#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades or market commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

In addition, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets to help keep the chat room diversified...posting trades or market commentaries. Also, if you're looking for real-time education in the chat room involving price action only trading (profitably trading without indicators)...you need to contact us to schedule price action only trading real-time discussions. We'll then have one on one (private) real-time price action only trading discussions with you while you're using #FuturesTrades real-time chat room to prevent distractions in the chat room with other members that are using different trading methods in comparison to us. However, you must first download and learn our free study guide at a different forum @ TSL Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

With that said, thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trade information not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books if you're not interested in scheduling one on one (private) real-time price action only trading education discussions. To gain access to #FuturesTrades chat room...please follow the instructions @ FTCHAT Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

[10:11:26] <+Trendtrader> werner, nice job in holding on - not sure I would have had your patience.

[10:53:27] <+werner> Long NQ @ 2231.00
[10:54:43] <+werner> brb stops are in
[11:05:55] <+werner> Exited all NQ Long @ 2230.00 --> - 1
[11:08:47] <+pat255> has anyone bought workstation from HP?
[11:08:56] <+pat255> or from DELL?
[11:09:14] <+pat255> i am looking for one
[11:10:38] <@wrbtrader> I own DELL workstations
[11:11:26] <+pat255> N what kind? i mean name of the workstation
[11:14:28] <+werner> Long NQ @ 2230.50
[11:17:12] <@wrbtrader> pat255...I have an XPS and Alienware
[11:18:46] <+pat255> k thks N will check them ...Alienware is from Dell?
[11:19:13] <@wrbtrader> Dell sells them but I don't know if Dell designs them
[11:19:22] <+pat255> k ..
[11:20:08] <@wrbtrader> All my systems are mainly designed for hardcore gaming and graphics even though I don't do any gaming
[11:20:57] <@wrbtrader> I usually get something new every 4 years
[11:21:19] <+pat255> that is a good strategy ..N get the best that way ..
[11:21:25] <Sidhartha> pat... build your own... i built my first one this year... it;s a breeze... i would never buy one again
[11:21:27] <@wrbtrader> The XPS is about 3 years old and the Alienware is about 4 months old
[11:21:55] <+Sidhartha> save yourself about $1,000 and get exactly what you want
[11:22:00] <+pat255> will check alienware ..did not see it on dell site
[11:22:21] <@wrbtrader> I got what I wanted.
[11:22:31] <@wrbtrader> I use to have my systems custom designed.
[11:22:48] <@wrbtrader> However, that created a ton of problems for me when something went wrong.
[11:22:55] <+Sidhartha> I've got an i7 930 overclocked and totally stable at 4Ghz
[11:23:12] <+Sidhartha> base speed is 2.8Ghz
[11:23:23] <@wrbtrader> I stopped having computer problems when I stopped getting custom designed systems
[11:23:33] <+Sidhartha> I've had this 6 months now... it's a flying machine and not one issue
[11:24:10] <+pat255> from Dell Sid?
[11:24:46] <+Sidhartha> no... built my own from components... i'm in the uk... but in the US use newegg or something
[11:25:27] <+pat255> k
[11:25:42] <codehead> hm, pretty heavy overclocking, eh
[11:26:18] <+codehead> as a EE, you'd think i'd have done a fair amount of overclocking, but i've always been conservative
[11:26:32] <+codehead> those i7's are a tad pricey to fry--lol
[11:26:46] <+Sidhartha> these new intel chips are designed to be overclocked...
[11:26:47] <+codehead> i have a Mac Pro (dual i7)
[11:27:01] <+Sidhartha> they are super stable at 4Ghz
[11:27:05] <+codehead> cool
[11:27:31] <+codehead> well, i figure the biggest problem is efficient threading
[11:27:36] <+codehead> having 8 cores
[11:28:52] <+Sidhartha> I had a mac pro 8 core Xeon before I built my own PC... honestly this thing is about 50% faster for my needs...
[11:29:13] <+Sidhartha> and uses about 1/2 the energy
[11:30:10] <+Sidhartha> i7 930 $262.95 on Amazon... probably get it cheaper elsewhere
[11:33:15] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[11:42:26] <+werner> must go now ..stops are in
[11:46:42] <+codehead> cool sid--for me, i develop software, and it makes no sense to test it on a machine that's faster than 99.99% of people will have, of course
[11:47:30] <+werner> Exited all NQ Long @ 2230.50 --> 0
[11:47:30] <+Sidhartha> really...? the developer of my charting software (amiBroker) I know uses an i7 930 for development...
[11:48:08] <+Sidhartha> he also has some legacy machines I guess kicking around to test for backward compatability... but I don;t think he'd enjoy developing on one of them
