#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies.

This is not a signal calling chat room nor is the chat room designed to be educational. #FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day. Yet, you will see members providing useful trading tips that may or may not help with your trading.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets as long as they do not violate our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy.

Thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and it's highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trading tips not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books.

[09:21] <pat255> gm all
[09:21] <+pat255> all week at office ...:(
[09:24] <Sidhartha> gm all
[09:24] <+Sidhartha> lets hope for some action today... rather than a slow trend grind
[09:29] <drt> gm
[09:32] <rickf> gm
[09:33] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 660.30 -> medium size
[09:33] <@wrbtrader> 4 only
[09:33] <@wrbtrader> horrible entry
[09:36] <+pat255> working well N
[09:36] <@wrbtrader> Exited 1/4 TF Long @ 661.60 --> + 1.3
[09:37] <@X> #FuturesTrades Purpose -> Members use this room to document (trade journal) their trades and thoughts from one trade to the next trade because it provides critical information they can't get from broker statements nor statistics. Also, mimicking the trades by others is not recommended. More info about the chat room @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum
[09:38] <@wrbtrader> Exited 1/4 TF Long @ 662.00 --> + 1.7
[09:38] <+Sidhartha> typical... market shook me out of that long so I had to reenter
[09:38] <+rickf> short es 1106
[09:39] <@wrbtrader> trailing @ profit
[09:41] <+Sidhartha> the market made that long harder than it should have been
[09:44] <@wrbtrader> I'm listening to the perfect song for this trade to help with my patience to stick with it @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMZkCY7wA70
[09:45] <+Sidhartha> problem was my breakeven stops kept getting hit
[09:45] <+pat255> gez no L entry very little p/b
[09:45] <+Sidhartha> and i had re-enter...
[09:45] <+Sidhartha> are you running quite wide stops wrbtrader...?
[09:46] <@wrbtrader> I'm currently trailing @ 660.50
[09:46] <@wrbtrader> have only done one adjustment from -1.5
[09:47] <@wrbtrader> If it hits 663.50 or one of the key markets fills it gap...I'll trail with a tight stop to 662.00
[09:47] <+Sidhartha> to be fair YM (which I'm trading) retraced a little harder than TF
[09:49] <+Sidhartha> key markets not meaning NQ clearly...?
[09:49] <@wrbtrader> Oil Index
[09:49] <+Sidhartha> sure
[09:50] <@wrbtrader> Gold Index
[09:51] <@wrbtrader> contracting volatility showing up in other markets :(
[09:51] <@wrbtrader> Exited Remainder TF Long @ 661.70 --> + 1.4
[09:55] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 661.10 -> small size
[09:56] <@wrbtrader> 2 only
[09:56] <Inertia> nice music
[09:56] <Tigerman> hi all
[09:56] <Time4now> yeah, I tend to listen to music that hinders higher brain functions
[09:57] <@wrbtrader> :)
[09:57] <+Inertia> Time4now - white noise will do that
[09:58] <+Time4now> not familiar
[09:58] <@wrbtrader> I'm not getting any help on this Long :(
[10:00] <+Time4now> there you go
[10:02] <@wrbtrader> trailing @ profit
[10:03] <@wrbtrader> Exited 1/2 TF Long @ 663.00 --> + 1.9
[10:10] <@wrbtrader> Exited Remainder TF Long @ 662.00 --> + 0.9
[10:11] <+pat255> vn
[10:12] <@wrbtrader> Would have been a lot nicer had I "position reversal" the Long into a Short at the intraday top because I got a short signal up there :(
[10:18] <+Inertia> oil inv in 13 min
[10:21] <+Time4now> wow, it gapped from my entry
[10:23] <+rickf> exit es 1105 +1
[10:23] <+rickf> sheeeesh
[10:23] <+rickf> 35 frakking minutes for one point
[10:24] <+Inertia> i admire your patience
[10:24] <+rickf> thx - a year ago i'd be long gone, for a loss
[10:24] <+Inertia> me 2
[10:24] <+pat255> vn rick
[10:25] <+rickf> i learned last year in chop, if you're in it, to grit your teeth and ride it out ... think of it as turbulence in an airplane
[10:25] <+Inertia> my average trade is 4 1/2 minuts
[10:25] <+rickf> you just can't open the door and leave the craft during rough air :)
[10:25] <+rickf> so it's a nail-biter to be sure ... but beats paying the broker during the chop
[10:26] <+rickf> was thinking of holding it for lower (which i think it's headed) but got tired of the trade
[10:27] <+Inertia> 2 trades 2 day. by the rules (eventhough I was tempted 2 click 4 no reason :) ) and both worked out
[10:28] <+rickf> see? rules rule! :)
