trade action and forget it requires two clicks...
The first time you click the Buy or Sell or Reverse or Flatten position button...
Nothing happens
<+Mauro2>  Covered all ER2 Short @ 708 --> - 0.8 10:01
<+tzar> NihabaAshi, yes even on XP sometimes it requires 2 clicks... it happend to me 2 times where once it screwed me ( had a postion and didnt get out) and didnt get intoa postion..
<@NihabaAshi> Thus, you lose valuable ticks until a few seconds later you realize you need to click the button again.

Thus, problem does NOT exist on XP Pro

the problem comes and goes
<@NihabaAshi> Exactly...comes and goes
<+tzar> but i already got into the habbit clicking like 10 times on the window before i press buy or sell
hang on ill ask my tech support guy on MSN10:04
<@NihabaAshi> I mentioned it to Infinity and they said I'm the first that mentioned it to them or the first they've heard about it.

Their reply, make sure the Infinity AT window is active :(

My solution is to put Infinity AT on a seperate computer with nothing else open on it.10:05

It's a solution I don't want but will "temporary" explore.
<+SR>  Covered 1/2 ER2 Short @ 705.8 --> + 2.9 10:06
<@NihabaAshi> I've missed 3 position reversal opportunities in which I should have gotten a -0.10 to -0.4 tick loss instead of a -1 point loss via that double or multiple click requirement to make the Infinity AT window active :(10:07

<+tzar> got some solution
<@NihabaAshi> I have an "old" active window software that keeps any designated window the ACTIVE window but it doesn't work on Vista nor Pro10:09
<+tzar> Patrick says (10:08 AM):

there is an option in the properties called auto focus which is supposed to make the window active once you put you mouse over it without clicking
<@NihabaAshi> Thanks tzar...let me try to set that up right now.
<+tzar> let me know if it works, i will try it as well

i prefer to use the "center" button
manually
especially if you have to move orders manually over the DOM, autofocus makes it real difficult10:20

<+tzar> its not dome options10:23
<+ItalianSharp> i am surprised you dont have it...regardless of that, i am sure you wouldnt like it anyways
<@NihabaAshi> I do have a box called "Auto Detect Actions" that's checked

<+KN-ES> if i m not wrong TrnasctAT and InfinityAT should be the same11:11

<+tzar> startrader you still holding that long?
<+startrader> just 1, thought i posted.11:13
<@NihabaAshi> I remember one broker (Zap Futures) did an auto update IN THE MIDDLE of a trade (without my permission) that than rebooted my computer :( :( :(

<@NihabaAshi> Just got off the phone with AT (Josh Harris always helpful via the 5x I've called them and no waiting time)...11:24
Yeah...the version I have does not have the "AutoFocus" setup that's available in the live version to resolve the need to first click on the DOM window to make it active for trading on the second click.11:25
I also found out that Infinity AT can be up and running on two computers AT THE SAME TIME from the same account as long as it is via the same IP address11:26
<+silo> openEcry can do all that i think

reverse order, stay on top, multi computers11:27
<@NihabaAshi> Extremely useful considering my family situation here at home with the kids and me moving from room to room while trading on some trading days.
<+silo> and looks prettier :)

and you can choose to display your p/l on your dom in pts made, OR in dollars made

or to not display it at all so it doesn't affect your decision making process11:28
<@NihabaAshi> Yeah...I have that with my other brokers too :)
<+silo> you should try it though... this is most likely the one i will be joining

when i go live

and it has strategy orders so you can set it to trail, limi, stop all your orders ahead of time11:29

and have it perform the tasks automatically
<@NihabaAshi> silo...here's a question that I have about OpenEcry...11:30
Does it show the individual contracts executed in a size greater than 1 contract ???
For example...11:31
a 5 contract trade
<+silo> like.. if your standard size trade is 5 contracts
<@NihabaAshi> 701.00, 701.10, 701.00, 701.10 and 700.00

<+startrader> why do i keep doing that?
<@NihabaAshi> To see the individual contracts...I would have to go to the website and view the actual account and download the info.11:33

:(
<+silo> openEcry averages it as well i think
<@NihabaAshi> Some brokers won't even show the average...11:34
<+silo> well
<@NihabaAshi> They would only show the last contract execution price
<+silo> you can see each individual trade
time, price
<+Spartan>  Shorts ER2 @ 701 «« paper »» 11:35

<@NihabaAshi> Yeah...I'm talking about the main window too

Anyways...thanks for the info.11:36

I'll let you knwo when I test OpenEcry
<+silo> check out their website
the platform is just amazing
so pretty and straightforward
and at the same time, so versatile
<@NihabaAshi> Will be closing one of my accounts next week to make room for the new backup broker.
<+silo> try it out.... demo, and let me know what yo uthink11:37
and check out their web site
it has videos that show you each part of their platform
and what it is capable of
<@NihabaAshi> Today is my last day on Infinity...will make room for OpenEcry tomorrow
<+silo> it even has a function to print out your daily performance via text, pdf, or printer... with all the stats... trades. account info
<+pat255> N testing diff brokers ?11:38
<@NihabaAshi> No
<+startrader> openecry has been stable since march, no outages at all since a major upgrade.
<+silo> and you can link different accounts together... and trade them all as if you're trading one account11:39
and you can pre-set all the contract sizes for each account...
for example... smaller account with only 1 contract
big account with 5 contracts
medium account with 2 contracts
and when yo utrade .... it will factor in all that
<@NihabaAshi> silo...I know what they offer.11:40
<+silo> yeah the had problems before when they first opened business... they figured out it was a problem due to firewalls
<+startrader> Call and get a good commission from Rick himself before the deal closes if you are interested.
<@NihabaAshi> What I'm interested is in the problems I discover via my own personal trading style.
<+silo> startrader: even if my size is small?

like 1-2 contracts?
<+startrader> He used to take calls, he used to answer the phone. Have a feeling not anymore. He will take a call I am sure.11:41
<+silo> but the better offers are probably only for people that trade bigger size i'm sure

:)
<+startrader> You dcan always do better than the posted rates.11:42
<+silo> price is negotiable ;0

<@NihabaAshi> You can always negotiate the rates when your frequency of trading changes.

<+silo> and what's the problem?
<+startrader> i quit tiping.
<@NihabaAshi> My WRB exits has priority and I need to be more careful witht he auto exits.11:47
<+silo> :P
why nto set the trailing stop to breakeven stop
and just exit at wrb manually
<@NihabaAshi> Problem still remains

That's the point...manual WRB exit11:48
<+silo> i'm just saying by setting trailing stop to breakeven stop.... it will occur at least a little less
<@NihabaAshi> Auto exit is faster than my manual exit :(
<+silo> giving you more chances to do the manual exit
<@NihabaAshi> silo...it doesn't...I've tested 8 years of data awhile ago about such.

It only causes less profits by dropping it down from 2 - 3 tick profit to breakeven11:49

Solution is the be better at the manual exits.

That solution works extremely well when properly done
