##TheStrategyLab primary purpose is for you to post your WRB Analysis, post your price action analysis, ask real-time questions about WRB Analysis or post your real-time trades in a timestamp environment...the free chat room is a trade journal of your trading day (thoughts and trades). In fact, if you think the only feedback you need is your broker statements...the free chat room will be a waste of your time and you will increase the odds of failing at trading.

The free chat room is located on the Freenode IRC network along with being a serious professional trading chat room for traders that want to talk about your use of WRB Analysis (e.g. Contracting Volatility, WRBs, WRB Hidden GAPs, WRB Zone, WRB/WRB Hidden GAP profit targets, Key Market Events, Reaction Highs/Lows, Expanding Volatility, WRB Zone, R area of WRB Zone, S area of WRB Zone) merged with your trade methods to improve the performance of their trade methods regardless if you're a position trader, swing trader or day trader. Therefore, you're welcome to use the free chat room to ask questions about WRB Analysis, post your real-time price action trading analysis involving WRB Analysis merged with your own trade methods, post real-time trades or talk about general market issues impacting today's price action involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners, experience, part-time, full-time) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to help develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading.

##TheStrategyLab Chat Room Review - This is not a signal calling trading room. We have no interest in trading rooms where a head trader tells other traders when to buy and sell because the business model for such isn't suitable for helping traders to succeed as independent traders. This chat room is free and many years ago it was started by users of WRB Analysis. Our job is to moderate (keep the peace between members) the chat room and to answer any questions involving WRB Analysis. Once again, the purpose of the free chat room is for you to use as a trade journal of your WRB Analysis or real-time trades with time stamp archive....giving you a better understanding of your broker statements from one trade to the next trade when you review your thoughts and how you interacted with the markets on any given trading day in the past. Therefore, if you use the chat room...its highly recommended you post messages that reflect what you see in the price action on your monitors so that the chat room becomes your diary to correlate with your broker statements. Thus, the usefulness of ##TheStrategyLab chat room is determined via your participation in the chat room.

Yet, you're not require to use the free chat room as a trade journal to get help with your trading. Instead, as recommended by some users of WRB Analysis, you can use professional journal services such as tradervue, edgewonk, tradebench or tradingdiarypro for your statistical analysis in combo with our chat room or your private thread to discuss with us the statistical analysis of your trading so that we can help you to improve your use of WRB Analysis. You can then request a private thread for you to share the professional journal analysis of your trading with us for us to review. Therefore, you have many choices. You can use our chat room (you maintain your own statistics) as a trade journal or you can use professional trade journal services to do the work for you.

Also, do not attempt to use our chat room as a signal calling trade room via trying to mimic (copy) trades posted by members. If you do such, you will be KICKED from the chat room without warning. In fact, most of the negative commentary about TheStrategyLab website is by traders after we've removed them from the free chat room, removed them from the forum or removed them from the website for violating our terms of use policy.

Quote:
The chat room is only for traders learning or applying concepts of WRB Analysis. In addition, traders that use ##TheStrategyLab are required to post either one WRB Analysis price action commentary involving any key concept from the free study guide, one real-time trade or one general trading related commentary per day they log-in to the chat room. Yet, if the trader decides to post real-time trades (simulator or real-money)...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently log-in and not post any price action commentary involving WRB Analysis or post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reviewing (reading) the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding price action trading. To qualify for access to our free ##TheStrategyLab chat room that's located on the Freenode IRC network...please follow the instructions at the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

