#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods and different perspective of the markets as long as they do not violate our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy.

Session Start: Wed Oct 21 09:19:23 2009
Session Ident: #futurestrades
[09:19] * Now talking in #futurestrades
[09:19] <@X> [NihabaAshi] Announcement: The new trade posting script v3.7 (replaces v3.6) is posted at your forum in the "Announcements" thread.
[09:27] <Forex2stay> morning all
[09:27] <rickf> gm all
[09:27] <+codehead> short ES 1085.75 <paper> 1.50 stop
[09:28] <+codehead> if break that, probably gap filll first
[09:29] <drt> gm
[09:32] <+codehead> stopped -1.50 <paper>
[09:34] <@wrbtrader> Once again...Eurex and Eminis made another strong directional movement in the overnight trading session...
[09:34] <@wrbtrader> Taking away some regular hours opportunities :(
[09:35] <+codehead> short ES 1087.50 <paper> stop 1093.25
[09:35] <+codehead> testing different strategy
[09:36] <pdays> Long TF @ 611.9
[09:37] <+pdays> Exited all TF Long @ 612.7 --> + 0.8
[09:44] <@wrbtrader> The 5min chart shows "straight up" so far.
[09:44] <@wrbtrader> No retracement
[09:49] <+rickf> i'm back to time charts for the time being
[09:50] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> You must read #FuturesTrades purpose and benefits @ viewtopic.php?f=5&t=36 and TOU policy @ viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55 to prevent any misunderstandings.
[09:53] <@wrbtrader> Can someone please explain this to me...when another trader elsewhere post they just Shorted the SPX @ 1095...how can they short the SPX Index considering they are not talking about the futures (ES) nor the exchange traded fund (SPY) ?
[09:53] <+rickf> SPX options
[09:53] <+rickf> ?
[09:54] <@wrbtrader> ok but I can't confirm that considering I don't know where the options price is at.
[09:54] <+rickf> (options on the index, not options on the etf)
[09:54] <+rickf> SPX is at 1097.97 right now
[09:54] <+rickf> 1097.09
[09:55] <@wrbtrader> Ok
[09:55] <+rickf> hope it helped ;)
[09:55] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...I always get confused by those types of trade posts in the futures thread
[09:55] <@wrbtrader> Not sure why those guys just don't post that stuff in the options thread
[09:56] <+rickf> no kidding -- when i hear "shorted the spx" i think short the ES lol
[09:56] <+rickf> is why when i post an spx option trade here i make it clear it's an index option and not the emini ... less confusion
[09:56] <@wrbtrader> :)
[10:00] <+drt> l es 92.50
[10:03] <@wrbtrader> That's a short squeeze volatility spike because a minute ago I got a short signal...glad I ignored it because it just didn't feel right.
[10:05] <+drt> cl es 94.75
[10:06] <@wrbtrader> Only Long entry was when I was still in bed around 0745am est :(
[10:09] <JimL14> its looks like its ddriven primarily by the usd fall (which has completely retraced all its advance over the last 24 hrs)
[10:10] <+JimL14> had turnaround signal @ 7:00 & confirm on break of the swings @ 9:30 & hesitated for a little too long
[10:17] <+JimL14> usd bounced @ 75.30 & rattling around near lows, watch for breaks below 75.25-20 may push everything uo & out (carefull on shorting this squeeze)
[10:24] <@wrbtrader> That's some power move in Eurex and Emini futures while the Gold and Oil went up just a little in comparison
[10:24] <+JimL14> watching usd above 75.40-45 for help on a pullback
[10:27] <+JimL14> agree wrbtrader, I didn;t see the oil & gold moving & started looking for other drivers & came up with the usd impact, with media focus on usd adding to my correlation list as of this am
[10:30] <@wrbtrader> Yep...strong move in Forex currencies EurUsd and CME EuroFX 6E...their obviously the key markets to watch as of lately for intermarket analysis while trading Emini futures.
[10:31] <@wrbtrader> In fact, I now have EurUsd, 6E and U.S. Dollar Index next to Gold and Oil charts on one monitor.
[10:33] <@wrbtrader> EurUsd, 6E and U.S. Dollar Index should be able to give us clues when that horrible low volatility trading range is going to appear and help avoid bad trades in comparison to watching Oil and Gold by themselves
[10:36] <@wrbtrader> Long ES @ 1096.00 -> medium size
[10:36] <@wrbtrader> 4 only
[10:41] <JimL28> Long TF @ 620.2
[10:43] <@wrbtrader> Exited all ES Long @ 1098.25 --> + 2.25
[10:43] <+rickf> vn
[10:44] <+JimL28> Exited all TF Long @ 621.7 --> + 1.5
[10:44] <@wrbtrader> Would've been a lot nice had I been trading around 0745am est
[10:45] <@wrbtrader> Early bird got the worm :(
[10:45] <+rickf> ;)
[10:46] <+JimL14> usd 75.22
[10:47] <+JimL14> eurusd 1.5010
[10:48] <+rickf> yeesh
[10:52] <+JimL14> gold & oil got a bounce & caught up (with the 10:30 #'s, #'s not important this week - just the news time) so all are now consolidating @ highs for (hopefully) next signal of volatility
[10:53] <+JimL14> gold & oil were lagging shich concerned me on jumping in earlier, learned something new this am (add currencies back in the correlation mix)
[10:54] <+JimL14> shich = which
[10:57] <+JimL14> i see a lot of big blocks jumping back & forth in the DOM ladder @ these levels, i think = indecision
[10:58] <+rickf> long es 1096 paper
[11:04] <@wrbtrader> Emini ES ($ES_F) currently testing a key price area via WRB Analysis.
[11:05] <Nesi> hi all
[11:10] <+JimL14> 10:30 oil news event gave push to news highs, then profit taking pullback (missed by a few ticks short) now looking for retest of higher levels & another volatility break or failure & short oppty
[11:11] <@wrbtrader> For those that use twitter and like the U.K http://www.ft.com
[11:11] <@wrbtrader> They have a twitter @ http://twitter.com/FTfinancenews
[11:12] <+JimL14> looks like no retest - missed whole short oppty- way too bad - out for now
[11:12] <+rickf> long es 1094 paper (add)
[11:16] <@wrbtrader> EurUsd and 6E looking a little bullish for a quick day trade right now
[11:17] <+Nesi> long E6 149.90
[11:28] <+rickf> exit es 1095 b/e paper
[11:29] <+Nesi> out E6 150.03
[11:31] <@wrbtrader> Nice EuroFX 6E trade
[11:39] <+rickf> lol - two concurrent entries on my newsfeed: 'XYZ raised to neutral by..." and then "XYZ downgraded by..."
[11:39] <+rickf> the scam of wall street 'analysis'
[11:48] <+JimL28> Shorts TF @ 618.5
[11:49] <@wrbtrader> Shorts ES @ 1093.75 -> medium size
[11:49] <@wrbtrader> 4 only
[11:51] <@wrbtrader> Covered all ES Short @ 1092.50 --> + 1.25
[11:51] <+JimL14> finally caught the short i missed 3 times :->
[11:53] <@wrbtrader> be back later around 2:30pm est so that I can avoid the chop or low volatility price action.
[11:53] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> You must read #FuturesTrades purpose and benefits @ viewtopic.php?f=5&t=36 and TOU policy @ viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55 to prevent any misunderstandings.

