#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades or market commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

In addition, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets to help keep the chat room diversified...posting trades or market commentaries. Also, if you're looking for real-time education in the chat room involving price action only trading (profitably trading without indicators)...you need to contact us to schedule price action only trading real-time discussions. We'll then have one on one (private) real-time price action only trading discussions with you while you're using #FuturesTrades real-time chat room to prevent distractions in the chat room with other members that are using different trading methods in comparison to us. However, you must first download and learn our free study guide at a different forum @ TSL Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

With that said, thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trade information not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books if you're not interested in scheduling one on one (private) real-time price action only trading education discussions. To gain access to #FuturesTrades chat room...please follow the instructions @ FTCHAT Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

[09:58:40] <Sidhartha> pending home sales 1 min
[10:20:04] <@wrbtrader> Several respected traders on stocktwits are predicting today to be a range day or low volatility contraction
[10:20:15] <+Sidhartha> yup
[10:20:47] <@wrbtrader> By the way, here's a new link I came across that may be useful to those looking for an "overall trader news source" @ http://www.benzinga.com/
[10:21:01] <+Sidhartha> at the moment feels like a 'responsive' day as market profile traders call it. largely driven by day traders & locals... trying to find some business...
[10:23:12] <Hoff> picking each others pockets
[10:23:53] <+Sidhartha> yup
[10:34:33] <codehead>  Long NQ @ 2400.75
[10:34:43] <+codehead>  Exited all NQ @ 2402.00
[10:53:52] <Time4now> short med 856.9
[10:55:02] <Trendtrader> Long TF @ 857.2 «« simulator »»