[10:28] <+Inertia> I prefer 2 look at rules as statistically viable reasons 2 take a trade
[10:29] <+Inertia> but u r right
[10:29] <+rickf> my style of trading comes to two things: a) the 'setup' and b) my own assessment of the market action/activity ... ie 'situational awareness' that you only get by hours and hours of screentime/tape-watching
[10:30] <+rickf> if they both don't agree i won't take a trade
[10:30] <+Inertia> 2 bad we cannot b like the BORG. This way the collective screen-time would help more
[10:30] <+rickf> 2010 i'm much more a "price action" trader than ever before ... doing better, too
[10:30] <+rickf> lol
[10:30] <+rickf> maybe the Cloud Computing can help
[10:31] <+rickf> bearish oil news
[10:31] <+Inertia> there is a German site which links many home computers to do collective tech analysis
[10:32] <+pat255> hmm how inertia?
[10:33] <+Inertia> i am looking now 4 the site
[10:33] <+Inertia> basically u d/l a program and when u log in the system gives u a task and your computer executes it in it's down time
[10:34] <+Inertia> like the SETI project
[10:35] <@wrbtrader> FYI - Reminder...do not give the password to anyone that's not in here. If someone ask you for the password...just tell them to contact me.
[10:35] <+pat255> i c
[10:35] <+rickf> ok note to self: trust your instinct and hold a working trade longer, even if you're tired
[10:36] <+pat255> N never did that ...always tel folks to send u email or go to the site
[10:36] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 659.90 -> small size
[10:36] <@wrbtrader> 2 only
[10:37] <@wrbtrader> won't hang around too long in this trade
[10:38] <+rickf> somehow i think this describes the art + science of trading http://abstrusegoose.com/276
[10:38] <@wrbtrader> Exited all TF Long @ 660.30 --> + 0.4
[10:38] <+Sidhartha> haha
[10:38] <+Inertia> Al Brooks wrote in his book that a trend will last longer than we think
[10:39] <+Inertia> abstrusegoose :))
[10:40] <+rickf> ;)
[10:40] <+rickf> and with that, i'm out for i think the rest of the day -- meetings abound.
[10:40] <+rickf> good luck, good trading
[10:40] * rickf is now known as rickf_away
[10:44] <+pat255> N atleast u are staying with the trend ..
[10:44] <+pat255> Itend to shoot myself going CT
[10:46] <+Inertia> http://www.gstock.com/?picks is similar 2 the 1 i was talking about
[10:53] * +Time4now long tf 660.4
[10:53] <+Inertia> 2 tick slippage on TF :(
[10:54] * +Time4now out 660.6
[11:04] <+Inertia> found it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MoneyBee
[11:04] <@X> #FuturesTrades Purpose -> Members use this room to document (trade journal) their trades and thoughts from one trade to the next trade because it provides critical information they can't get from broker statements nor statistics. [11:25] * +Time4now short tf 664.9
[11:27] * +Time4now out 666
[11:31] <+Inertia> during my live trades, time seems 2 pass much slower than in my sim trades
[11:33] <+Inertia> again an anomaly in up/down volume (NYSE)
[11:33] <+Inertia> dwn 4x bigger than up
[11:34] <+Inertia> but vol overall is low
[11:36] <+Time4now> I have ruined myself w/ trade managment today
[11:37] <+Inertia> ???
[11:37] <+Time4now> havent posted all my trades...
[11:38] <+Time4now> break time, seeya
[11:53] <+Sidhartha> Interia... yes. Time perceptually does last much longer when you are in a live trade... no doubt
[11:54] <+Sidhartha> sometimes i feel like I've been a trade for ages... and it's like 4 mins
[12:05] <@wrbtrader> Ok...I'm back...watched Switzerland upset Spain in soccer 1 - 0
[12:06] <+Sidhartha> yup. big shock
[12:18] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 666.20 -> small size
[12:18] <@wrbtrader> 1 only
[12:18] <@wrbtrader> intuition
[12:18] <@wrbtrader> :(
[12:20] <@wrbtrader> Exited TF Long @ 666.30 --> + 0.1
[12:20] <@wrbtrader> early exit
[12:20] <@wrbtrader> be back later...got some distractions here at home
[12:22] <+Inertia> my head is screwed on right 2day :)
[12:24] <+Sidhartha> meaning...?
[12:26] <+Sidhartha> mines not... started the day well, gave it all back with a few carelessly managed trades that didn't work out
[12:29] <+Inertia> 9 out of 11 trades were good, 1 loser, 1 be
[12:30] <+Inertia> i trade was not by the rules but got lucky
[12:30] <+Inertia> i=1
[12:31] <+Inertia> it feels good to do well when following the rules. When I get lucky (after not following the rules) I don't feel good
[12:32] <+Inertia> lunz time :)
[12:33] <+Sidhartha> nice. well done. good progress
[12:33] <codehead> short NQ 1906.00 <paper> 1.75 stop
[12:34] <+codehead> basically, if it can't break 1907.50, should pb decent
