#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies.

This is not a signal calling chat room nor is the chat room designed to be educational. #FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day. Yet, you will see members providing useful trading tips that may or may not help with your trading.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets as long as they do not violate our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy.

Thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and it's highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trading tips not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books.

[09:38] <@wrbtrader> Another blast out of the gate but this one is different in comparison to yesterday's blast.
[09:38] <@wrbtrader> The one yesterday had a key resistance zone "far above" it.
[09:38] <+werner> indd
[09:39] <mo2t> gm all
[09:39] <@wrbtrader> Today's resistanze area is around 645.50
[09:41] <+werner> bbl
[09:42] <rickf> gm
[09:48] <+jbuch> Shorts ES @ 1119
[09:50] <@wrbtrader> TF testing that resistance zone a lot
[09:52] <@wrbtrader> Shorts TF @ 644.30 -> small size
[09:52] <@wrbtrader> 3 only
[09:52] <@wrbtrader> got a little sidetracked around 645.00
[09:52] <@wrbtrader> Would have love to get short around 645
[09:52] <@wrbtrader> :(
[09:53] <+jbuch> Covered all ES Short @ 1117.75 --> + 1.25
[09:57] <@wrbtrader> Covered all TF Short @ 645.50 --> - 1.2
[09:57] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 645.80 -> medium size
[09:57] <@wrbtrader> 5 only
[09:57] <@wrbtrader> breakout of the 645.50 area
[09:58] <@wrbtrader> Oil and Gold helping a little.
[09:58] <@wrbtrader> Wish they were there together when I was Short :(
[09:59] <+jbuch> Long ES @ 1119.75
[09:59] <@wrbtrader> Overall...still a low volatility open
[10:00] <@wrbtrader> If this retraces to far back into that low volatility...it could be a tough trading morning and I'll immediately reduce my overall position size to manage the increased risk.
[10:02] * +rickf saw interesting comment this morning - this week marks 1 year since 'the bottom' ... with a warning to be on-guard for long-term tax selling of equities in the coming weeks by funds
[10:02] <+jbuch> got a impatiant there anfd got a crpapy entry as a result
[10:02] <+rickf> not to mention the fact we're hitting strong resistance on anyway from a technical view
[10:03] <@wrbtrader> Exited TF Long @ 646.00 --> + 0.2
[10:03] <@wrbtrader> Holding 2 contract remainders
[10:04] <@wrbtrader> reducing the risk
[10:04] <screenstruck> no juice
[10:05] <@wrbtrader> Yep...several key markets stuck in their own trading range.
[10:05] <+jbuch> Exited all ES Long @ 1119.5 --> - 0.25
[10:05] <@wrbtrader> It's rare for the Eminis to break free when that happens
[10:07] <@wrbtrader> Exited all TF Long @ 645.00 --> - 0.8
[10:11] <+codehead> NQ divergence and weak macd on that new high
[10:12] <+codehead> getting a little of that selling look now
[10:12] <+jbuch> maybe double top
[10:15] <@wrbtrader> Shorts TF @ 643.80 -> small size
[10:15] <@wrbtrader> 2 only
[10:16] <@wrbtrader> Boys...I'm officially calling it a range :)
[10:17] <@wrbtrader> TF looks to be content to stay between 646 - 644
[10:17] <@wrbtrader> Covered all TF Short @ 644.30 --> - 0.5
[10:18] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 644.70 -> small size
[10:18] <@wrbtrader> 3 only
[10:20] <@wrbtrader> A position reversal would have saved several ticks :(
[10:20] <+werner> i dont like the price action ...i sit on my hands
[10:21] <@wrbtrader> If TF can stay about the 645 price area...that mid price of the 646 - 644 range...
[10:21] <@wrbtrader> I'm ok but currently I have no help from other key markets :(
[10:25] <@wrbtrader> Exited all TF Long @ 645.30 --> + 0.6
[10:27] <@wrbtrader> sidelined...watching for awhile. This 2 point range is losing more of its volatility.
[10:32] <TLancer> Long TF @ 645.5
[10:32] <+TLancer> 2
[10:33] <+TLancer> Exited 1/2 TF Long @ 646.2 --> + 0.7
[10:35] <+TLancer> Exited Remainder TF Long @ 645.6 --> + 0.1
[10:37] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 646.70 -> small size
[10:37] <@wrbtrader> 2 only
[10:37] <@wrbtrader> intuition
[10:37] <@wrbtrader> first one of the day
[10:38] <@wrbtrader> only fear is that it'll easily get sucked back into that 646 - 644 range because it's a range of low volatility (a magnet)
[10:40] <@wrbtrader> :(
[10:42] <@wrbtrader> Exited all TF Long @ 647.00 --> + 0.3
[10:42] <+TLancer> i waited too long to get into this up move & didn't offer enough room for safe breathing of the retracements :(
[10:42] <@wrbtrader> That's a "lack of patience" exit
[10:42] <+jbuch> tlancer welcome to the live and in color world :)
[10:43] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...patience problems show their face after trading a few times in range.
[10:46] <+TLancer> we got an initial supprting move from gc & cl, & then it faded & I didn't pull the trigger 644 area & waited for 645.5 reconfirm, but had to play it tight
[10:48] <+rickf> bbl
[10:52] <@wrbtrader> Sometimes on days like this I wish I had one of those green astro turf with a hole in it for golfing (putting) in my office.
[10:52] <+screenstruck> yeah... I am done for day
[10:52] <+screenstruck> and without daily goal
[10:52] <@wrbtrader> :(
[10:52] <+screenstruck> dont trade beyond 11
[10:55] <+jbuch> Long ES @ 1120.25
[10:56] <@wrbtrader> Eurofx 6E and Forex EurUsd retracing that price decline that started around 0915am est
[10:57] <+jbuch> Exited all ES Long @ 1120.25 --> 0
[10:59] <+jbuch> hmmm
[11:00] <+jbuch> 1 tick above then it fails
[11:01] <+jbuch> just noticed everyones comments up above
[11:01] <+jbuch> absolutly beautiful here today think I will tune up my mountain bike and go for a ride
