##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room for traders using WRB Analysis (e.g. Contracting Volatility, WRB, WRB Hidden GAP, WRB Zone, WRB profit targets, Key Market Events) by itself or merged with other trade methods to improve the performance of those other trade methods regardless if you're a position trader, swing trader or day trader. Therefore, you're welcome to use the chat room to ask questions about WRB Analysis, post real-time price action trading analysis involving WRB Analysis merged with your own trade methods, post real-time trades or talk about general market issues impacting today's price action involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners, experience, part-time, full-time) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to help develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading.

##TheStrategyLab is primarily designed to only be a trade journal for documentation purposes so that members can have a real time stamp archive of their trades and their market commentaries of each trading day...giving them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day in the past. Therefore, if you use our chat room...its highly recommended you post messages that reflect what you see in the price action on your monitors so that the chat room becomes your diary (journal) to correlate with trades on your broker statements.

Also, if you want ##TheStrategyLab chat room to be educational for you, ask questions instead of lurking (not participating in conversations). You can talk about anything related to price action analysis, trade execution, financial markets, economies or news impacting the markets in general.

Quote:
The chat room is only for traders learning or applying concepts of WRB Analysis. In addition, traders that use ##TheStrategyLab are required to post either one WRB Analysis price action commentary involving any key concept from the free study guide, one real-time trade or one general trading related commentary per day they log-in to the chat room. Yet, if the trader decides to post real-time trades (simulator or real-money)...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently log-in and not post any price action commentary involving WRB Analysis or post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room. Exceptions for those that are actively posting via private messages or posting at one of our support forums.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding price action trading. To log into ##TheStrategyLab chat room that's located on the Freenode IRC network...please follow the instructions here at the FTCHAT Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 or via the the instructions from the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

[09:42:14] -ChanServ- [##TheStrategyLab] Chat room for day traders, swing traders, position traders using concepts from WRB Analysis to help improve the performance of their trade signal strategies. WRB Analysis free study guide @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum ... =119&t=718
[09:42:15] ##TheStrategyLab url is http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/
[10:01:10] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 1189.90 -> small size
[10:01:32] <@wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[10:02:19] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 1190.40 --> + 0.5
[10:09:04] <@wrbtrader> Price action still too high in the Eminis...
[10:09:19] <@wrbtrader> It needs to retrace to setup new WRB Zones
[10:12:40] <t4n> CL setting up resistance
[10:14:20] <@wrbtrader> U.S. Stocks Rise on Fed Speculation as Economy Slows (Bloomberg) @ http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-02-2 ... lumps.html
[10:16:10] <@wrbtrader> Impressive strong continuation up movement in the Emini Futures within the face of some economic news
[10:17:07] <craigaudio> news bad right?
[10:17:07] <craigaudio> just ramped up
[10:17:07] <craigaudio> pretty parabolic
[10:17:22] <@wrbtrader> We now have several WRB Hidden GAPs (unfilled) sitting below current price levels in the Emini Futures.
[10:17:49] <@wrbtrader> I would like to see a retracement downward into the range of any of those WRB Hidden GAPs
[10:18:13] <@wrbtrader> Then maybe some trade signals may show up...hopefully
[10:27:45] <t4n> GC nice drop
[10:34:52] <t4n> CL spiking
[10:35:07] <@wrbtrader> Long Light Crude Oil CL @ 102.57 -> medium size
[10:35:25] <@wrbtrader> :(
[10:36:20] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Light Crude Oil CL Long @ 102.57 --> 0
[10:36:33] <@wrbtrader> that was a trade error
[10:36:43] <@wrbtrader> lucky to get out at breakeven
[10:37:43] <t4n> YM leaning over
[10:42:27] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 1191.10 -> small size
[10:42:50] <@wrbtrader> 1 contract
[10:45:46] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 1190.70 -> Add
[10:46:04] <@wrbtrader> 1 added
[10:47:32] <@wrbtrader> Exited 1/2 Emini TF Long @ 1190.60 --> - 0.1
[10:47:46] <@wrbtrader> Exited Remainder Emini TF Long @ 1190.60 --> - 0.5
[10:50:07] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 1190.50 -> small size
[10:50:22] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[10:52:46] <@wrbtrader> I'm using that WRB Zone of the 1000am key market event to setup my trades
[10:53:12] <@wrbtrader> Price action retested the R area of that WRB Zone a few times
[10:53:35] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 1190.80 --> + 0.3
[10:53:56] <@wrbtrader> Its just not coughing up any WRB pt levels
[10:54:52] <t4n> just missed CL...
[10:54:59] <mtntrader> So, using that Zone as support?
[10:55:05] <t4n> a break may be in order
[10:55:06] <@wrbtrader> No
[10:55:45] <@wrbtrader> When price action enters a WRB Zone...
[10:56:05] <@wrbtrader> It changes the top of the Zone into RESISTANCE and the bottom of the Zone into SUPPORT
[10:56:17] <mtntrader> Ok I was looking at a 1 min.
