Post subject: | September End of Month Trade Results |
S&P 500 Emini ES Futures * Total Cumulative Points and Dollars +354.50 points or $17,725.00 dollars Averaging +18.65 points per day traded or $932.50 dollars per day traded * Other Miscellaneous Stats Profitable Days 18 Losing Days 1 Best Day +57.00 Worst Day -8.75 Trade Signals 72% Intuition Signals 18% Execution Errors 2% Trade Errors 8% At first it would seem like this was a record profit month for me in comparison to other months of trading in 2009. However, a closer examination shows that Septermber is ranked 2nd via the dollar/points average is 2nd behind August along with August doing such on less traded days. Yet, I did trade more while sick in September in comparison to August and I had more distractions in the month of September involving tax stuff. With that said, I did achieve my primary goal of reducing the number of intuition trades in comparison to the prior trading month. Intuition trades are basically trades outside my trading plan in which I rely heavily on my market experience to guide me in either the entry or trade management after entry instead of following the trading plan. In addition, I expected the volatility to rise for the month of September and that didn't happen because volatility declined further and that made trading more difficult this month than last month. As a reminder, I'm a discretionary trader (no mechanical system) that uses a rule base trade methodology and you can see each trade with results @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=63. Last of all, if you need additional explanation of any of the above basic trade stats or curious about other trade stats I maintain that's not posted above...please don't hesitate to contact me via posting your questions here at the TSL Support Forum.