[09:34:27] <Tigerman______> not sure if re-enter long here
[09:34:31] <Tigerman______> vola still slow
[09:34:37] <Tigerman______> oil news later
[09:40:38] <Tigerman______> I did the re-enter ...got a loss :(
[09:42:16] <wrbtrader> Good morning all
[09:42:29] <Tigerman______> hi wrbtrader
[09:42:41] <wrbtrader> Late start for me...I got an important phone call at the market open :(
[09:46:37] <wrbtrader> Straight up for the Emini futures since 0900am est
[09:48:09] <Donnin______> yep
[09:48:25] <Donnin______> how can i use nq to trade es
[09:48:51] <Donnin______> yesterday cl and es
[09:49:06] <Donnin______> where in same setups
[09:49:23] <Donnin______> in the moring session
[09:50:40] <wrbtrader> Donnin...ES and NQ are correlated
[09:51:01] <Donnin______> i hear the other member here say nq is the leader
[09:51:16] <wrbtrader> In the trading information...I use the term sometimes "sister trading instruments"
[09:51:21] <wrbtrader> No
[09:51:37] <wrbtrader> They go back n forth about who is the leader
[09:51:55] <Donnin______> right
[09:51:57] <wrbtrader> Really doesn't matter though
[09:52:18] <wrbtrader> I only use them one simple way
[09:52:46] <wrbtrader> If I'm trying Emini ES and the price action sucks (not giving me good WRB Analysis info)...
[09:53:39] <wrbtrader> I will use other correlated price actions like Emini NQ, Emini YM, SPY, SPX to look for WRB Analysis info or Trade Signals and then I'll take the trades in Emini ES
[09:54:02] <wrbtrader> That's only an issue in "low volatility" environments
[09:55:01] <wrbtrader> Right now theres that strange inverse price action between Emini ES and Emini NQ
[09:55:29] <wrbtrader> Someone (one of them) will try to catch up to the other one
[09:55:56] <wrbtrader> NQ will either move back higher and fast or ES will move back down and fast
[09:56:09] <Tigerman______> wrbtrader... meanwhile VXX at fresh new record low
[09:56:27] <wrbtrader> Yeah, VIX is poor (still is)
[09:56:41] <Donnin______> i see
[09:56:55] <Tigerman______> poor context for everyone
[09:57:15] <Tigerman______> new trader need extreme care
[09:57:32] <wrbtrader> VIX poor volatility and the impact it has on trade opportunities...
[09:57:43] <Tigerman______> stay sidelines seems one of best things to do
[09:58:16] <wrbtrader> Its the prime reason why I don't complain about all the medical appointments I have this year so far after my hospitalization last year
[09:58:35] <wrbtrader> I don't think I've been missing much :)
[09:58:50] <Tigerman______> yeah
[10:00:12] <wrbtrader> Tigerman...you looking at the VIX futures or the VIX Index ?
[10:00:41] <Tigerman______> both plus VXX etf
[10:00:50] <wrbtrader> ok
[10:07:22] <wrbtrader> Shorts Emini ES @ 2465.25 -> small size
[10:07:25] <wrbtrader> high risk trade...its going "against" the obvious uptrend
[10:07:30] <wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[10:08:10] <Donnin______> cl at the breakdown level from yesterday
[10:08:39] <wrbtrader> I entered the trade 1+1+1 (scaled in) because I had some problems resetting my contracts to 3
[10:09:22] <wrbtrader> Will use small profit target because its a trade against the trend
[10:09:43] <wrbtrader> unless volatility suddenly shows up to take it lower...fast
[10:10:30] <wrbtrader> KME @ 1030am est
[10:11:26] <wrbtrader> Covered all Emini ES Short @ 2464.00 --> + 1.25
[10:11:37] <wrbtrader> not a WRB pt1
[10:12:07] <wrbtrader> random exit
[10:13:21] <wrbtrader> Actually, not random
[10:13:57] <Tigerman______> Es testing a support are here
[10:14:13] <Tigerman______> formed at 9:40 9:50 am
[10:14:16] <wrbtrader> I had remember the 15min chart R area of its most recent Up WRB Hidden Gap was @ 2464.00
[10:14:30] <wrbtrader> That's where I cover the position
[10:14:45] <wrbtrader> It just wasn't a WRB pt1
[10:17:39] <Donnin______> sh cl
[10:17:44] <Donnin______> 76
[10:18:40] <Donnin______> only think in way is prior wekly highs
[10:19:09] <Donnin______> weeks
[10:19:27] <Donnin______> at 74
[10:24:12] <Donnin______> of course 74 holds
[10:29:43] <wrbtrader> We may be seeing (the past few months) a shift of many retail traders from the S&P 500 into other trading instruments
[10:30:25] <Donnin______> why u say that?
[10:30:38] <wrbtrader> That's deceptive because most traditional resources follow the money OUT or INTO the S&P 500 to determine the sentiment of traders
[10:31:07] <wrbtrader> Simply, traders just may be pulling their money out and putting it into another trading vehicle
[10:31:49] <wrbtrader> Bloomberg is the one I know that monitors the flow of investors and traders in and out of the market
[10:32:32] <Donnin______> sh cl
[10:32:36] <Donnin______> 18
[10:33:51] <wrbtrader> Volatility spike upwards in Crude Oil CL futures...not a tiny reaction in the Emini futures :(
[10:33:53] <Tigerman______> lg CL 47.23
[10:35:27] <Tigerman______> exit all @ 47.35 +10 tk
[10:35:56] <Tigerman______> big spike in oil @ 10:31
[10:36:14] <Tigerman______> small size x me in Cl
[10:36:27] <Tigerman______> that barely compensate for my loss on ES today
[10:36:57] <wrbtrader> Is CL still on the M contract...I got data problems with that ?
[10:36:59] <Tigerman______> profitable ... just commission destroy all x me most was tick chart scalps
[10:37:17] <wrbtrader> Taking forever to load
[10:37:48] <Tigerman______> mine is continuos july
[10:38:06] <wrbtrader> Usually I have it set to "continous" but it reset itself to the M contract :(
[10:39:30] <wrbtrader> Now the Eminis are reacting
[10:51:48] <Tigerman______> Nq chart in 3min is a ziz zag :(
