#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies.

This is not a signal calling chat room nor is the chat room designed to be educational. #FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day. Yet, you will see members providing useful trading tips that may or may not help with your trading.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets as long as they do not violate our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy.

Thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and it's highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trading tips not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books.

[10:03:17] <@wrbtrader> I can now trade until noon.
[10:03:23] <+Inertia> that is the point I was trying to make. Not too long ago I would have gone long JUST because it fell TOO MUCH without any other reason and FELL TOO MUCH is not a reason

[10:04:52] <+codehead> we could get a good bounce today

[10:05:22] <+Inertia> sometimes I think that I am

[10:05:50] <+Inertia> and sometimes I am an emotional mess
[10:06:15] <@wrbtrader> I just got bearish...lets see if a short squeeze shows up now
[10:06:45] <@wrbtrader> If it pulls back hard...I'll get short

[10:16:37] <@wrbtrader> gotta wait for a counter-thrust back upwards to see if it sets up something (Long or Short)

[10:30:15] <+codehead> NQ NQ has supp 1711
[10:30:20] <+codehead> 1711-.25
[10:31:45] <+codehead> tried long 1711.25, no fill
[11:04:09] <+codehead> 1006 is a fib on ES
[11:08:04] <@X> #FuturesTrades Purpose -> Members use this room to document (trade journal) their trades and thoughts from one trade to the next trade because it provides critical information they can't get from broker statements nor statistics. [11:22:46] <+Inertia> it's a write off day. did not take a single trade. not able to concentrate. emotional control despite external events would be a good thing but not today it seems
[11:33:04] <+codehead> 1006.00 was .618 on the weekly chart
[11:33:09] <+codehead> has a nice symmetry at 1006.25 on weekly as well
[11:40:26] <+codehead> Ym hit .382, might pb to 9604
[11:43:47] <+codehead> NQ at .618 bounce
[11:44:10] <+codehead> ugh, i trailed stop too tight near 1700 on bounce, really dum
[11:44:25] <+codehead> today is a potential major bottom day
[11:44:42] <+codehead> breakdown today, if bought, signals a bottom
[11:44:58] <+codehead> and ES hit major weekly support
[11:50:08] <+Inertia> there is really no real reason for the market to go up
[11:51:20] <+codehead> sure there is--buying :-)
[11:51:29] <+codehead> it's the only reason there is
[11:52:24] <+Inertia> :)
[11:52:38] <+Inertia> the question then is - what is the reason for buying?
[11:52:54] <+Inertia> the economic data has not been very encouraging of late
[11:53:05] <+codehead> reason for buy: because it will go up?
[11:53:10] <+codehead> lol i dunno
[11:53:20] <+codehead> usually, because it *is* going up
[11:53:30] <+Inertia> because it will go up? :))
[11:53:31] <+codehead> or because there are no sellers left
[11:53:42] <+Inertia> now this last one I like
[11:53:59] <+codehead> NQ sotpped at .618
[11:54:05] <+codehead> and symmetry
[11:54:20] <+codehead> .500 pb on YM
[11:55:07] <+Inertia> .618 or RTH, pre market, overnight? there r so many variable that it is hard to put a fingure on a turning oint
[11:55:15] <+Inertia> or = of
[11:56:21] <+codehead> Ym bounce at .500 pb
[11:56:37] <+codehead> gabe: look at 5 min chart
[11:56:41] <+codehead> it will be immediately obvious
[11:56:49] <+codehead> always go for the obvious
[11:56:56] <+codehead> because it's what other people are looking at
[11:57:01] <+codehead> most of the other people
[11:57:26] <+codehead> hint: today's market hod to lod...
[11:57:29] <+codehead> .618 retracement
[11:57:48] <+Inertia> ok
[11:57:55] <+Inertia> so RTH
[11:58:10] <+codehead> the move from hod to lod was one piece, so especially obvious
[11:58:23] <+Inertia> I noticed that pre market level (8AM-9:30AM) r significant magnets
[11:59:23] <+Inertia> BTW I don't have .618 retracement. it is closer to 50%
[11:59:39] <+Inertia> @ around 11:48AM
[12:00:35] <+codehead> hod 1745.75, lod 1698.00
[12:00:37] <+Inertia> on ES
[12:00:44] <+codehead> 1727.50 = .618
[12:00:47] <+Inertia> u maybe looking at another instr
[12:00:57] <+codehead> oh, you talking E
[12:00:58] <+codehead> ES
[12:00:59] <+Inertia> NQ then
[12:01:08] <+Inertia> i c
[12:01:32] <+Inertia> yes .618 on NQ
[12:01:57] <+Inertia> but the fact that the % retracement is different between instruments is confusing
[12:02:17] <+Inertia> price level are more indicative. I think (therefore I am)
[12:02:43] <+codehead> i blew it a little today, had expectations of bounce, NQ was a bit strong but turned into the weakest while i tried a couple of levels long and lost, trading ahead of signals
[12:03:00] <+codehead> then last one i went long on signal try, but absentmindedly tighted my stop
[12:03:05] <+codehead> and it jsut tapped
[12:03:17] <+codehead> so didn't get back my losses
[12:03:43] <+codehead> not large, but would have been huge win to hold, went 28 pt
[12:04:18] <+Inertia> NQ is the only one that overshot the retracment. ES and TF reached only 50% so far
[12:05:46] <+Inertia> bbl
[12:20:48] <+Inertia> back

[14:44:07] <+codehead> NQ pb hit .500 exact
[14:44:23] <+codehead> from lod to bounce high
[14:44:41] <+codehead> Ym 2 ticks from .618

[15:56:18] <+Inertia> the importance of taking EVERY TRADE. if we have an edge, we cannot be selective in chosing which trade to take and which not to take. One can be very unlucky and take only the losers whcih will shake the confidence in the edge.
[15:56:56] <+Inertia> (this was mainly 4 me) :)
[15:57:13] <+Inertia> but I am willing 2 share
[15:58:21] <+codehead> yeah
[16:00:03] <+Inertia> we may have hit a bottom. there was a hammer with very high volume. a typical reversal pattern (in my opinion)
[16:00:19] <+Inertia> daily
[16:05:05] <+codehead> yep\
[16:05:14] <+codehead> and ES had a big weekly chart numbert
[16:05:17] <+codehead> 1006.00
[16:05:43] <+codehead> and dang, i was going to put a buy 1006.25 and bet on it, but jumped on NQ, and was early
[16:08:12] <+codehead> bought USO call at the bottom, but took small profit into oil close, always find it a distraction
[16:08:25] <+codehead> should be decent price tho
[16:18:11] <+Inertia> gn

-------------------------

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods and different perspective of the markets. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisments for guest visitors. More information about #FuturesTrades @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/FuturesTradesChatRoom.htm

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