[11:13:21] <@wrbtrader> Wow...Oil CL futures @ 113.88
[11:14:35] <@wrbtrader> One more middle east problem and we'll see that 115 price area
[11:15:32] <@wrbtrader> Another serious WAR in the middle east and we'll easily see prices back at the peak of 2008 levels of +$140 dollars
[11:16:14] <@wrbtrader> Levels like that will push gasoline prices at record levels so high...car pooling will become hot.
[11:16:49] <+Time4now> or people can start riding motorcycles
[11:16:58] <+Time4now> thats what i did back in the states
[11:18:18] <@wrbtrader> Everytime I have a friend that saids he/she is going to buy a house...
[11:18:42] <@wrbtrader> I tell them to buy one near their job so that they can walk or ride their bike to work.
[11:19:14] <+Time4now> dont people in congress sleep at work?
[11:19:25] <@wrbtrader> Great exercise and great on the pocket book if the economy goes down the toilet and if gasoline prices soar.
[11:19:28] <+Time4now> that'd save some money
[11:20:23] <@wrbtrader> I have a friend whos' wife took a lower paying job that's closer to her home.
[11:20:33] <@wrbtrader> She took a 10k pay cut basically.
[11:21:30] <@wrbtrader> Yet, she now walks to work (about 15min walk) instead the 40 min drive in her prior job.
[11:21:56] <+Time4now> i'm doing my part too
[11:21:58] <+Time4now> i bike to work
[11:22:05] <@wrbtrader> Gasoline savings, insurance savings and all the other savings...
[11:22:19] <@wrbtrader> They estimated their saving about 12k per year
[11:22:29] <+Time4now> even though diesel is free :)
[11:22:32] <@wrbtrader> That's a 2k profit per year
[11:24:51] <+Sidhartha> I skipped having a car here in central London 5 years ago now... I was doing literally about 1,500 miles a year and the car (BMW) was depreciating about £10,000 a year... not to mention parking, insurance, gas etc..etc...
[11:25:23] <@wrbtrader> Sid...I know it well.
[11:25:36] <+Sidhartha> I figured I could literally get a limousine everywhere I went and still be about £5,000 up by the end of the year!!!
[11:26:06] <@wrbtrader> My step-father use to pay $120 per month in parking fees alone when he worked as a floor trader at the exchange.
[11:26:36] <@wrbtrader> Throw in the 40 min car drive to work and the 40 min car drive back home from work...
[11:26:40] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[11:26:53] <@wrbtrader> That's a lot of expenses involved just going to work alone.
[11:27:05] <+Sidhartha> ohh yes
[11:29:11] <+Sidhartha> I have a friend who's a piano teacher - you can imagine, she's not exactly rolling in cash - she travels to her clients... we worked out she was spending £4,500 a year on car expenses... which for her is like 20% of her income...
[11:30:13] <+Sidhartha> I know it's different being in the middle of a city like London, but I literally wouldn't use a car if I had one now... I know because a friend lent me their car for 6 weeks while they were away.... I didn't use it once!
[11:32:11] <@wrbtrader> Most people I personally know that live in the city (Montreal, Quebec City, Chicago, Seattle, New York, Paris, Caen)
[11:32:35] <@wrbtrader> Most of them do not own an auto even though their in the high income tax bracket.
[11:33:47] <@wrbtrader> I have a freind that's a corporate lawyer, he's lived in downtown Chicago for 25 years...makes 240k per year...doesn't own a car...never own one.
[11:34:44] <@wrbtrader> His office is about 20 mins walking from his condo
[11:36:14] <@wrbtrader> The times he needed an auto...traveling vacation...he rented and that was usually free through his job as a perk.
[11:38:33] <+Sidhartha> exactly... we have a lot of these 'car club' type hire schemes springing up in London. basically they have a couple of hundred cars dotted around London and you can hire them by the hour when you are a member of the club...
[11:39:18] <+Time4now> there is a guy out here that complains about gas prices , but he drives an excursion...
[11:39:49] <+Sidhartha> or even better, hire cycles literally all over London now... parked in docking stations... put your credit card it, ride off... re-dock it... get charged by the hour...
[11:40:00] <Trend_54> he may not own a car but I bet that attorney lives in a super nice condo
[11:40:51] <+Trend_54> wow. i have a voice
[11:40:56] <@wrbtrader> The local Moped shop is doing big business here since 2008 when Oil hit those highs.
[11:41:33] <+Time4now> I wont go any smaller than my 650gs
[11:41:41] <+Time4now> it gets 65mpg US
[11:41:44] <@wrbtrader> A guy down the street bough his teenage daughter a moped because he got tired of her using his car on the weekend and not having enough money to put gas back in it
[11:41:49] <Sambeano> Greets all
[11:41:58] <+Trend_54> if the economy in the usa and eur will hold stable, then i think china and india will continue to drive the demand and the price up for oil
[11:41:59] <@wrbtrader> Hi Sambeano
[11:42:15] <@wrbtrader> Trend...strongly agree...
[11:42:39] <+Trend_54> but, if the usa and eur sneeze, then china and india might catch a cold. where will they sell there goods?
[11:43:06] <@wrbtrader> Even if we find away in US and Eur to do our part...the big equation is China and India Oil consumption
[11:43:15] <+Trend_54> might even catch the flu. depends on how bad the economies of the industrialized world get.
