##TheStrategyLab primary purpose is for you to post your WRB Analysis, post your price action analysis, ask real-time questions about WRB Analysis or post your real-time trades in a timestamp environment...the free chat room is a trade journal of your trading day (thoughts and trades). In fact, if you think the only feedback you need is your broker statements...the free chat room will be a waste of your time and you will increase the odds of failing at trading.

The free chat room is located on the Freenode IRC network along with being a serious professional trading chat room for traders that want to talk about your use of WRB Analysis (e.g. Contracting Volatility, WRBs, WRB Hidden GAPs, WRB Zone, WRB/WRB Hidden GAP profit targets, Key Market Events, Reaction Highs/Lows, Expanding Volatility, WRB Zone, R area of WRB Zone, S area of WRB Zone) merged with your trade methods to improve the performance of their trade methods regardless if you're a position trader, swing trader or day trader. Therefore, you're welcome to use the free chat room to ask questions about WRB Analysis, post your real-time price action trading analysis involving WRB Analysis merged with your own trade methods, post real-time trades or talk about general market issues impacting today's price action involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners, experience, part-time, full-time) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to help develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading.

##TheStrategyLab Chat Room Review - This is not a signal calling trading room. We have no interest in trading rooms where a head trader tells other traders when to buy and sell because the business model for such isn't suitable for helping traders to succeed as independent traders. This chat room is free and many years ago it was started by users of WRB Analysis. Our job is to moderate (keep the peace between members) the chat room and to answer any questions involving WRB Analysis. Once again, the purpose of the free chat room is for you to use as a trade journal of your WRB Analysis or real-time trades with time stamp archive....giving you a better understanding of your broker statements from one trade to the next trade when you review your thoughts and how you interacted with the markets on any given trading day in the past. Therefore, if you use the chat room...its highly recommended you post messages that reflect what you see in the price action on your monitors so that the chat room becomes your diary to correlate with your broker statements. Thus, the usefulness of ##TheStrategyLab chat room is determined via your participation in the chat room.

Yet, you're not require to use the free chat room as a trade journal to get help with your trading. Instead, as recommended by some users of WRB Analysis, you can use professional journal services such as tradervue, edgewonk, tradebench or tradingdiarypro for your statistical analysis in combo with our chat room or your private thread to discuss with us the statistical analysis of your trading so that we can help you to improve your use of WRB Analysis. You can then request a private thread for you to share the professional journal analysis of your trading with us for us to review. Therefore, you have many choices. You can use our chat room (you maintain your own statistics) as a trade journal or you can use professional trade journal services to do the work for you.

Also, do not attempt to use our chat room as a signal calling trade room via trying to mimic (copy) trades posted by members. If you do such, you will be KICKED from the chat room without warning. In fact, most of the negative commentary about TheStrategyLab website is by traders after we've removed them from the free chat room, removed them from the forum or removed them from the website for violating our terms of use policy.

Quote:
The chat room is only for traders learning or applying concepts of WRB Analysis. In addition, traders that use ##TheStrategyLab are required to post either one WRB Analysis price action commentary involving any key concept from the free study guide, one real-time trade or one general trading related commentary per day they log-in to the chat room. Yet, if the trader decides to post real-time trades (simulator or real-money)...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently log-in and not post any price action commentary involving WRB Analysis or post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reviewing (reading) the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding price action trading. To qualify for access to our free ##TheStrategyLab chat room that's located on the Freenode IRC network...please follow the instructions at the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

