As stated last month I expected volatility to increase and it did. The result was a record breaking trading month for me in 2009 via the volatility declining consistently the early part of the month without being in a trading range and then the volatility increased suddenly the latter part of the trading month. Simply, my profits are dependent upon volatility not being range bound and it doesn't matter if its declining or rising just as long that it's not range bound.

In addition, my number of trades increased mainly because I lower my chart intervals for a higher percentage of trades in comparison to prior trading months because I wanted to apply the Volatility Trading Report (VTR) more via lower chart intervals although I prefer applying the VTR via higher chart intervals.

The main problem I had this month that cost me about 60 Emini ES points was my impatience in which I took a very small profit on some trades with size instead of exiting at a WRB profit target 1 or 2. It's very important in my trading to maximize my profits because risk:reward ratios are not important in my trading. Simply, I concentrate more on minimizing losses and maximizing profits as an edge.

As a reminder, I'm a discretionary trader (no mechanical system) that uses a rule base trade methodology and you can see each trade with results @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=63.

Last of all, if you need additional explanation of any of the above basic trade stats or curious about other trade stats I maintain that's not posted above...please don't hesitate to contact me via posting your questions here at the TSL Support Forum.