[11:43:34] <+Sidhartha> I think the balance is shifting quickly away from china & india providing the west with goods to being big time consumers themselves
[11:43:46] <+Sidhartha> we will be making things for them soon if we are lucky!
[11:44:03] <+Sidhartha> I heard a report the other day...
[11:44:19] <+Sidhartha> Macau will do more gambling business than Las Vegas this year predicted
[11:44:27] <+Trend_54> i read a stat that said per capita usage of oil in the usa is like 24 barrels per year, but in the china and india the usage is like 8 barrels per person per year
[11:44:53] <+Trend_54> so as they prosper there, they will require cars and more items that create demand for oil
[11:45:23] <+Trend_54> if they catch up that would be 3 times the demand for oil
[11:45:36] <+Trend_54> so even if oil doubles from 100, that is 200 oil
[11:45:57] <+Trend_54> that will be painful
[11:46:22] <+codehead> oil dump
[11:46:30] <+Sidhartha> also I heard the best selling beer on the planet is called "snow"... hardly known here... but massive in China...
[11:46:32] <+Sidhartha> http://www.reuters.com/article/2009/03/ ... 0B20090331
[11:46:59] <+Time4now> oil must have got people talking
[11:47:33] <+Time4now> it even fuels our conversations!!
[11:48:04] <+Sidhartha> there's gotta a sisemic innovation on the energy front over the next decade...
[11:48:40] <+Sidhartha> otherwise things are gonna get ugly in coming decades...
[11:49:17] <+Trend_54> t boone pickens has some good alternative energy ideas, i think
[11:49:31] <+Trend_54> just look at the freeways in the usa. they are full of suv's
[11:49:41] <+Trend_54> what a waste of gas.
[11:50:33] <+Sidhartha> absolutely... always used to amaze me how almost every car in the had this real throaty growl to the engine... you could just tell they were getting about 15mpg...
[11:50:46] <+Trend_54> most only have 1 passenger. heard they are afraid of being in an accident so buy a big suv
[11:51:02] <+Trend_54> yep. if that, sidhartha
[11:51:02] <+Sidhartha> because fuel has been so hevaily taxed here in the UK we are used to more efficient smaller engined cars
[11:51:03] <+Time4now> safety sells
[11:51:27] <+Trend_54> true, time
[11:51:31] <+Sidhartha> I guess the US is going through that painful change now... hence this conversation!
[11:51:34] <+Time4now> or maybe just fear
[11:51:36] <+Trend_54> fear creates demand
[11:53:23] <+Time4now> It's too bad we didnt' learn our lesson the first time
[11:53:52] <+Time4now> in the 70's (before i was born :))
[11:53:59] <+Trend_54> and how expensive will gas have to get before obama lets oil companies drill again in deep water in gulf, off the coast of california and in alaska
[11:54:21] <+codehead> the messed up thing is we aren't developing our own oil resources
[11:54:46] <+Trend_54> yep. codehead. agree
[11:54:58] <+codehead> which might make sense if we didn't give Brazil a couple of billion (with options for more) to drill for offshore oil to sell to China
[11:55:10] <+codehead> that part makes it crazy
[11:55:23] <+codehead> btw, the EPA jsut stopped Shell from drilling here
[11:55:33] <+Trend_54> we can't bring oil via an alaskan pipeline because we will distrub the caribou. what a crock that is.
[11:55:41] <+codehead> because of the emission impact of their icebreakers
[11:56:00] <+codehead>  Long NQ @ 2399.00
[11:56:30] <+Trend_54> it is insanity, codehead. only the usa gov't could proceed like they do. if a company did it, they would be broke
[11:57:07] <+Trend_54> course the usa is bleeding dollars. the only difference is the us treasury can just crank up the printing presses while a company can't do that
[11:57:46] <+codehead> QE3 baby, just waiting in the wings
[11:58:43] <+Trend_54> are you in alaska, codehead?
[11:58:50] <+codehead> no, so cal
[11:59:06] <+codehead> sis is in Alaska, 35 years
[11:59:24] <+Trend_54> there is a lot of oil off the coast of california. just can't drill for it due to the tree huggers
[11:59:27] <+Time4now> long 856.7 small
[12:00:31] <+codehead>  Exited all NQ @ 2399.25
[12:04:13] <+Time4now> exit 856.2
[12:05:44] <+codehead> "oil is dumping because big money playing the crude/brent spread, they said on tv" friend says
[12:09:31] <+Time4now> long 856.3 small
[12:15:57] <+Time4now> exit 856.9
[12:28:37] <@wrbtrader> nice volatility spike
[12:29:47] <+Time4now> sad for me
[12:30:10] <+Time4now> tried to enter, but price did not retrace to my typical entry point

[16:04:02] <+werner> is that ok wrbtrader?
[16:04:35] <+werner> or is it a mis print
[16:07:41] <@wrbtrader> I don't think it's a misprint because the other indexes had a spike too but the Russell was much larger in comparison
[16:08:00] <@wrbtrader> ooops
[16:08:09] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...867.30 is a misprint
[16:08:31] <@wrbtrader> However, my spike commentary was about the sudden volatility and not the actual price
[16:08:33] <+werner> ok thnx

[16:12:15] <+werner> nice ajax
[16:13:07] <+ajax-Soc> samwe realtonship found on ES charts as NQ.....that ES 233tk=~ 377vol/share; 377tk=~610 vol/share, etc all way up in Fib number jumps....so the ratior is the same, just higher count frame is all
[16:13:49] <+werner> :)
[16:14:36] <+ajax-Soc> [13:11] <xtractor> looks like an order of 1000 buy hit at 4pm

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
