I use three computers. Two laptops -- one used as backup and more real estate for chat rooms, etc. I sit outside in my pool area (hardwired to CAT5) so I can relax.
The third system is in my office running all trading software in redundency in the event I need to change location within my home or loss of internet, loss of power, etc. This third computer is equiped with a wireless card capable of connecting over a cell phone line. I also have an extensive battery backup system to ensure I am not paralysed because of an unforeseen event.
Yes, I am well equipped because I lost a lot of money one day when my internet went down followed by a power loss shortly thereafter. This will not happen again. Ultimately, I want control in the event the trade desk decides not to take my call...
I use a very simple trade window. Chart, Market Depth, Time and Sales. Too much more is distracting. My current setup involves support resistance and reading price action.
