#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies.

This is not a signal calling chat room nor is the chat room designed to be educational. #FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day. Yet, you will see members providing useful trading tips that may or may not help with your trading.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets as long as they do not violate our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy.

Thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and it's highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trading tips not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books.

[10:39] <+MrYinYangTrader> Exited all TF Long @ 624 --> + 0.1
[10:39] <+JimL1> since 9:40 the up slope has formed some supports that were tested & bouncced, 622 is current key support last couple of times dwn & the up slope is flattening
[10:40] <+Inertia> not even good news can turn this market up..... so far
[10:41] <+MrYinYangTrader> Shorts TF @ 623
[10:41] <+MrYinYangTrader> tight stop
[10:42] <+MrYinYangTrader> don't like the fact that its sitting right on the vwap
[10:42] <+Sidhartha> forming a descending triangle
[10:42] <+MrYinYangTrader> Covered all TF Short @ 623.10 --> - 0.1
[10:43] <+Inertia> doesn't vwap depend on when you started your chart?
[10:44] <+MrYinYangTrader> yea my regular session
[10:44] <+Inertia> so if I started my chart 5 minutes after u, I will have a diff VWAP?
[10:44] <+JimL1> if the 622 fails may get tests of 619 & maybe 616
[10:44] <+Sidhartha> Inertia yes
[10:44] <+Sidhartha> but it only really makes sense to calc a vwap when the stocks are open too...
[10:45] <+Sidhartha> so you might as well use the stock session
[10:45] <+Inertia> good. another indicator I don't have 2 worry about :)
[10:45] <+MrYinYangTrader> that's why i use regular session
[10:45] <+Inertia> b/c there would b many values 4 it which means that the reaction 2 it will b diff
[10:46] <@wrbtrader> I couldn't resist responding to this message post @ http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthrea ... did=199818
[10:46] <+Sidhartha> sure
[10:46] <+Inertia> from trader 2 trader
[10:46] <@wrbtrader> :)
[10:46] <+rickf> You beat me to it, wrbtrader -- i was just reading that
[10:46] <@wrbtrader> Currently not trading right now because I'm icing my knee.
[10:46] <+pat255> lol nice reply N
[10:46] <+rickf> his next question will be "where can i trade the ES for $500 margin"
[10:46] <+Inertia> :))))))))))))))
[10:47] <+Sidhartha> but... vwap is important because MANY institutional stock trades are traded against VWAP... hence those trades can have a big influence on the future via index arb etc
[10:47] <+MrYinYangTrader> lol wrb
[10:47] <+Inertia> no volume :))) I thought it is going there
[10:47] <+Inertia> thanks Sid
[10:48] <+Sidhartha> ha
[10:48] <+Inertia> but does vwap really matter to the small trader who is in the market just 4 a few minutes?
[10:48] <+Sidhartha> sounds like 'freewilly' will soon be free of the bounds of having any assets
[10:49] <+Inertia> :))
[10:49] <+Inertia> the sense of humor in this room 2day is abundant
[10:49] <+Sidhartha> YY uses it more than I... but I can see that it's a useful level to look at... i.e. if price gets too many std devs away from VWAP you can say with some level of certainly that it will mean revert...
[10:50] <+Inertia> i'll start looking at it for a while
[10:51] <+Sidhartha> very similar to the POC...
[10:51] <+MrYinYangTrader> yea sid... 2 std dev usually have a good change of reverting at leasst back to 1 std dev
[10:51] <+Sidhartha> and also the S1, S2, S3, R1, R2, R3 from the pivots...
[10:51] <+MrYinYangTrader> i don't use std dev much anymore.. to many stuff on my charts make me unhappy
[10:51] <+MrYinYangTrader> i like it clear
[10:51] <+Sidhartha> me too
[10:51] <+Sidhartha> that's the challenge... to get the right info in the clearest and quickest way possible!
[10:52] <+Inertia> i have only a 20EMA on my charts and I am happy
[10:53] <+Inertia> and vol
[10:54] <+MrYinYangTrader> we might go test weekly s1 at 614.3
[10:55] <+Sidhartha> I don't even have volume
[10:55] <+Sidhartha> ;-)
[10:55] <+Sidhartha> just price... but lots of info added to the price in as efficient a way as possible
[10:56] <+Inertia> it is not really neceCELERY, but it is just sort of a comfort thing
[10:57] <+MrYinYangTrader> ok guys i gotta head out to the docs
[10:57] <+MrYinYangTrader> cya later in the afternoon
[11:08] <+rickf> The Korean situation just got worser: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 16_pf.html
[11:08] <+rickf> (and yes, I said 'worser')
[11:09] <+rickf> short es 1053.75
[11:09] <+rickf> paper
[11:14] <+rickf> esit es 1051.75 +2 paper
[11:23] <codehead> full moon Thursday eve
[11:28] <+rickf> so is that buy, sell, hold, or hide?
[11:28] <+rickf> ;)
[11:28] <+codehead> just info ;-)
[11:30] <+rickf> you know what i find annoying as heck? the fact all these options people use the same catchphrase: "make money whether stocks go up, down, or nowhere at all."
[11:30] <+codehead> btw, we've had tough res just under 1090 ES
[11:31] <+codehead> now, 1089.50 is .382 fib, if we don't see new low
[11:31] <+codehead> on globex session

