Post subject:  Alert (Back Home)

I'm now out of the hospital and have completed rehab. Thus, I'm no longer under the control of the hospital system (including rehab). This I've been released from them an now under the care of my family physician.

Oddly, I still can not get a good answer from the hospital about why my blood pressure suddenly dropped after receiving medicine at the hospital that eventually resulted in me being put in an induced coma to save my life after I stopped breathing twice. I don't remember that day too much except making a decision to go to the hospital because I wasn't feeling good and I developed a fever.

Regardless, I'm back home and under the care of my family physicians. Their instructions is to rest (I'm allowed to do light exercise and work with some clients) until mid January or February. Thus, no trading for a little longer until January or February.

Yet, I'm still bothered by a few things involving my illness.

1) Hospital still hasn't informed my family physician about what medicine I was given prior to the sudden blood pressure loss after he requested access to my medical files from the hospital. That information is needed because I don't have a clear memory of that day.

2) Family doctor requested a copy of my medical files and only received a "summary".

3) Initial medical files with my wallet were lost by the hospital during the transportation process from one hospital to another hospital where I was induced into a coma.

As you can see, I have some unanswered questions about my medical care and I truly feel I'm blessed to have survived considering so many things went wrong and I had several different medical situations impacting my life. Crazy...all I thought I had was just a cold and a little fever...I thought I would just be given some antibiotics and then sent home.

I was wrong.

P.S. I have two family members that work in the medical field (head nurse & emergency room doctor) that flew in from the U.S. to be at my bedside while I was in a coma...they stayed until I was a full week out of the coma (spending most of their days at the hospital). They were there to ensure I received proper care. The rest of my family flew in the 2nd week of my coma.

Regards,
M.A. Perry
