Are these zones determined by mathmatical calculation or by observation of the charts?
Hi yrogerg,
Thanks for joining the forum. WRBs themselves can be determine by mathematical calculation (software codes) or by observation. In contrast, WRB S/R Zones are objective rule base but determine only via observation.
Thus, some clients use codes to auto identify the WRBs and then they use observation via the objective rules from the tutorial chapters to determine which WRBs will qualify as WRB S/R Zones. For example, I've attached below a chart that was posted by one client that shows what a special type of WRB from tutorial chapter 1 looks like via his code in TradeStation. His particular code puts a
checkered line in the WRB interval that from the interval close to open.
I'm not a coder and clients that use the codes that was shared by another client...do so at their own risk but from what I can tell...most of the codes are accurate when identifying whatever type of WRB they're interested in (the identified WRB in the attached chart are what's called a WRB Hidden GAP as discussed in tutorial chapter 1).