[10:56:23] <@wrbtrader> Same here
[10:56:55] <@wrbtrader> Price action above a Zone...the Zone is not Support and its not Resistance
[10:57:22] <@wrbtrader> Yet, when price action enters the Zone...those top/bottom levels changes into Resistance and Support area
[10:57:40] <@wrbtrader> Like now...
[10:57:48] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF if inside the Zone
[10:58:08] <@wrbtrader> now you have R area on top and S area on the bottom of the WRB Zone
[10:58:21] <mtntrader> Ok, I had to redraw my zone.
[10:58:59] <@wrbtrader> You now just sit back and wait to see if any of your trade signals appear while sharing a tick with the WRB Zone...Short or Long
[11:00:13] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 1190.00 -> small size
[11:00:28] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[11:00:44] <@wrbtrader> volatility is very low
[11:00:47] <mtntrader> http://ft.trillian.im/888599b830c90a954 ... p1KOR1.jpg
[11:01:04] <mtntrader> Here is how I drew the zone. Correct?
[11:01:13] <@wrbtrader> Yes...correct
[11:01:31] <mtntrader> Thx
[11:02:36] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 1189.40 --> - 0.6
[11:02:50] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF now retesting the support area of the WRB Zone
[11:03:11] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 1189.70 -> small size
[11:03:18] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[11:03:21] <@wrbtrader> re-entry
[11:03:32] <mtntrader> So is the zone still active, even though filled?
[11:03:40] <@wrbtrader> Low volatility just not willing to cough up any movement
[11:04:07] <@wrbtrader> Depends on the KME and your preference
[11:04:44] <@wrbtrader> If you're trading Treasury futures...this particular type of WRB Zone may not be important to you.
[11:05:22] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 1188.70 --> - 1
[11:05:25] <@wrbtrader> Thus, it would then be consideer filled (inactive) to treasury traders
[11:05:52] <@wrbtrader> If you're trading Emini futures...this type of KME may be very important to you.
[11:06:10] <@wrbtrader> Thus, it will stay useful until the appearance of the next KME
[11:06:45] <@wrbtrader> Simply, you need to know the KME and then decide PRIOR to the event if its important or not important to you.
[11:07:11] <@wrbtrader> For example, I like Crude Oil EIA Petroleum Status Reports.
[11:07:28] <mtntrader> Ok, I understand the applicability of the KME. Thx
[11:07:31] <@wrbtrader> Those WRB Zones will remain useful for me all day long even if filled.
[11:08:14] <@wrbtrader> In contrast, FED speeches aren't that important to me and those types of KME will not be useful to me after they are filled.
[11:08:36] <mtntrader> Ok
[11:09:07] <@wrbtrader> Yet, if you have an "economic background"...FED speeches KME's may be very important to you.
[11:10:00] <@wrbtrader> volatility still declining
[11:14:53] <@wrbtrader> volatility declining more
[11:15:15] <@wrbtrader> This could get very ugly of a trading day if volatility remains like this.
[11:19:04] <craigaudio> ugly as in Zzzz
[11:19:05] <craigaudio> ?
[11:19:22] <craigaudio> or ugly reversal to downside?
[11:19:31] <@wrbtrader> Low volatility ALWAYS produces lots of poor trade opportunities
[11:19:53] <@wrbtrader> Volatility is not price direction
[11:20:24] <@wrbtrader> Volatility is trade opportunities and the trades ability to reach profit targets
[11:20:44] <mtntrader> Yes, and this IS a Friday.
[11:21:05] <@wrbtrader> Usually the last trading day of the month would have more volatility than this.
[11:21:33] <mtntrader> Good point
[11:22:02] <@wrbtrader> Maybe that initial volatility surge out of the gate was the big VOLATILITY for the trading day.
[11:22:13] <@wrbtrader> Everything after that is just pennies
[11:22:40] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 1189.30 -> medium size
[11:22:46] <@wrbtrader> 2+2 contracts
[11:23:46] <@wrbtrader> re-entry
[11:24:24] <@wrbtrader> S area of that prior mentioned KME WRB Hidden GAP @ 1189.20
[11:24:56] <craigaudio> vol wasnt confirming on that move up
[11:24:56] <craigaudio> interesting to see if it can hold
[11:25:22] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 1188.50 --> - 0.8
[11:25:36] <@wrbtrader> volastility just showed up
[11:25:48] <@wrbtrader> in TF
[11:25:59] <@wrbtrader> Unfortunately the other Eminis not showing the same
[11:26:47] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 1188.60 -> large size
[11:26:57] <@wrbtrader> 4+2 contracts
[11:27:01] <@wrbtrader> re-entry
[11:27:40] <@wrbtrader> pushing a little size now up from 2 contracts to 4 and now to 6 based upon TF volatility only
[11:28:17] <@wrbtrader> YM, NQ and ES holding their range nicely
[11:28:35] <@wrbtrader> TF is just struggling below its ranges
[11:29:52] <@wrbtrader> Crude Oil Cl futures and Brent Oil BRN futures ranging too after their big volatility spike
[11:33:10] <@wrbtrader> I just got a huge spike down in IWM...must be an error with my data provider because Emini TF is still trying to move higher
[11:33:44] <t4n> no spike on my charts
[11:36:57] <@wrbtrader> Exited 1/2 Emini TF Long @ 1190.70 --> + 2.1
[11:37:19] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF now back above the R area of that 1000am KME WRB Zone
[11:38:07] <@wrbtrader> R area is 1190.30
[11:39:29] <mtntrader> So, you don't automatically take profits at PTs, huh?