[11:37] <+pat255> later guys office ty all
[11:49] <+codehead> so far NQ has buyers at .500 retracement
[11:57] <+Inertia> <rickf> The Korean situation just got worser: - WORSER? ;-)
[11:58] <+rickf> yeah fun grammar day :)
[11:58] <+Inertia> :)))
[11:58] <+Inertia> ju r funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny
[11:58] <+Inertia> seriously what happened?
[11:58] <+rickf> read the article ... tensions over there at new highs
[11:59] <+Inertia> I just saw the announcement yesterday by the South Korean president about cutting economic ties
[11:59] <+rickf> cutting diplomatic ties = not good
[12:00] <+Inertia> and this morning the north said that they will go to war if the south puts ships in it's teritory
[12:00] <+rickf> yup
[12:00] <+Inertia> what diplomatic ties? they are officially @ war for a million years
[12:01] <@wrbtrader> South Korean ships do "intentional intrusions" into North Korean waters to test how the North will respond...
[12:01] <+rickf> they have representatives and back-channel deals
[12:02] <@wrbtrader> However, North shooting at them is ridiculous.
[12:02] <@wrbtrader> Just giving the middle finger should be enough :)
[12:02] <+rickf> the north is nuts to begin with
[12:02] <+Sidhartha> I think Kim Young Il wants to go out with a bang
[12:03] <@wrbtrader> If the U.S. miliatry was so heavily involved with the South...
[12:03] <+Inertia> I wish there was some super duper power from another planret that would position a big laser gun above earth and vaporize a few cities if people on earth don't start behaving
[12:03] <@wrbtrader> Another mega War would have occurred by now.
[12:03] <@wrbtrader> Maybe even nuclear
[12:03] <+Time4now> Before I left the air force, the military encouraged the relocation of us troop families to south korea
[12:04] <+Time4now> they were trying to make it seem like a family destination
[12:04] <@wrbtrader> Time4now...that did that when I was in the Army for only for the 2nd termers
[12:05] <@wrbtrader> I stayed single because the Korean girls are hot :)
[12:05] <+Time4now> nice
[12:05] <+Inertia> i hope your wife does not look into your mirc logs :)
[12:05] <+Time4now> I never went there, but could have easily gone if I put in for it
[12:07] <@wrbtrader> Seoul is great.
[12:07] <@wrbtrader> If you like New York...you'll like Seoul
[12:07] <@wrbtrader> :)
[12:07] <+Time4now> never been to new york :/
[12:09] <@wrbtrader> By the way, usually the military ships at the line do 24 hour videotaping.
[12:10] <+Time4now> north korea has made so many threats,
[12:10] <@wrbtrader> Bet my life one of the military sides has a recorded video of what actually happen.
[12:10] <+Time4now> we will never know if/when they mean it
[12:11] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...that's the thing about those countries like North Korea, Iran et cetera...you never know when they will eventually do something stupid...really big stupid.
[12:12] <@wrbtrader> keeps the world looking over it's shoulder
[12:13] <+Inertia> where would u guys say is the most peaceful place on earth with a half decent weather?
[12:13] <@wrbtrader> Quebec :)
[12:13] <+Inertia> naaaaaaaaaaa
[12:13] <+Inertia> 2 cold
[12:13] <+Time4now> oklahoma?
[12:13] <+Inertia> and the Party Quebequis is nuts
[12:14] <+Inertia> never been 2 Oklahoma
[12:14] <@wrbtrader> In the U.S. I would say Nebraska, Montana and Maine
[12:14] <+Inertia> how about not in the US?