[11:49:22] <+codehead> sure, you can benefit from compile times, but that's not the critical thing with me
[11:49:56] <+codehead> the speed improvement is not enough to be worth it
[11:50:46] <+codehead> assuming i could increase my cpu clock, say, 35-40%, the throughput is still much lower than that
[11:51:35] <+codehead> the bottleneck being main memory and other storage
[11:53:28] <+Sidhartha> sure. you gotta build for your needs obviously. but I assumed the conversation was about trading computers... which generally, you want everything as fast as possible...
[11:53:40] <+codehead> oh sure
[11:54:22] <+codehead> my performance needs are for digital audio
[11:54:42] <+codehead> you have a certain number of cycles available per sample
[11:55:01] <+codehead> developing a system that can only run on an overclocked system makes no sense, of course
[11:55:14] <+codehead> because it would fail on most people's systems
[11:55:20] <+codehead> peoples'
[12:09:13] <+werner> Long NQ @ 2231.50
[12:52:11] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 787.70 -> small size
[12:52:28] <@wrbtrader> intuition
[12:52:34] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[12:54:30] <@wrbtrader> weird data I'm getting now :(
[12:57:10] <@wrbtrader> Exited all TF Long @ 787.70 --> 0
[12:57:32] <@wrbtrader> questionable data
[12:57:37] <@wrbtrader> will just watch
[12:59:46] <+codehead> 1250.00 ES
[13:00:16] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[13:01:26] <+codehead> some res here...
[13:43:59] <+werner> back...grr 2234.75 no fill
[13:47:33] <+codehead> decent pb on oil
[13:47:48] <+werner> mm
[14:04:31] <@wrbtrader> What's up with Traderslaboratory ?
[14:05:26] <@wrbtrader> Everytime I try to type a message after I log in...it then request me to "register" while wiping away my entire message post after I click submit message reply.
[14:05:49] <@wrbtrader> Looks like they're having some problems after the major behind the scene changes :(
[14:10:36] <@wrbtrader> Their new placement of advertisements inside the message posts is a pain in the butt
[14:15:59] <+Sidhartha> wrbtrader, can you have a quick look at a daily GBPUSD chart if you have one... or the future... 6B I think the symbol...
[14:16:27] <+Sidhartha> daily...
[14:22:58] <@wrbtrader> Just a second...my data source eSignal of forex sucks.
[14:23:04] <+Sidhartha> ok
[14:23:10] <@wrbtrader> I'm going to look at a free site that has better data.
[14:23:20] <+Sidhartha> ok thanks
[14:23:59] <@wrbtrader> Ok...
[14:24:02] <@wrbtrader> It's up
[14:24:23] <+Sidhartha> ok. since september, do you see a pretty clear head and shoulders...?
[14:24:54] <+Sidhartha> the pD had just broken in your terminology...
[14:25:20] <@wrbtrader> I see a more clear one since June
[14:25:35] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...a pD support is broken
[14:25:46] <+Sidhartha> ok yeah I see that too
[14:25:56] <+Sidhartha> I think there's one H&S within another...
[14:26:10] <@wrbtrader> That usually is the case with H&S
[14:26:24] <+Sidhartha> anyway, I assume you'd think downside pressure continues until at least pB is tested...?
[14:26:28] <@wrbtrader> You can have a bearish H&S within a Bullish H&S or vice versa
[14:26:34] <+Sidhartha> ok
[14:26:59] <+Sidhartha> unless of course this current price forms the head of a bearish H&S...??!
[14:27:15] <+Sidhartha> bearish=bullish
[14:27:17] <+Sidhartha> doh
[14:27:22] <@wrbtrader> H&S price action taught me or improve my "position size management".
[14:27:51] <@wrbtrader> I quickly learned that not all price action is the same...
[14:28:22] <@wrbtrader> Therefore, there's different risk and to have the same trade size on on trades is a contradiction to any changed risk
[14:28:25] <+codehead> oil came right back intot the close with a pop
[14:29:13] <+Sidhartha> ok. but looking at this price action, I'm assuming you'd be thinking it's bearish...?
[14:30:02] <@wrbtrader> It's bearish but it also has a lot of support levels below it.
[14:30:16] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[14:30:18] <@wrbtrader> Very easy for it to find support and power back upwards
[14:30:40] <+Sidhartha> ok thanks. I have a currency hedge to do and was seeking another technical opinion...
[14:34:00] <Time4now> tf contracting within the upper shadow of a hammer
[14:34:14] <+Time4now> that seems to be quite comon
[14:37:57] <+Time4now> there is the breakout
[14:42:09] <+Sidhartha> and now the sell off!!!
[14:42:27] <+Sidhartha> notice that of all the main e-mini's TF was the only one to make a new high there...
[14:42:57] <+Sidhartha> it does have a habit of going through key levels as wrbtrader has noted before
[14:44:34] <+codehead> hm... looking toppy,,,
[14:46:00] <+codehead> but such a narrow chop right now
[14:59:59] <RYAN> anyone have the url for Traderslaboratory? plz.

