#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades or market commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

In addition, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets to help keep the chat room diversified...posting trades or market commentaries. Also, if you're looking for real-time education in the chat room involving price action only trading (profitably trading without indicators)...you need to contact us to schedule price action only trading real-time discussions. We'll then have one on one (private) real-time price action only trading discussions with you while you're using #FuturesTrades real-time chat room to prevent distractions in the chat room with other members that are using different trading methods in comparison to us. However, you must first download and learn our free study guide at a different forum @ TSL Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

With that said, thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trade information not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books if you're not interested in scheduling one on one (private) real-time price action only trading education discussions. To gain access to #FuturesTrades chat room...please follow the instructions @ FTCHAT Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

[09:56:11] <@wrbtrader> The big gap yesterday on the regular session chart has already determined the intraday highs for today "so far".

[10:59:57] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 818.80 -> small size
[11:00:04] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[11:02:15] <elf2> rut very weak off the initial gap up
[11:03:05] <+elf2> i trade rut/spx weekly options
[11:05:43] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 818.50 --> + 0.3
[11:09:14] <+elf2> i found it interesting that the TF yest matched the 4/14 low while the ES didn't
[11:11:58] <@wrbtrader> not a pretty price action so far today :)
[11:13:10] <@wrbtrader> We're basically "stuck" within the range of yesterday's initial big price drop
[11:16:19] <+Time4now> long medium 818.7
[11:20:04] <+Time4now> damn
[11:20:12] <+Time4now> e 817.7
[11:22:47] <@wrbtrader> volatility spike
[11:23:09] <@wrbtrader> not big but big enough in comparison to the prior volatility contraction
[11:39:50] <@wrbtrader> we must be nearing contract rollover in Oil CL futures
[11:42:37] <@wrbtrader> Oil CL on the M contract
[11:42:59] <@wrbtrader> same with Brent Oil
[11:54:57] <@wrbtrader> someone asked me via pm what's the symbols of Globex futures equivalent to forex currencies...
[11:55:23] <@wrbtrader> Most data vendors use the 6x type symbology
[11:55:48] <@wrbtrader> For example Forex EurUsd = Eurofx 6E futrues
[11:56:15] <+werner> Long NQ @ 2285.50
[11:56:34] <@wrbtrader> Forex GbpUsd = British Poundfx 6B futures
[11:58:05] <@wrbtrader> If you're a step ahead of me and you use "volume"...
[11:58:54] <@wrbtrader> You can then put these charts side by side and trade some of the Forex majors via the volume activity from their Globex futures :)
[12:00:18] <+werner> are you talking too me wrbtrader?
[12:01:35] <@wrbtrader> No...I'm talking about 3 particular emails from different folks the past week that asked similar questions about the forex versus futures symbology and a question about why some use volume for futures to help with their forex trades
[12:02:22] <@wrbtrader> Simply, I'm just reposting "my reply" in here.
[12:02:34] <+werner> ok :)
[12:11:09] <@wrbtrader> However, don't ask me what the number 6 stands for that's commonly used by data vendors...
[12:13:35] <@wrbtrader> I don't know why they choose to use 6A, 6B, 6C, 6E, 6J, 6L, 6M, 6N and so on
[12:13:59] <+werner> Long NQ @ 2286.25 -> Add
[12:15:23] <+werner> mm es some res here
[12:18:19] <+werner> Exited all NQ Long @ 2286.00 --> + 0.25
[12:19:55] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[12:31:00] <+elf2> TF really limp today
[12:38:55] <+werner> Long NQ @ 2286.50
[12:48:23] <+elf2> what the heck is the matter with the TF? again today; the nq is bouncing off its swing low, yest it was stronger than the tf also
[12:49:07] <+elf2> the TF hasn't been worth a darn since it went to ICE
[12:52:56] <+werner> Long NQ @ 2288.00 -> Add
[12:56:09] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 817.40 -> small size
[12:56:53] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[12:58:09] <@wrbtrader> I'm still keeping my contract size low for today due to the "volatility contraction" in Emini TF today and due to it being the trading day "after" a big price drop we saw yesterday
[12:58:44] <+werner> ok
[12:59:39] <+werner> res es still working
[13:03:08] <+werner> go go es

