#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades or market commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

In addition, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets to help keep the chat room diversified...posting trades or market commentaries. Also, if you're looking for real-time education in the chat room involving price action only trading (profitably trading without indicators)...you need to contact us to schedule price action only trading real-time discussions. We'll then have one on one (private) real-time price action only trading discussions with you while you're using #FuturesTrades real-time chat room to prevent distractions in the chat room with other members that are using different trading methods in comparison to us. However, you must first download and learn our free study guide at a different forum @ TSL Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=180

With that said, thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trade information not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books if you're not interested in scheduling one on one (private) real-time price action only trading education discussions. To gain access to #FuturesTrades chat room...please follow the instructions @ FTCHAT Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

[09:23:28] <intowin> Shorts Emini YM @ 10600
[09:23:53] <+Marek> but stops above 1128 are weak shorts, if we trade above it and we haver short covering, it doesn't mean that trand is reversed

[09:57:25] <+AlgoTrader> you can always reenter
[09:57:47] <@wrbtrader> I usually do if I get the right type of price action for such
[09:58:29] <+AlgoTrader> ES testing 1128
[09:58:50] <+AlgoTrader> got to 1128.5 and reversed
[09:59:45] <+AlgoTrader> if 2nd test will happen, more chance for real breakout

[10:09:14] <@wrbtrader> :(
[10:09:50] <@wrbtrader> 3rd trade today I had problems with my stops (takes a 2nd click to move instead of one click)
[10:09:53] <@wrbtrader> :(
[10:11:22] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 641.90 -> large size

[10:14:39] * wrbtrader is now known as wrbtrader_away
[10:17:42] <@wrbtrader_away> Hmmm...I rarely do trade program upgrades especially if I heard the latest version is buggy.
[10:18:05] <@wrbtrader_away> Also, I rarely do none trading software upgrades on my trading system.
[10:18:28] <@wrbtrader_away> Last night was the first time in a few years I decided to break that rule...
[10:18:41] <@wrbtrader_away> I updated Microsoft components including Silverlight
[10:18:47] * wrbtrader_away is now known as wrbtrader
[10:20:17] <+AlgoTrader> silverlight is needed only if you are using internet browser
[10:20:37] <+AlgoTrader> if you are not using it on trading computer, not need to upgrade
[10:21:43] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...I need it on this system...one of my charting system requires an internet browser to view real-time news :(
[10:21:54] <+AlgoTrader> but to be honest...I have trading computer in chicaqgo on windows 2008 server and upgrade everything each weekend
[10:22:28] <@wrbtrader> I've learned many years ago that if it aint broke...don't fix it.
[10:22:41] <@wrbtrader> Thus, if I can avoid upgrading "anything"...don't do it.
[10:24:07] <@wrbtrader> reason why I'm still using the "original" mIRC program that's about 7 version behind the current versions
[10:24:20] <+AlgoTrader> :))))
[10:24:44] <+AlgoTrader> time to go with time my friend
[10:28:05] <@wrbtrader> In contrast, my home computer is always updated. In fact, it's set to "auto update" and there's always some "important or critical" files it downloads and updates itself.
[10:29:07] <+AlgoTrader> my trading computer has only operating system and trading platform
[10:29:16] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF still having problems staying "outside" of the RANGE or prior volatility contraction I talked about earlier
[10:29:20] <+AlgoTrader> I'm not using browser on it
[10:29:39] <@wrbtrader> Algo...I have that on my backup computer at my condo...
[10:29:39] <+AlgoTrader> nad 2 ms connection to broker
[10:29:58] <@wrbtrader> Only thing on it is the "bare minimum"
[10:36:12] <+wave1> S 1123 paper
[10:36:50] <@wrbtrader> found the problem...now fixed.
[10:37:06] <+wave1> out = 1.5
[10:37:10] <+wave1> -
[10:37:31] <@wrbtrader> darn upgrade went back to "mouse properties" default...removing my customization of my mouse clicks and speed settings :(
[10:38:22] <+AlgoTrader> good lesson
[10:38:30] <+AlgoTrader> don't customize system
[10:38:50] <+AlgoTrader> otherwise you are open to this kind of problems
[10:39:42] <@wrbtrader> A few years back I documented in here the use of a new broker system...
[10:40:31] <@wrbtrader> Discover they had a clicking issue with windows XP and VISTA even though they said they were completely compatible.
[10:41:13] <@wrbtrader> Anyways, the clicking issue cost me about 5k as in 5k in losses before I switched later in that same trading day back to my primary broker.
[10:41:32] <@wrbtrader> Took a frantic few hours of trading to recover those losses and closed profitable.
[10:42:25] <+AlgoTrader> be honest...story is fine until "frantic few hours" on the same day
[10:42:52] <+AlgoTrader> most trader in this situation are emotinally exposed
[10:42:59] <+AlgoTrader> tomorrow is another day
[10:43:03] <@wrbtrader> Lets put it this way...losses occurred in the morning at a time.
[10:43:44] <@wrbtrader> Profits occurred in the 2nd half (12pm - 4:15pm est)
[10:43:57] <+AlgoTrader> dosn't matter
[10:44:09] <+AlgoTrader> exotinally exposed trader should not trade
[10:44:21] <@wrbtrader> Frantic because at that particular time of the month...I was "limiting" my trading in the p.m. trading session for personal family reasons.
[10:44:26] <+AlgoTrader> most likely his/her decision will be incorrect
[10:44:58] <+AlgoTrader> but sometimes lucky :)
[10:45:16] <@wrbtrader> Luck is always part of the equation.
[10:45:28] <+AlgoTrader> on long term...no
[10:45:33] <+AlgoTrader> just one day...yes
[10:45:52] <@wrbtrader> We are lucky to have had two back to back months of volatility increases in comparison to the prior 2 years.
[10:46:21] <@wrbtrader> Hopefully, it'll continue even though statistically it doesn't :(
[10:46:27] <+AlgoTrader> well, volatility increase can be a trend
[10:46:41] <+wave1> y geez volt can be scary too
[10:46:44] <+AlgoTrader> more computer trading is involved in these days
[10:46:51] <+AlgoTrader> and is going to increase
[10:47:08] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF futures inside the range of a prior WRB Hidden GAP
[10:47:09] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[10:47:14] <+AlgoTrader> computers don't have fear
[10:47:25] <+wave1> lol y
[10:48:24] <@wrbtrader> Algo...only the operators of the computers have fear or greed :)
[10:48:36] <+AlgoTrader> well, I'm the operator
[10:49:00] <+AlgoTrader> most time I'm leaving computer without supervision
[10:49:04] <+AlgoTrader> no fear here
Quote:
[10:49:07] <@wrbtrader> All we can do is "control" or "manage" our emotions while trading.