[09:11:35] <wrbtrader> Good morning all
[09:11:51] <wrbtrader> Hi Donnin...its been a long time since you've been in here
[09:12:26] <Donnin______> yeah that i true
[09:12:52] <wrbtrader> Reminder - The archive chat logs are posted @ index.php
[09:13:00] <wrbtrader> Usually they are up to day
[09:13:08] <wrbtrader> meant up to date
[09:14:53] <wrbtrader> Its amazing that I've been maintaining these logs since 2002
[09:15:13] <wrbtrader> That's 15 years of archive chat logs
[09:21:29] <wrbtrader> Wow...I'm still amazed by so many people still missing after that terror attack
[09:22:21] <wrbtrader> Don't the UK have morgues where family can go in to look at the dead to see if their loved ones are there ?
[09:23:29] <wrbtrader> Entire situation just sad
[09:25:28] <werner1> gm all
[09:26:31] <wrbtrader> KME's today @ 1000am, 1030am and 1400pm est
[09:37:03] <Tigerman______> gm all
[09:37:16] <Tigerman______> sh nq 5714.75
[09:37:23] <wrbtrader> Hi Tigerman
[09:37:43] <Tigerman______> exit all @ 12.75
[09:38:23] <werner1> hi tigerman
[09:38:32] <Tigerman______> this trade hi werner
[09:38:36] <Tigerman______> hi wrbtrader
[09:40:12] <Tigerman______> I looked at overnight chart
[09:40:43] <Tigerman______> I note now the downtrend not correct x mt trade just sell pressure
[09:41:08] <wrbtrader> Emini futures has retraced back into the range of an earlier contracting volatility
[09:43:04] <wrbtrader> OPEC Committee Recommends Nine-Month Oil Cuts Extension (Bloomberg) @ https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... -extension
[09:47:13] <Tigerman______> I m interested if Nq or dax breaks thir low
[09:55:12] <wrbtrader> volatility not much now and hopefully the 1000am KME will heat things up a little going into the 1030am KME
[10:07:02] <wrbtrader> Looks like the 1000am KME has no volatility reaction
[10:15:13] <wrbtrader> Wow...a boring opening 45 minutes
[10:16:31] <Donnin______> should we only trade when there are kme
[10:16:51] <Donnin______> to reduce trading in chop
[10:19:33] <wrbtrader> No
[10:19:45] <wrbtrader> Only trade when there's volatility
[10:20:28] <wrbtrader> A KME doesn't ensure there will be volatility especially when the overall volatility is low
[10:20:50] <Donnin______> and how do we know when there is volatility should i only trade when the vix is above a certain price
[10:23:09] <wrbtrader> VIX @ 10.89 in comparison to the spike over 16 on May 18th
[10:24:55] <werner1> Shorts Emini NQ @ 5717.25
[10:26:45] <werner1> Covered all Emini NQ Short @ 5714.50 --> + 2.75
[10:29:58] <Donnin______> so i should wait for a spike in vix before all else
[10:30:17] <Donnin______> if i want to trade volatility
[10:30:26] <wrbtrader> No
[10:30:47] <wrbtrader> You wait for VIX to trend...up or down
[10:31:10] <Donnin______> i see
[10:31:25] <wrbtrader> Thus, a VIX @ 20 but going sideways in a tight trading range is just as bad as a VIX @ 8 going sideways in a tight trading range
[10:32:09] <wrbtrader> Volatility is very calm since the 18th
[10:32:42] <wrbtrader> You can see the calmness in the Emini futures via a higher time frame
[10:33:35] <wrbtrader> I was looking at the 60min chart interval
[10:34:03] <wrbtrader> Last 6 intervals are "contracting volatility"
[10:34:09] <wrbtrader> Not much happening
[10:36:43] <wrbtrader> The good thing is that these types of "not much happening" markets are easy to recognize before trading them
[10:37:04] <wrbtrader> I use to read books during these times :)
[10:37:27] <wrbtrader> Also, be aware we have a big FED minutes later today @ 2pm est
[10:37:39] <wrbtrader> The market could be just waiting for the KME
[10:38:17] <Tigerman______> yeah it behaves this way from long time now
[10:38:25] <Tigerman______> dead market before fed
[10:38:59] <wrbtrader> In the old days...people fought this type of market by INCREASING their position size to compensate
[10:39:18] <wrbtrader> Took many years before the stats showed that was a very bad strategy
[10:39:51] <wrbtrader> Slow markets require more sidelines and more lower position size to better manage the increased risk
[10:40:03] <Tigerman______> yeah you INCREASE the risk
[10:40:22] <Tigerman______> my observation in low vola is this expecially in dax
[10:40:41] <Tigerman______> fast moves and spikes are fast retraced
[10:40:50] <Tigerman______> that is very frustrating
[10:41:55] <Donnin______> we been trending down on vix since the 18th
[10:42:29] <werner1> indd tigerman dax is a beest
[10:43:15] <Tigerman______> simply it cannot be traded like others index
[10:43:34] <werner1> beast
[10:43:37] <Tigerman______> or better any index have his personality
[10:43:52] <werner1> yep
[10:44:05] <wrbtrader> The scary part about these types of low volatility markets...more people blow up than trading in high volatility markets
[10:44:19] <wrbtrader> Its like a slow bleed that doesn't stop and its sneaky...
[10:44:31] <Tigerman______> yeah agreed
[10:44:59] <wrbtrader> You can be down a ton of money before realizing its a market that you shouldn't be trading or should be lowering the position size dramatically
[10:46:42] <Tigerman______> big problem is new wanna be trader in this market or veteran trader testing different strategies
[10:47:03] <Tigerman______> almost everythings goes bad very bad
[10:48:00] <Tigerman______> so unless one developed a sound strategy and discipline in golden years....very easy new timer are scared off and never return to trading