[11:04] <@X> #FuturesTrades Purpose -> Members use this room to document (trade journal) their trades and thoughts from one trade to the next trade because it provides critical information they can't get from broker statements nor statistics. [11:10] <+jbuch> Long ES @ 1120.25
[11:11] <+jbuch> run be free
[11:14] <+jbuch> Exited all ES Long @ 1121.75 --> + 1.5
[11:14] <+jbuch> gonna regret that
[11:15] <@wrbtrader> I think its a great exit except for the fact Emini ES still has some support from other key markets
[11:15] <+codehead> dam jb, you are good about getting back in there, wtg
[11:15] <+jbuch> yeah range days hard to trusta break out
[11:16] <+jbuch> thanks'
[11:16] <@wrbtrader> Geeesh...as soon as I said Eurofx was doing good in it's retracement back upwards...
[11:16] <@wrbtrader> It went south again :)
[11:18] <+jbuch> lucky fill ther never went past
[11:21] <+codehead> weak, divergent macd on the NQ hod retest
[11:22] <+codehead> see what happens at 1854
[11:27] <+codehead> hm, tick extreme on that, but not much movement
[11:28] <+codehead> again
[11:34] <Fleneer> looks like YM gonna test the HOD intraday double top at 10447
[11:37] <+jbuch> cnbc just said the market pulled back as a result of an interview that they aired
[11:37] <+jbuch> what a joke
[11:38] <@wrbtrader> Maria once explained why some reports on the price action is LATE...
[11:39] <@wrbtrader> She said they get stuff in a specific order they must read through and when you throw in the commercials...
[11:39] <@wrbtrader> By the time the read the info...it's old in relation to the price action.
[11:39] <@wrbtrader> For example...
[11:40] <@wrbtrader> If the market retraced around 10am est and then went back up to new highs around 1030am est...they may read something at 1035am est that the market is "retracing".
[11:40] <@wrbtrader> You'll know it's a script because a few times they may correct themselves when you see them turn to look at something like...something we the view can't see.
[11:41] <@wrbtrader> Thus, I think (good guess) they are turning to look at a "live screen" of the price action.
[11:42] <+jbuch> sure but to take credit for a 1 point dip
[11:42] <+jbuch> that is just stupid
[11:43] <+Fleneer> cnbc = HeeHaw Maria is an airhead. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!
[11:44] <@wrbtrader> That's one of the things I don't like about market commentaries...
[11:44] <+jbuch> yeah I agree
[11:44] <@wrbtrader> They are like regular new channel folks
[11:45] <@wrbtrader> They read exactly what's put on paper for them except for the debates but even some of the debates are scripted.
[11:45] <+jbuch> a couple weeks ago they had a show about if it is a retracement or a reversal and why u should bail or stay
[11:45] <+jbuch> and the market was busilly exploding up
[11:45] <+jbuch> and had been all day long
[11:47] <+jbuch> and it never looked back
[11:47] <@wrbtrader> I've learned not to pay attention to their "market commentaries about the price action".
[11:47] <@wrbtrader> Usually it's way off except for the "breaking news" stuff related to key market events.
[11:47] <+jbuch> but it is hard to predict the next 5 min never mind the next day or 2
[11:48] <+jbuch> yeah i have them on for the auto reports
[11:48] <@wrbtrader> So the next time you hear them say the price action is going higher, sideways or lower...
[11:48] <+jbuch> BBL
[11:48] <@wrbtrader> Watch them closely...you'll see them look around sometimes to see if it's actually doing such.
[11:49] <@wrbtrader> That tells me they read a script...paper someone handed to them. :)
[11:49] <+codehead> ES getting a little toppy look?
[11:49] <+codehead> cci slipping red
[11:49] <+codehead> short term trend slowed
[11:50] <@wrbtrader> Beware of news shows on BIG GAP days. :)
[11:50] <@wrbtrader> Market gaps up big time and begins a strong parabolic downtrend after the open but still up from yesterday's close...
[11:50] <@wrbtrader> They will say the market is up strongly eventhough we see price dropping fast to try to fill the gap :)
[11:51] <+codehead> oil new hod
[11:54] <@wrbtrader> TF still creeping higher
[11:58] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 648.70 -> small size
[11:58] <+rickf> bak
[11:58] <@wrbtrader> 1 only
[11:59] <+rickf> anyone trading off cnbc 'reports' is idiot imho
[11:59] <+rickf> unless you fade it :)
[12:00] <@wrbtrader> I remember when they first aired...the producer or someone important stated "it's a show for investors via bringing you timely market information"
[12:01] <@wrbtrader> Thus, not sure what use the show has for traders if any considering it's not designed for traders.
[12:01] <+rickf> lol .. it is, if you know how to trade it :)
[12:01] <+rickf> and btw i hate the new graphics
[12:02] <@wrbtrader> They do have great documentaries and scoops on problems in policy making.
[12:02] <+rickf> yes ... the documentaries are good, as are faber's specials
[12:03] <+rickf> tho mostly i catch bloomberg for financial news
[12:12] <@wrbtrader> Exited TF Long @ 647.90 --> - 0.8
[12:16] <@wrbtrader> Shorts TF @ 646.30 -> small size
[12:16] <@wrbtrader> 2 only
[12:16] <@wrbtrader> It creeped upwards...now it's creeping downwards...don't see such too often as back to back
[12:16] <@wrbtrader> Usually there's a strong volatility spike in there somewhere
[12:17] <@wrbtrader> Will stop here soon for a mandatory break from trading and lunch
[12:21] <@wrbtrader> Covered all TF Short @ 646.90 --> - 0.6
[12:21] <@wrbtrader> ooops...entry was posted incorrectly
[12:21] <@wrbtrader> 647.30 was the entry...exit for a +0.4
[12:22] <@wrbtrader> be back later...gotta eat to prevent eating one of the kids :)