[10:49:28] <+wave1> new high coming
[10:49:30] <+AlgoTrader> 1128 test again on ES
[10:49:40] <+wave1> so true about emotions
[10:49:51] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 647.30 -> small size
[10:49:56] <@wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[10:50:04] <@wrbtrader> resistance failure
[10:53:05] <@wrbtrader> volatility stalling as it fights to expand or contract
[10:54:01] <+AlgoTrader> probably small pullback here, but we should go higher
[10:54:38] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 647.40 --> + 0.1
[10:55:16] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 647.60 -> small size
[10:55:21] <+AlgoTrader> looks like stops are above 1130
[10:55:25] <@wrbtrader> 2+1
[10:55:38] <@wrbtrader> intuition into the price action of prior trade
[10:56:55] <@wrbtrader> If this moves higher...good chance it'll develop into a "creeper price up movement".
[10:57:23] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 646.60 --> - 1
[10:59:12] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 646.60 -> medium size
[10:59:18] <@wrbtrader> 2+2
[11:03:10] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 646.10 --> + 0.5
[11:04:58] <@wrbtrader> Today's WRB Hidden GAPs have been like "quicksand" for the price action that soon followed
[11:05:00] <@wrbtrader> :(
[11:05:39] <@wrbtrader> Although great for profit targets if you're Long (below them) or Short (above them)
[11:09:43] <+AlgoTrader> we got pullback, now higher
[11:10:27] <+AlgoTrader> pullback was to shake weak longs
[11:14:48] <+wave1> y algo
[11:17:00] <+AlgoTrader> right now 1128 acts as first support
[11:19:16] <@wrbtrader> Reminder - G20 meeting started yesterday...
[11:20:09] <@wrbtrader> Read "North American markets mixed on G20 pledge" @ http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/story/2 ... s-923.html

[11:21:34] <@wrbtrader> It started yesterday...I think it's a week long
[11:21:40] <+AlgoTrader> watching price instead meeting :)
[11:22:12] <@wrbtrader> I'm not trading right now...catching up on the "market context" before my next trades.
[11:23:25] <+AlgoTrader> sometimes trading is simple
[11:23:38] <+AlgoTrader> identify key refrence level for a day
[11:23:50] <+AlgoTrader> and trade from here on both sides

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own trade signal methods, different perspective of the markets and different experience levels. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