[12:34] <@X> #FuturesTrades Purpose -> Members use this room to document (trade journal) their trades and thoughts from one trade to the next trade because it provides critical information they can't get from broker statements nor statistics. [12:36] <+codehead> (and if it does, was a reasonable gamble)
[12:41] <+codehead> cover half +3.50 <paper>
[12:41] <+codehead> at 20 ema
[12:42] <+codehead> target remainder 1900.50 <paper>
[12:43] <+Sidhartha> nice
[12:44] <+codehead> exit NQ +4.50 <paper>, close enough
[12:44] <+codehead> should have taken it real, was pretty sure
[12:45] <+Sidhartha> I'm taking eveything for real these days... only way you really tame your demons I think...
[12:45] <+codehead> having inertia problem today, got mouse ready to click a couple times, haven't pulled the trigger
[14:04] <@X> #FuturesTrades Purpose -> Members use this room to document (trade journal) their trades and thoughts from one trade to the next trade because it provides critical information they can't get from broker statements nor statistics. [14:17] <+Inertia> [12:45:54] <codehead> having inertia problem today, :)
[14:24] <+codehead> lol
[14:28] <+Inertia> 2day looks almost like yesterday. nice uptrend
[14:37] <+Sidhartha> yup.... i think trend days, for me, are the hardest to trade
[14:41] <+Inertia> once the train leaves the station it is hard 2 get aboard when it is moving
[14:42] <+Inertia> reminds me of the Peter Sellers movie Being There
[14:42] <+Inertia> where he was the gardener
[14:42] <+Sidhartha> eaxctly... my natural mentality is to sell tops and buy bottoms... something i have to fight against
[14:46] <+Inertia> did u read Al Brook's book?
[14:49] <+Sidhartha> I started it... then had to leave town on other business for 3 weeks...
[14:50] <+Sidhartha> so I need to start again... and read the glossary first so that it makes sense!!!
[14:50] <@wrbtrader> I'm back from some personal stuff
[14:52] <+Inertia> it is a poorly written book but 1 of the best that I read
[14:53] <+Sidhartha> did you have to read the gloassry to make sense of it...? i recall not knowing what he was referring to a lot of the time... and I'm not stupid...
[14:55] <@wrbtrader> I've asked many times in the past to stop talking about Al Brooks in here...
[14:55] <@wrbtrader> Last warning today.
[14:55] <+Inertia> i watched some of his webinars b4 I got the book and some articles in FuturesMag so it was not new 2 me but 4 some 1 reading the book only , it is a good idea 2 read the glossary 1st
[14:56] <+Inertia> ok
[14:56] <+Sidhartha> sorry... I never heard you say that wrbtrader. but I have now.
[15:00] <+Time4now> I have been right in the direction 5 of 6 times today, and yet I am negative
[15:01] <+Time4now> just figured I'd throw that out there
[15:02] <tigerball> hi all
[15:02] <+tigerball> I am tigerman but have double nick today ??
[15:07] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 666.20 -> small size
[15:08] <@wrbtrader> 2 only
[15:08] <@wrbtrader> late post
[15:11] <@wrbtrader> I don't like what I'm seeing in Oil and Gold right now...looking for and exit
[15:12] <@wrbtrader> Exited all TF Long @ 666.70 --> + 0.5
[15:13] <@wrbtrader> TF on it's own without any help from other key markets
[15:14] <@wrbtrader> The first help to show up...TF should test 667.50 if it remains above 666.50
[15:17] <@wrbtrader> mixed signals here :(
[15:19] <@wrbtrader> Shorts TF @ 664.70 -> small size
[15:19] <@wrbtrader> 2 only
[15:19] <@wrbtrader> intuition
[15:22] <@wrbtrader> Covered all TF Short @ 662.40 --> + 2.3
[15:22] <Tigerman> hi all
[15:22] <+Sidhartha> very nice wrbtrader
[15:34] <@X> #FuturesTrades Purpose -> Members use this room to document (trade journal) their trades and thoughts from one trade to the next trade because it provides critical information they can't get from broker statements nor statistics. [15:37] <@wrbtrader> Just got another Long signal but I don't like it because it has very little help from other key markets
[15:37] <@wrbtrader> may try a 1 contract position to lower my risk
[15:38] <@wrbtrader> missed entry...will just watch
[15:41] <+Tigerman> wrb do you mean index equity or oil and gold?
[15:43] <@wrbtrader> Index or ETF of Oil and Gold

-------------------------

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods and different perspective of the markets. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisments for guest visitors. More information about #FuturesTrades @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/FuturesTradesChatRoom.htm

Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
