#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades or market commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

In addition, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets to help keep the chat room diversified...posting trades or market commentaries. Also, if you're looking for real-time education in the chat room involving price action only trading (profitably trading without indicators)...you need to contact us to schedule price action only trading real-time discussions. We'll then have one on one (private) real-time price action only trading discussions with you while you're using #FuturesTrades real-time chat room to prevent distractions in the chat room with other members that are using different trading methods in comparison to us. However, you must first download and learn our free study guide at a different forum @ TSL Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=180

With that said, thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trade information not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books if you're not interested in scheduling one on one (private) real-time price action only trading education discussions. To gain access to #FuturesTrades chat room...please follow the instructions @ FTCHAT Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

[10:48:18] <@wrbtrader> However, I doubt the current price action will generate "increasing volatility"

[11:11:58] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 696.00 --> + 0.2
[11:12:42] <@wrbtrader> This is one of those types of "extreme low volatility" that it can last a very long time due to the lack of key market events
[11:13:26] <+wave1> yup
[11:13:37] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 696.90 -> medium size
[11:13:46] <@wrbtrader> 2+2
[11:15:02] <@wrbtrader> I will not hold this Long beyond a WRB pt1 if/when such appears
[11:15:33] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 696.80 --> - 0.1
[11:16:52] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 696.90 -> medium size
[11:16:57] <@wrbtrader> re-entry
[11:27:13] <@wrbtrader> I'm still waiting for a WRB pt1 to appear
[11:27:19] <@wrbtrader> trailing @ profit
[11:27:30] <+wave1> wd finally paid off ...
[11:28:34] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 697.60 --> + 0.7
[11:29:10] <@wrbtrader> wave1...not really.
[11:29:29] <@wrbtrader> I needed that WRB pt1 to pay for all of the prior trades...
[11:29:34] <@wrbtrader> didn't happen
[11:30:02] <+wave1> but u kept trying ...I give up after 2 losses
[11:30:25] <@wrbtrader> depends on the size of the loss
Quote:
[11:30:37] <@wrbtrader> keep the losses small...you can try "more" times
[11:30:42] <@wrbtrader> that's what I do

[11:30:59] <@wrbtrader> Thus, I know that if I let my -4 point initial stop get hit...
[11:31:13] <@wrbtrader> I'll call it quits for the day if that happen twice
[11:31:47] <+wave1> dont know how u react to TF so quickly ..but that is the only way to do ..keep losses small
[11:32:34] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF, EuroFX, DAX are the type of trading instruments you can't "trust"
[11:32:47] <@wrbtrader> Gotta have a "itchy finger" sort'uv speak
[11:34:26] <@wrbtrader> TF just formed a WRB pt1 @ 698.10
[11:34:39] <@wrbtrader> Thus, no re-entry for me
[11:35:12] <@wrbtrader> had it not formed that WRB pt1 and then dropped a few ticks...I would have re-enter the trade most likely around 697.80
[11:36:03] <+wave1> yup TF etc gotta be very quick ..
[11:36:30] <+boomslang> long tf@698.2 <sim>
[11:37:12] <@wrbtrader> Its not so much about "being fast or slow"...
[11:37:32] <@wrbtrader> Its about being able to "react"
[11:37:46] <@wrbtrader> Most traders don't react...instead...they freeze.
[11:37:55] <@wrbtrader> For example...
[11:38:03] <+wave1> so true
Quote:
[11:38:05] <@wrbtrader> lets pretend you're using a -1 point stop
[11:38:36] <@wrbtrader> You determine the trade isn't working while you're trade is sitting at a -0.4 loss
[11:39:01] <@wrbtrader> As soon as you start saying to yourself this trade is not working while at a -0.4 loss...
[11:39:32] <@wrbtrader> That's when you MUST exit the position and take that -0.4 loss instead of FREEZING and watching it hit you for a -1 point loss
[11:40:13] <@wrbtrader> We need to trust our analysis or not trade at all.

[11:40:13] <+wave1> yup well put ...will keep this in mind ..gotta chew on it too
[11:40:44] <+wave1> sometimes hope comes in and says may be get b/e ..lol
[11:40:58] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[11:41:20] <@wrbtrader> That's why I believe in having TWO stops
[11:41:28] <@wrbtrader> One hard stop and one mental stop
[11:41:54] <@wrbtrader> That hard stop is the worst case scenario...something you don't want to see happen...no matter what.
[11:42:17] <+boomslang> out @698.3 <sim>
[11:42:18] <@wrbtrader> The mental stop is a price that tells you...this trade isn't going to work.
[11:42:55] <+wave1> thks N for the comments
[11:42:57] <@wrbtrader> Usually my mental stop is around -0.5 to -1.20 depending upon the price action
[11:43:24] <@wrbtrader> eventhough my hard stop is auto upon entry @ -4 points
[11:43:49] <@wrbtrader> If this low volatility continues...I'll drop that auto hard stop from -4 to -2 points
[11:44:20] <@wrbtrader> Yet, I keep using the same mental stop range of -0.5 to -1.20
[11:44:57] <@wrbtrader> increasing volatility just showed up
[11:45:02] <@wrbtrader> hopefully it'll last
[11:51:10] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 694.50 -> small size
[11:51:32] <@wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[11:51:39] <@wrbtrader> intuition
[11:51:50] <@wrbtrader> support failure
[11:52:33] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 695.00 --> - 0.5
[11:53:20] <@wrbtrader> I'll try again if it drops back down to 694.50
[11:54:37] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 694.50 -> medium size
[11:54:45] <@wrbtrader> 3+1
[11:54:56] <@wrbtrader> re-entry
[11:55:52] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 694.40 --> + 0.1
[11:56:20] <@wrbtrader> starting to feel like another "endless volatility contraction" is going to show up again :(
[11:57:13] <@wrbtrader> along with getting stuck in a 1 point range
[11:57:55] <@wrbtrader> sidelined...just watching
[12:00:29] <+wave1> wow new lows
[12:01:57] <@wrbtrader> Looks like NQ had a better volatile reaction
[12:02:23] <@wrbtrader> Emini ES still behind the others
[12:04:42] <+wave1> ES is a dog but easy to get out of losing trades
[12:08:29] <+boomslang> short tf@692.2 <sim>
[12:10:32] <+boomslang> out @691.4 <sim>
[12:10:51] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 691.70 -> small size
[12:11:00] <@wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[12:11:06] <@wrbtrader> support failure again
[12:12:24] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 692.00 --> - 0.3
[12:12:34] <@wrbtrader> long hammer line formed
[12:12:59] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 691.80 -> medium size
[12:13:13] <@wrbtrader> re-entry
[12:13:17] <@wrbtrader> 3+1
[12:16:50] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 691.70 --> + 0.1
[12:17:21] <@wrbtrader> it had a small chance but that volatility is drying up...soon as it saw me trading again :(
[12:19:45] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 692.60 -> medium size
[12:19:50] <@wrbtrader> 2+2
[12:19:56] <@wrbtrader> my gutsy trade of the day

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