[10:49:19] <wrbtrader> Yeah...exactly
[10:49:42] <wrbtrader> Low volatility markets are the worst types for new traders to start their trading careers
[10:50:03] <Tigerman______> yeah that cause me problem too
[10:50:06] <wrbtrader> There's no glamour, very boring, slow
[10:50:26] <Tigerman______> infact I devoted to full time trading around 2012
[10:51:40] <Tigerman______> VIX going lower from that year :(
[10:54:33] <wrbtrader> I remember early last year talking a lot about low volatility markets coming around the corner...type of markets that will shake up the trading industry
[10:55:15] <wrbtrader> I've been saying for several years now that I'll soon start taking the summers off from trading because I expect volatility to dry up
[10:56:43] <Tigerman______> big problem is for traders not packed spare money and NEED trading to live
[10:56:55] <wrbtrader> It sucks because the markets are use to volatility...its how the trading industry develop or became exciting to retail traders
[10:57:17] <wrbtrader> We had the big boom of volatility in the 90's
[10:57:29] <wrbtrader> Then we had the infamous bubble burst
[10:57:51] <Tigerman______> ok some days in awhile ...months without any income are not possible for many of us
[10:57:57] <wrbtrader> Then we had the global financial fiasco of 2008 - 2010
[10:58:24] <wrbtrader> Exactly, not many traders can live months without trading
[10:59:15] <Tigerman______> frustrating part is go back to older work after many years devoted to trading
[10:59:29] <wrbtrader> Yet, we do get what I call "spot volatility spikes"...
[10:59:46] <wrbtrader> That's what creates the 5 decent trading days per month
[10:59:57] <Tigerman______> more miss some volatility days while at work :(
[11:00:15] <wrbtrader> Something global, political or economic that causes "temporary volatility surges"
[11:00:31] <Tigerman______> yeah exactly
[11:00:40] <wrbtrader> Miss those 5 trading days...trading becomes extremely difficult
[11:01:30] <Tigerman______> seems we are surfers .. lookking for the big wave :)
[11:01:42] <wrbtrader> Good analogy
[11:02:56] <wrbtrader> Trump is away and the media downplayed the terrorist bombing in the UK
[11:03:08] <wrbtrader> Its fairly quiet market
[11:03:30] <wrbtrader> some volatility in the Eminis right now
[11:03:56] <wrbtrader> Hopefully it'll produce a WRB Hidden Gap interval
[11:04:25] <wrbtrader> testing the most recent reaction lows 5min chart
[11:04:37] <werner1> surfing with a life jacket :)
[11:08:53] <werner1> bbl
[11:19:39] <Tigerman______> take care all see next time
[11:35:07] <werner1> back
[11:42:19] <wrbtrader> If the price action stays like this after the big 2pm est KME...
[11:42:39] <wrbtrader> The VIX tomorrow should drop near 10.00
[12:01:21] <werner1> sofar nq is dead
[12:05:22] <werner1> bbl
[13:54:03] <werner1> back
[14:05:02] <wrbtrader> Not much volatility from the 2pm est KME
[14:05:09] <wrbtrader> :(
[14:05:45] <werner1> :(
[14:12:18] <wrbtrader> Long Emini ES @ 2399.75 -> small size
[14:12:30] <wrbtrader> 5 contracts
[14:12:35] <wrbtrader> Its trying
[14:12:45] <werner1> Long Emini NQ @ 5721.25
[14:13:36] <werner1> Exited all Emini NQ Long @ 5724.25 --> + 3
[14:16:46] <wrbtrader> Exited all Emini ES Long @ 2401.00 --> + 1.25
[14:16:50] <wrbtrader> Trail stop picked pocketed
[14:22:50] <wrbtrader> Looks like the current 30 min chart interval for Emini ES futures has a chance to develop into the only WRB Hidden Gap interval of the trading day
[14:23:19] <wrbtrader> Yet, we still have enough time for something crazy to happen
[14:23:37] <werner1> indd
[15:10:42] <werner1> pfff
[15:11:16] <werner1> sofar + 5.75
[15:29:11] <werner1> Long Emini NQ @ 5725.25
[15:31:38] <werner1> Exited all Emini NQ Long @ 5728.25 --> + 3
[15:31:50] <werner1> wrb pt1
[15:40:07] <wrbtrader> Emini futures rising again but on low volatility
[15:40:46] <werner1> :(
[15:42:10] <wrbtrader> Emini ES futures trying to climb up the range of a prior long upper shadow interval
[15:42:43] <wrbtrader> Long Emini ES @ 2402.50 -> small size
[15:42:54] <wrbtrader> 5 contracts
[15:43:50] <wrbtrader> not much time remaining today in the regular trading session
[15:46:21] <werner1> ...total + 8.75...tomorrow is a holiday here in holland ,,so take care see you all next week
[15:46:29] <wrbtrader> bye
[15:52:47] <wrbtrader> Exited all Emini ES Long @ 2403.50 --> + 1
[15:52:51] <wrbtrader> small WRB pt1 reached
[15:54:49] <wrbtrader> VIX retested 10.00 :(
[16:02:46] <wrbtrader> Another extremely boring trading day
[16:03:36] <wrbtrader> If it wasn't for that 2pm est KME...it would'uv been a crappy trading day
[16:03:44] <wrbtrader> Take care all and see all tomorrow

##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader (position trading, swing trading, day trading) can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the free chat room nor do you need to be a price action trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience traders in price action trading.

The purpose of ##TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Quote:
The free chat room is not a signal calling trading room and we do not believe in the business model of a head trader telling other traders when to buy and sell. Its a flawed approach to trading in which a trader can not learn how to be a successful independent trader.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.