[13:02] <+jbuch> confusing PA
[13:04] <+rickf> no conviction at all
[13:05] <+jbuch> to big of a gap
[13:06] <+rickf> welp my tscm subscription just expired ... was wondering when it would
[13:07] <+jbuch> tscm ?
[13:07] <+rickf> the street ... real money
[13:07] <+rickf> cramer's premium site
[13:07] <+jbuch> never heard of it
[13:08] <+jbuch> ahh
[13:08] <+rickf> the low-end subscription service ... news/commentary only
[13:08] <+jbuch> do u use that as a counter indicator
[13:08] <+rickf> him? yes....
[13:08] <+jbuch> do the opposite of what he says
[13:09] <+rickf> they have some good columnists but i hate the layout of the site and there was a period of serious pomposity going on between a few of 'em
[13:09] <+rickf> so i told 'em not to renew me last fall and let the subscription end
[13:11] <+jbuch> the only conversation that I have ever heard from him that I liked was when john stewart reamed his ass
[13:12] <+rickf> such a perma-bull ... "bears" are evil to him .... and some of his ideas on why X happens and that Y will happen because A B and C are happening are far removed from reality imho
[13:13] <+rickf> bulls, bears ... they're all traders/investors
[13:13] <+rickf> markets CAN move in 2 directions ... yet downward moves are always 'corrections' thus suggesting the market is only supposed to go up.
[13:14] <+rickf> (that's not a cramer philosophy, just a general market observation)
[13:16] <+jbuch> yeah thats my problem with him and the older dapper guy thay are so biased it pisses me off
[13:16] <+jbuch> makes me think that they r getting a lil something onthe side

[15:12] <+jbuch> Exited all ES Long @ 1118.75 --> + 0.5
[15:13] <+jbuch> at the down trendline
[15:14] <@wrbtrader> Yep
[15:14] <+jbuch> poking above

[15:18] <+jbuch> Nesi must be stuck in a short haven't heard a peep from him in days

[15:26] <@wrbtrader> Shorts TF @ 647.30 -> small size
[15:26] <@wrbtrader> 3 only
[15:27] <@wrbtrader> If this move back up...the recent range drops from 2.2 points to 1.2 points :(

[15:36] <@wrbtrader> Shorts TF @ 647.10 -> small size
[15:36] <@wrbtrader> 2 only
[15:38] <@wrbtrader> back inside that prior key zone that developed into a support area.
[15:39] <@wrbtrader> It'll helped me manage this trade again if TF moves back above it.
[15:42] <@wrbtrader> Gold and Oil found legs again :(

[16:58] <@X> #FuturesTrades Purpose -> Members use this room to document (trade journal) their trades and thoughts from one trade to the next trade because it provides critical information they can't get from broker statements nor statistics. Also, mimicking the trades by others is not recommended. More info about the chat room @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum

-------------------------

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods and different perspective of the markets. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisments for guest visitors. Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
