#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods and different perspective of the markets as long as they do not violate our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy.

Thanks for reading the trade and market commentary log.

[11:57] <+OICU812> Good evening then :)
[11:57] <+OICU812> where in europe are you?
[12:00] <+Nesi> Should I buy? Should I sell? Many traders often focus their efforts on identifying buy and sell signals. The research and analysis they do are geared towards reaching the goal of getting that “bottom line” directive to guide their actions. Any successful, experienced trader will tell you that although properly identifying buy/sell signals is important, it’s not the key to being successful. Instead, the way you manage each trade is
[12:01] <+Nesi> Any successful, experienced trader will tell you that your trade doesn’t begin and end with a buy or sell. There’s a trade management process involved. For each trade you make, you’re making a group of decisions. The way you manage and time those decisions is what will determine the success of your trade.
[12:02] <+Nesi> --Innerworth
[12:03] <+jbuch> couldn't agree more
[12:03] <+jigglyhippo> yup
[12:03] <+mo2t> OIC - Czech republic - Havel, Jagr, Pilsner beer etc.
[12:04] <+OICU812> nice :)
[12:04] <+OICU812> ive always wanted to go there
[12:04] <+OICU812> they say they have the most beautifull women in the world
[12:04] <+Nesi> hmm.. Brazil?
[12:04] <+Nesi> :)
[12:04] <+OICU812> Czech republic
[12:04] <+OICU812> Brazilians not bad either
[12:05] <+OICU812> but i vote for czech republic
[12:05] <+Nesi> Forward Opportunities
[12:06] <+Nesi> What was the last thing you traded? Look at its 1 year, 6 month, 1 month, and 3-5 day charts. Can you see all the opportunities where you could have made a profit? Should have gone long there, shorted here . . .. You're assessing "opportunity" based on price activity subsequent to the point at which you believe the opportunity existed, which means that you're working backward to identify that point of opportunity.
[12:06] <+mo2t> ye we have some topmodels, miss of the universe etc.
[12:06] <+Nesi> While trading, these are the very opportunities a trader is aiming to spot. This and the desire to make trades will often drive the inexperienced trader to "see" opportunity where there is none, simply because the trader can easily envision the price pattern moving in any given direction.
[12:06] <+Nesi> If his predisposition or any of his analysis makes him inclined to forecast a certain direction, he can quickly envision the movement of price in the direction that will yield profits. By envisioning such price pattern formations, it's often the case that the trader will mentally emulate what he has previously viewed on historical charts, and perhaps even had a desire to experience.
[12:07] <+Nesi> And this psychology is made even more complex when the trader begins to find "evidence" in current price activity that supports his forecast/vision and ignores any information that contradicts it, thereby providing a false justification to make the trade.
[12:07] <+Nesi> This type of thinking will cause a trader to make trades when no real opportunity exists. The fundamental problem is that the reason for action is based on a forecast/vision, and not on what has happened and what is happening right now.
[12:07] <+Nesi> Given the fact that forecasts and visions are not realities and that historical and current activities are, decisions that are based on the proper interpretation of what has happened and is happening will be correct far more often. It's critical to avoid mentally creating opportunities and to know when to stay out of a trade.
[12:08] <+Nesi> Looking at the charts again, try to identify forward-looking opportunities, where you consider only each price point and the price patterns before it. You'll find that it's now far more difficult to spot the winners, but those are the opportunities that you need to identify and then appropriately act on in order to be a successful trader.
[12:08] <+Nesi> Any experienced and successful trader will agree that it's very important not to trade until there's a true opportunity.
[12:08] <+Nesi> --Innerworth

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods and different perspective of the markets. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisments for guest visitors. More information about #FuturesTrades @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/FuturesTradesChatRoom.htm

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Last of all, prior to December 1st 2008, archive logs of #FuturesTrades is stored at the below link.