[15:45:09] <+Time4now> Nice drop in the tf
[15:45:21] <+Time4now> i was in and out at 88.7 to 88.5
[15:45:47] <+Time4now> I thought the volatility was declining
[15:46:01] <+Time4now> and then it shoots down
[15:48:51] <+codehead> ES signal tryign to roll over, though a bit late int eh day
[15:48:55] <+codehead> reports int he morning
[15:57:17] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[15:59:22] <+codehead> tricky, tricky NQ
[16:00:56] <+Time4now> ym looks more like es than usual
[16:01:09] <+Time4now> and they both separated from nq/tf
[16:09:57] <@wrbtrader> Only 3 trades for me today...done by 1pm est
[16:11:00] <@wrbtrader> a little over $500 in profits
[16:11:23] <+Time4now> gj
[16:11:49] <@wrbtrader> Usually this time of year we only have about 5 - 10 people in here
[16:11:57] <@wrbtrader> Due to the pending holidays
[16:12:33] <@wrbtrader> I thought for sure with the vanishing day traders in the financial markets...there would be less in here
[16:14:27] <@wrbtrader> Reminds me about that article called "Here's the Proof Day Trading is Dead" @ viewtopic.php?f=41&t=659
[16:14:49] <+Time4now> yeah, i can't read that again
[16:15:25] <@wrbtrader> With folks like Bernie Madoff behind bars...we lost all the volatility :)
[16:16:07] <+Time4now> he created volatility?
[16:16:19] <@wrbtrader> No...it's a joke.
[16:16:47] <+Time4now> sorry, i'm out of sinc with the rest of the world lately
[16:16:58] <@wrbtrader> Takes a crisis like the one we had in 2008 to create volatility
[16:17:11] <@wrbtrader> meant...consistent volatility that last a few months
[16:17:25] <+Time4now> i'm sure there will be more
[16:17:41] <+Time4now> though that was extreme
[16:19:45] <@wrbtrader> I was listening to Obama a few weeks ago talk about how Americans with an extra $1000 in tax refund will help "many of today's financial problems".
[16:20:03] <@wrbtrader> His exact words and I started laughing.
[16:20:23] <+Time4now> just keep pumping the money
[16:20:29] <+Time4now> it will solve everything
[16:20:29] <@wrbtrader> Maybe he meant $10,000 or $100,000 dollars :)
[16:21:06] <@wrbtrader> I can see a tax refund of that amount helping Americans but not $1,000
[16:22:04] <+Time4now> I don't see why they keep trying to stimulate the economy
[16:22:16] <+Time4now> werent we on a drunken binge?
[16:22:17] <@wrbtrader> Anyways, don't spend too much money over XMAS unless it's tax deductible :)
[16:22:51] <+Time4now> indeed
[16:23:25] <@wrbtrader> Take care all and see all tomorrow
[16:23:39] <+Time4now> seeya

-------------------------

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own trade signal methods, different perspective of the markets and different experience levels. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