[10:52:30] <Tigerman______> another day to do something else
[11:05:27] <wrbtrader> VIX doing nothing...even that's bad in itself...just as bad if it was range bound
[11:06:19] <Tigerman______> I think we are fight with robot
[11:06:35] <Tigerman______> just some algos working out clients orders
[11:06:43] <wrbtrader> They must be boring robots
[11:07:10] <Tigerman______> yeah they do not care untill they rebel as in terminator :)
[11:08:57] <wrbtrader> There's been many articles since 2014 about the "steep declines" via the number of clients at brokerage firms (stocks and futures)
[11:09:46] <Tigerman______> yeah trading as retail is gone in this context
[11:10:59] <wrbtrader> FCMs getting hit the hardest
[11:12:04] <wrbtrader> I know the CFTC and NFA use to put out numbers on such...I remember seeing graphs by them about it.
[11:12:26] <wrbtrader> Can't remember where I specifically saw it nor where to find info for 2017
[11:14:42] <wrbtrader> For awhile, they (FCMs) were blaming the volatility issue due to the "increasing retrictions" put on them by the CFTC and NFA...restrictions that had tripled in just a few years.
[11:15:57] <wrbtrader> Some even blame the market problems on "low interest rates"
[11:17:45] <wrbtrader> There's also a big decline in the number of FCMs
[11:18:03] <wrbtrader> many have been pushed out of the business
[11:18:43] <Tigerman______> if one can milk money intraday in this jun k ... when (I hope it happen) vola re-start he makes a kill :)
[11:19:56] <wrbtrader> Just grab the single base because the days of the home runs and triples are gone now. Gotta wait for volatility to be high to try for the home runs and triples :)
[11:21:01] <wrbtrader> In fact, I think trying to hit the big trades during low volatility conditions will usually result in losses
[11:21:57] <wrbtrader> Its a tough thing to do...train the mind to exit profitable trades at a small profit
[11:22:24] <wrbtrader> Most still stuck on comparing today's market conditions to those of past years...its a natural thing to do
[12:04:44] <wrbtrader> It just pssss me off to now see consistently how smooth Emini NQ futures is when it decides to move versus the poor price movement in Emini ES futures
[12:05:15] <wrbtrader> Its almost as if the former Emini TF traders...most of them moved into the Emini NQ futures
[12:05:45] <wrbtrader> Oddly...Emini ES still has the better liquidity
[12:06:40] <wrbtrader> This is a reality check for me because I always had thought that liquidity can be seen in the volatility
[12:07:13] <wrbtrader> Thus, if a trading instrument had more volatility than another trading instrument...
[12:07:27] <wrbtrader> I had assume it would also have better liquidity
[12:07:42] <wrbtrader> I now know that's not true
[12:08:40] <Tigerman______> higher vola = lower liquidity
[12:09:21] <Tigerman______> because not enought contracts to fill all the request
[12:09:37] <wrbtrader> Yeah...maybe
[12:09:51] <Tigerman______> only in Hft days and robo algos it is more complicated then that
[12:10:13] <Tigerman______> anyway ES is the best for liquidity
[12:11:03] <Tigerman______> scary part it needs big size to gain something for small moves
[12:11:31] <Tigerman______> if something goes wrong you have big capital at risk
[12:17:18] <wrbtrader> Long Emini ES @ 2467.00 -> small size
[12:17:23] <wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[12:17:55] <wrbtrader> Emini ES futures inside the range of a prior recent long upper shadow interval
[12:18:22] <wrbtrader> actually near the high of that long upper shadow
[12:19:49] <wrbtrader> Unfortunately the interval body itself (close to open) is small...too small but the long upper shadow on top is enough
[12:20:08] <Tigerman______> I have to go
[12:20:13] <wrbtrader> No support for this trade from other Emini futures
[12:20:15] <Tigerman______> take care all see next time
[12:20:28] <wrbtrader> take care
[12:29:32] <wrbtrader> Emini ES trying to follow Emini NQ now
[12:30:02] <wrbtrader> for a few minutes during my trade...ES was trying to push higher while NQ was trying to push lower
[12:30:19] <wrbtrader> Both now insync lower
[12:44:59] <wrbtrader> ES stuck in concrete :(
[12:45:40] <wrbtrader> I'm not expecting much which is why I only put 2 contracts on this trade
[13:12:03] <wrbtrader> Exited all Emini ES Long @ 2468.00 --> + 1
[13:12:24] <wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached on the small volatility spike
[14:55:52] <wrbtrader> Emini ES futures is only a few ticks higher than it was during the exit of my last trade
[14:56:19] <wrbtrader> Simply, not much has happen...snail slug pace movement
[15:14:46] <wrbtrader> Emini NQ nice retracement to drop below the S area of its most recent Up WRB Hidden Gap interval...Emini ES only dropped a few ticks :(

##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader (position trading, swing trading, day trading) can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the free chat room nor do you need to be a price action trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience traders in price action trading.

The purpose of ##TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Quote:
The free chat room is not a signal calling trading room and we do not believe in the business model of a head trader telling other traders when to buy and sell. Its a flawed approach to trading in which a trader can not learn how to be a successful independent trader.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.