[12:14] <+Time4now> oklahoma was a joke..
[12:15] <+Inertia> :) oh
[12:15] <+Inertia> saw the movie though
[12:15] <@wrbtrader> Been to those states heavily...folks still go to bed with their doors unlock and cops still hanging out at the drive-in instead of doing their patrols :)
[12:16] <+Time4now> 1min tf has almost a mirror down up move
[12:16] <+Inertia> so it is like the police in Mtl - If u want a policeman , u call Dunkin Doghnuts
[12:17] <@wrbtrader> Seriously...no safe place on this planet. If you manage to find a "no crime" place...it probably has something in the weather that kills (Hurricanes, Tsaumis, Volcanic eruptions, killer animals et cetera).
[12:17] <@wrbtrader> :)
[12:18] <+Inertia> there was a story about a British couple who wanted a peaceful place and they got to the Faulkland Islands just before the war between England and Argentina
[12:18] <@wrbtrader> oouch
[12:18] <+Inertia> true story
[12:19] <@wrbtrader> Bet they never used that real estate agent again
[12:19] <+Inertia> :))))
[12:20] <+Inertia> there must b similarities between the reason most people lose $$ trading , and the fact that there are so many conflicts around the world
[12:20] <+Sidhartha> what... fear & greed...?
[12:20] <+Inertia> maybe
[12:21] <+Sidhartha> what I find strange is, why does our perception of time change depending on whether we are having a good time or bad time...?
[12:22] <+Sidhartha> i.e. when I'm in a position, 5 mins can seem like about an hour
[12:22] <+Sidhartha> ;-)
[12:23] <+rickf> is all relatived
[12:24] <+Sidhartha> will OIH fill it's gap... getting closer
[12:24] <+Inertia> OIH??
[12:24] <+Sidhartha> oil etf
[12:24] <+rickf> oil services etf
[12:51] <@wrbtrader> After the big gap down at the open in the Eminis...the world focus is still on the Euro :(
[12:52] <+Sidhartha> There's not been too many trading opps since the sell off this morning...
[12:52] <+Sidhartha> a scalp here and there... not much else
[12:55] <@wrbtrader> The first brokerage firm has crossed into the "social network" for real trades...
[12:55] <+rickf> okay - off for a late lunch, and then out for the rest of the day -- the TOS guys are passing through town and I'm going to visit their seminar this evening
[12:55] <+Sidhartha> wrbtrader... meaning...?
[12:55] <+rickf> wrbtrader - TOS has had 'mytrades' for social networking for a while, actually
[12:56] <@wrbtrader> Zecco Trade (stocks) is now linked to stocktwits of twitter.
[12:56] <+rickf> ok, stocktwits is much bigger than mytrade
[12:56] <@wrbtrader> Simply, any symbol that comes across stocktwits in any twitter or stocktwit conversation you can trade it if it's a stock
[12:57] <+rickf> interesting
[12:57] <@wrbtrader> The trade instantly at the same time gets post live in real-time on twitter for the entire world to see.
[12:57] <+rickf> my first thought -- boy, a hacker could have fun hijacking browser sessions with that
[12:58] <@wrbtrader> rumor now that other brokerage firms like futures are looking to get a deal like that on twitter
[12:58] <@wrbtrader> I'm sure they watch what happens to Zecco for at least a year before deciding if to do the same
[12:59] * rickf is now known as rickf_away
[13:00] <@wrbtrader> Maintain an account > 25k...get 10 free roundtrips each month.
[13:01] <@wrbtrader> The first futures firm that joins such...I'll open a small account with them just to see what it's like.

