#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades or market commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

In addition, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets to help keep the chat room diversified...posting trades or market commentaries. Also, if you're looking for real-time education in the chat room involving price action only trading (profitably trading without indicators)...you need to contact us to schedule price action only trading real-time discussions. We'll then have one on one (private) real-time price action only trading discussions with you while you're using #FuturesTrades real-time chat room to prevent distractions in the chat room with other members that are using different trading methods in comparison to us. However, you must first download and learn our free study guide at a different forum @ TSL Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

With that said, thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trade information not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books if you're not interested in scheduling one on one (private) real-time price action only trading education discussions. To gain access to #FuturesTrades chat room...please follow the instructions @ FTCHAT Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

[10:51:34] <@wrbtrader> However, the hesitation to re-enter was costly...I could have gotten short again around 822.50 but hesitated too long

[12:32:29] <@wrbtrader> lower highs the past few intervals not helping
[12:34:35] <+Time4now> will succumb to low volatility most likely
[12:38:14] <@wrbtrader> The suspense is increasing...volatility contraction at a possible developing support level.
[12:38:26] <@wrbtrader> I'm now expecting a volatility spike here soon.
[12:43:19] <@wrbtrader> Which way will the volatility spike take prices...the magic 8 ball question.
[12:43:22] <@wrbtrader> :)
[12:44:40] <+Sidhartha> maybe they want to test the low one more time... shake out those loose bulls
[12:52:05] <+Sidhartha> weak break
[13:04:05] <@wrbtrader> Geeesh...volatility contraction on the break = creeper downtrend

[13:36:29] <@wrbtrader> 1 contract
[13:40:07] <@wrbtrader> Just a low volatility tight trading range...
[13:40:47] <@wrbtrader> I bet when I do a personal errand for about 30 mins and come back it would have started a directional price movement
[13:52:17] <@wrbtrader> Exited Emini TF Long @ 806.00 --> + 199.5
[13:52:37] <@wrbtrader> ooops
[13:52:43] <@wrbtrader> -0.5
[13:52:55] <@wrbtrader> I see now that i typed in the wrong entry
[13:53:18] <@wrbtrader> anyways still a tight trading range
[13:58:13] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies

[14:20:09] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[14:20:14] <@wrbtrader> volatility increasing
[14:24:34] <@wrbtrader> bouncing around :(
[14:30:58] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 809.20 --> + 0.4
[14:51:04] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 809.80 -> small size
[14:52:01] <@wrbtrader> I've been trying Longs since the 806.00 price area...overall not getting anything out of it while it's rising :(
[14:52:09] <@wrbtrader> 1 contract
[14:54:53] <jammin> no bounces really to speak of
[14:55:02] <+jammin> tough tough 1 directional day basically so far
[14:58:14] <@wrbtrader> Normal position size when volatility is there...
[14:58:26] <@wrbtrader> Lower the position size when volatility is contracted.
[14:58:52] <@wrbtrader> I've lived by that basic rule for my position size management for about 15 years of trading.
[14:59:14] <@wrbtrader> 5 years before that it was a "big struggle" because I did the same size for all trades...
[14:59:39] <@wrbtrader> Ignoring the fact that the price action is not the same for every trade even though the trade signal may be the same.
[14:59:50] <@wrbtrader> The difference is volatility
[15:00:37] <@wrbtrader> In fact, it's a contradiction to use the 'same' position size because that implies the price action "never changes".
[15:01:15] <@wrbtrader> Only exception is "FOMC Announcements" :)
[15:01:31] <@wrbtrader> lower position size during that thing
[15:02:14] <@wrbtrader> Exited Emini TF Long @ 809.90 --> + 0.1
[15:03:05] <@wrbtrader> I'm not sure if I want to do a trade entry above 910 after several attempts at a Long below that
[15:04:20] <@wrbtrader> We're in the middle of back to back heavy snow...almost a snow storm.
[15:25:37] <@wrbtrader> Light Crude Oil CL futures looks like it's on "standby"
[15:28:13] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[15:42:06] <+Time4now> Shorts TF @ 814.9 -> small size «« simulator »»
[15:43:09] <+Time4now> Covered TF Short @ 814.8 --> + 0.1 «« simulator »»
[15:53:11] <@wrbtrader> I'm very surprise this many traders "still hanging around" here going into the 4pm est rush hour traffic.
[15:53:25] <@wrbtrader> Most of you guys head out of time about now :)
[15:53:33] <@wrbtrader> time = town
[15:55:38] <@wrbtrader> FYI - I will often password protect this chat room...
[15:55:55] <@wrbtrader> You need to register at the FTCHAT Support Forum to have access to the password.
[15:56:15] <@wrbtrader> Join the forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/
[15:56:47] <@wrbtrader> After you join...post a "trader profile" @ viewforum.php?f=11
[15:57:07] <@wrbtrader> That will get you access to the password just in case I password protect this chat room
[16:00:55] <@wrbtrader> Hope every body didn't fall asleep during a lot of that volatility contraction around mid-day.
[16:01:00] <@wrbtrader> I almost did.
[16:01:03] <@wrbtrader> :)
[16:03:32] <+Time4now> I needed a better re-entry
[16:04:21] <+Time4now> had no confidence in the up swing
[16:04:42] <@wrbtrader> That slow low volatility price rise off the 806 area for Emini TF...
[16:05:09] <@wrbtrader> meant 804
[16:05:54] <@wrbtrader> It felt like I was watching one of those old World War II movies where prisoners were marched acrossed the desert...most not making it to their destination.
[16:05:55] <@wrbtrader> :)
[16:06:38] <+Time4now> I think it sucked the life out of me
[16:06:44] <+Time4now> lost all my energy
[16:07:19] <@wrbtrader> I know the feeling well...thats what those low volatility creeper price action do.
[16:07:38] <+Time4now> it's strange that it has such a strong effect
[16:07:46] <+Time4now> but it's true
[16:07:50] <+Time4now> chop is draining
[16:07:57] <@wrbtrader> The key is not to be staring at the monitor the entire time...
[16:08:15] <@wrbtrader> Take a few breaks and hope it doesn't move while you're away.
[16:08:17] <+Time4now> indeed
[16:08:17] <@wrbtrader> :(
[16:09:30] <+Time4now> well it was an interesting day
[16:09:33] <+Time4now> for the most part
[16:09:52] <+Time4now> glad its over for now
[16:09:54] <+Time4now> seeya
[16:10:15] <+jammin> bye all

-------------------------

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own trade signal methods, different perspective of the markets and different experience levels. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