[13:09:43] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 817.60 --> + 0.2
[13:09:50] <@wrbtrader> geeesh :(
[13:10:10] <@wrbtrader> not what I wanted but the contraction is too difficult to trade manage
[13:10:30] <+werner> :(
[13:14:16] <+werner> Exited Remainder NQ Long @ 2291.00 --> + 4.5

[14:21:52] <+Time4now2> short add 819.9
[14:23:36] <+Time4now2> exit half 819.6
[14:25:39] <Owner__> exit remainder 819.3
[14:26:18] * Owner__ is now known as time4now
[14:42:12] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 819.60 -> small size
[14:42:29] <@wrbtrader> 1 contract
[14:42:32] <@wrbtrader> ooops

[14:43:00] <@wrbtrader> it's one of those day :(
[14:45:56] <@wrbtrader> Exited Emini TF Long @ 820.60 --> + 1
[14:47:43] <Time4now> short medium 820.2
[15:12:47] <@wrbtrader> after the higher low in the Emini TF...we now have rising prices on "volatility contraction"
[15:16:56] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies

[15:50:17] <+werner> brr
[15:50:24] <+ajax-Soc> :)
[15:50:41] <+werner> Covered all NQ Short @ 2300.50 --> - 1.25
[15:51:11] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 820.00 -> small size
[15:51:16] <@wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[15:52:24] <@wrbtrader> FYI - market approaching the 4pm rush hour traffic
[15:52:25] <+ajax-Soc> L2300.5, +1, +1.25out
[15:54:33] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 820.50 --> + 0.5
[15:55:24] <+ajax-Soc> werner....fyi....when comparing charts of volume & tick....found a relationship never seen before....the vol 144 is equal to a 89tick; the vol 233 is equal to a 144tick, etc on way up.....so comparing those two charts equals now to see which is betta with indicators....seems the vol charts are just a little faster(~1bar sometimes) in turns than the equal tick chart....
[15:56:37] <+ajax-Soc> tells why my seeing moves on my 144tk was the same as ur 233vol charts, in we seeing same moves...... :))
[15:57:57] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 820.80 -> small size
[15:58:03] <+werner> ok thats intresting i look for it tomorrow..thnx :)
[15:58:04] <@wrbtrader> 1 contract
[15:58:05] <+codehead> IBM INTC up to bat
[15:58:06] <@wrbtrader> intuition
[15:58:21] <+ajax-Soc> yw :)
[15:59:51] <+ajax-Soc> L2301.5, +1, +1.5out
[16:01:16] <@wrbtrader> Exited Emini TF Long @ 820.50 --> - 0.3
[16:03:01] <+ajax-Soc> ya they are literally mirror images of one another.....just indicator lines slighty different (MACD/Stoch/CCI) is all....but very subtle
[16:03:48] <+ajax-Soc> vol bars have tendency to print 1-2 candles in same time frame as tick, so so far vol has the edge, imo
[16:04:41] <@wrbtrader> The hourly chart (60 mins) of the Emini and Eurex futures show very clearly the "tight trading range of low volatility" that involved today's trading session.
[16:05:58] <@wrbtrader> Hopefully tomorrow we can get above or below the range of yesterday that had that big volatility spike just before the open
[16:07:19] <+werner> wow nq
[16:07:54] <+werner> news?
[16:08:49] <+ajax-Soc> L2304, +1, +10 out on runr no stop......yeeehaaa... :)
[16:09:14] <+ajax-Soc> saw 144tk es take off, so nq blasted....wow
[16:09:25] <+werner> vn
[16:09:45] <+ajax-Soc> 2315 is R1= why bailed there
[16:09:49] <+ajax-Soc> thx
[16:10:57] <+ajax-Soc> gotta run, patients coming....have great nt all.... :)
[16:11:31] <+codehead> NQ in res area
[16:14:57] <+werner> indd codehead
[16:15:30] <+codehead> now INTC
[16:16:01] <+werner> lets see tomorrow ..gn all
[16:24:26] <@wrbtrader> Emini NQ now above that difficult range it was stuck inside all day
[16:24:44] <@wrbtrader> Eminis ES approaching the upper area of the same range
[16:25:16] <@wrbtrader> Will be interesting to see how this impact tomorrow mornings open
[16:41:39] <Time4now> another tough day for me
[16:42:00] <+Time4now> missed a good one mid day
[16:46:57] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies

-------------------------

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own trade signal methods, different perspective of the markets and different experience levels. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