[13:35] <+codehead> long NQ 1781.25 <paper>
[13:35] <+codehead> a gamble, but reasonable
[13:36] <+codehead> exit NQ -
[13:36] <+codehead> 50 <paper>
[13:36] <+codehead> -.50
[13:37] <+codehead> too iffy, needs to break up or down
[13:37] <+codehead> NQ needs to get back over 1785
[13:40] <+codehead> ES stil has buyers just under 1050
[13:43] <+Sidhartha> something stopping the market selling off...
[13:43] <+Sidhartha> oil feels weak
[14:08] <+codehead> long NQ 1781.50 <paper>
[14:10] <+codehead> exit NQ half +1.50 <paper>
[14:11] <+codehead> didnt' wait for best entry... long frame starting to cross over for up

[14:14] <+codehead> as we near floor close
[14:15] <+codehead> exit NQ +4.50 <paper>
[14:25] <+Inertia> [13:43:15] <Sidhartha> something stopping the market selling off... >>> people willing to pay higher prices :)
[14:28] <+Sidhartha> obviously
[14:28] <+Sidhartha> ;-)
[14:28] <+Sidhartha> I was talking on a technical level... something probably obvious that I wasn't spotting

[14:34] <+Inertia> i don't think so. u saw everything there is 2 c and missed nothing
[14:35] <+Inertia> EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
[14:35] <+Inertia> my new moto
[14:35] <+Inertia> I am trying 2 detach myself from all biases
[14:36] <+Inertia> I think this detached attitude is what makes Mark successful.
[14:36] <+Sidhartha> i am pretty biasless generally... i think it's a mistake to attach oneself too strongly to with a bull or bear feeling
[14:36] <+Sidhartha> I agree
[14:37] <+Inertia> if it does not go up than it must go down
[14:37] <+Inertia> and vice versa
[14:37] <+Inertia> very difficult 2 do because of EGO problems
[14:37] <+Sidhartha> however, on days like today, where there seems not so many obvious trading signals, I guess one (I) try and look harder to see if I missed anything obvious...
[14:37] <+codehead> there were a lot of buyers [packed in the .500 area
[14:38] <+Inertia> if you are biased upwords and it goes down >>> u were wrong - it is difficult to admit that u r wrong
[14:47] <+Inertia> TICK @ +1200 - lift off
[14:48] <+Inertia> wow almost 1400
[14:48] <+Inertia> on the way 2 close the gap
[14:48] <+Inertia> unless we don't
[14:50] <+JimL1> all eminis mooving together - very powerful
[14:51] <@wrbtrader> I'm in the middle of a storm...if the lightning gets too bad...I'll shut down the desktops for the day and only have my laptop open for #FuturesTrades
[14:51] <+Inertia> a text book scenario would be for ES to get back to 1058.5 and then lift off again
[14:54] <@wrbtrader> Long TF @ 633.20 -> small size
[14:54] <@wrbtrader> 1 only

[15:06] <@wrbtrader> trail tighten
[15:06] <@wrbtrader> price action not as fast as the prior recent trades
[15:07] <@wrbtrader> Exited all TF Long @ 633.20 --> + 1.4
[15:08] <@wrbtrader> hoping for a retracement for another Long entry
[15:14] <@wrbtrader> Shorts TF @ 632.30 -> small size
[15:14] <@wrbtrader> 3 only

-------------------------

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods and different perspective of the markets. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisments for guest visitors. Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