[15:37] <+JimL14> too frustrating- missed the tf break & had not seen a good pm runner in days; waited for better entry, bad decision
[15:38] <+rickf> wow --
[15:38] <+rickf> "Under the plan, which will be announced in the next few days by the Treasury Department, the seven companies that received the most assistance will have to cut the cash payouts to their 25 best-paid executives by an average of about 90 percent from last year. For many of the executives, the cash they would have received will be replaced by stock that they will be restricted from selling immediately."

[15:48] <+JimL14> 1.5 pts scalp out of a 12+ pt drop, not good, thks for the info rickf, better to know the whys/wherefores ;->
[15:49] <+rickf> happens to us all :(
[15:50] <+JimL14> i chased that short & for 10+ ticks; had to close quickly even to get that
[15:50] <+rickf> is the TF still jumpy? it was a few months ago when i played with it last
[15:53] <+JimL14> tf only makes sense to scalp & hope for a runner, too much backfilling out fo the blue still, today was A++ tf day, too bad I blew twice
[15:54] <+rickf> i see
[15:56] <+JimL14> i can't trade it like jbuch & wrbtrader trade es, if tf sits there's not enough volume to exchange hands, it starts to range up/down, so entries have to be close to reversals & then need separation.
[15:56] <@wrbtrader> That's one big rug yank but then again...it's due for a little retracement in comparison to the gains for the past few weeks
[15:57] <+rickf> months
[15:57] <@wrbtrader> :)
[15:57] <+rickf> wonder if they'll buy the dip tomorrow ... if not, that may portend sentiment change?
[15:57] <+rickf> every other pullback's been bought back up
[15:58] <TraderG> my bet is that we are done for a while but then again the trend will last longer than I will have money to be right by going against it
[15:58] <+rickf> ;)
[16:02] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> You must read #FuturesTrades purpose and benefits @ viewtopic.php?f=5&t=36 and TOU policy @ viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55 to prevent any misunderstandings.
[16:06] <+JimL14> had to step away, will watch gold, oil, & forex overnight for clues on damage re: exec compensation, seems like a narrow issue the is overhyped right now
[16:08] <+rickf> okies out for the day - see y'all tomorrow
[16:09] <+JimL14> its only limited to bailout companies & until they payback to govmt - agree its a bad precendent, but seems constrained doesn't permanently injure any operations going foward - will probably retrace the whole move down
[16:12] <+JimL14> nq didn't break low of Day or Yesterday, all should recover unless there's more bad news from Earnings or other

-------------------------

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own methods and different perspective of the markets. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisments for guest visitors. More information about #FuturesTrades @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/FuturesTradesChatRoom.htm

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Last of all, prior to December 1st 2008, archive logs of #FuturesTrades is stored at the below link.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