[11:40:10] <@wrbtrader> Its a WRB pt1
[11:40:26] <@wrbtrader> It just happen to occur near that R area
[11:40:47] <mtntrader> Oh, ok. Thx
[11:41:20] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 @ 1190.50 but I got an extra 2 ticks
[11:41:29] <@wrbtrader> R area @ 1190.30
[11:42:16] <mtntrader> Ok, I thought you were using that old zone for your profit target. I will reread that section.
[11:42:17] <@wrbtrader> Its a big WRB pt1 but only because the prior intervals before the WRB pt1 were small intervals with increasing price action
[11:42:42] <@wrbtrader> You can use for profit targets ANY of the following:
[11:42:45] <@wrbtrader> WRB
[11:42:50] <@wrbtrader> WRB Hidden GAP
[11:42:56] <@wrbtrader> WRB Zone
[11:43:01] <@wrbtrader> Reaction Highs/Lows
[11:43:57] <@wrbtrader> I prefer to use WRB and WRB Zones in low volatility like this
[11:44:21] <@wrbtrader> Exited Remainder Emini TF Long @ 1189.60 --> + 1
[11:44:49] <@wrbtrader> I high volatility conditions...I prefer to use WRB Hidden GAPs via a higher interval
[11:45:11] <@wrbtrader> Thus, if my entry is on the 3min chart and lots of volatility shows up AFTER my entry...
[11:45:37] <@wrbtrader> I'll then switch to a higher time frame and look for WRB Hidden GAPs for a bigger profit target
[11:45:59] <@wrbtrader> I catch something like that about 1 - 2 times per month
[11:46:34] <@wrbtrader> Those are the trades that produce profits of +5 points or higher
[11:49:51] <mtntrader> Lot to learn to this trading methodology. Interesting.
[11:50:40] <@wrbtrader> Think about this...
[11:50:59] <@wrbtrader> Most traders dump a profitable trade when volatility shows up...mainly out of FEAR.
[11:51:23] <@wrbtrader> They're afraid its going to quickly retrace just as fast and take away their profits
[11:51:51] <@wrbtrader> It took many years to realize that if my trade is profitable and THEN volatility suddenly shows up...
[11:51:53] <mtntrader> Yep, almost a natural tendancy.
[11:52:14] <@wrbtrader> Ride it and put in a profitable trail stop...then sit back and just watch.
[11:52:51] <@wrbtrader> You'll then notice your winning trades will be a lot larger than your losing trades...
[11:53:23] <@wrbtrader> Very helpful on trading days that show up when you have more losing trades than winning trades.
[11:53:52] <@wrbtrader> Your day can still be profitable because the average winner is much larger than the average loser
[11:54:27] <@wrbtrader> One of the best traders I met in here went by the name of Jazz...retired commercial pilot.
[11:54:44] <@wrbtrader> His percentage was like 45% winners
[11:55:09] <@wrbtrader> Yet the winning trades average about +9 points in Emini ES
[11:55:19] <mtntrader> Wow
[11:55:30] <@wrbtrader> In contrast, the average for his losing trades was about -1.25 points
[11:55:44] <@wrbtrader> That's almost a 9 to 1 advantage he had
[11:55:50] <@wrbtrader> incredible
[11:56:22] <@wrbtrader> To those that were in here at the time...
[11:56:37] <mtntrader> Gee, for that type of ratio, 45% seems very good.
[11:56:46] <@wrbtrader> Many of them thought their day was over if they got hit with a -1.25 point loser in the Emini ES futures
[11:57:10] <mtntrader> Ha
[11:58:14] <@wrbtrader> If I can have 1 - 2 big profitable trading days per month...
[11:58:26] <@wrbtrader> everything else falls into place for me.
[11:58:40] <@wrbtrader> It also helps keep me discipline on a majority of my trades.
[11:59:26] <@wrbtrader> because those "few" big profitable days keeps my confidence that if I can find "more consistency"...bigger things can develop
[12:00:19] <@wrbtrader> It's like baseball with those big Home Run hitters
[12:01:13] <mtntrader> So what was Jazz using for targets? Intervals from higher time frames?
[12:01:13] <@wrbtrader> There's alot different in the teams win ratio when their home run king hits +40 home runs with nobody on base versus +40 home runs with 1 - 2 guys on base most of the time during those home runs
[12:02:09] <@wrbtrader> I saw some stats between the Cubs and St. Louis when McGuire and Sosa was hitting those home runs.
[12:02:54] <@wrbtrader> Mind boggling about changes in their team performance when those guys hit home runs with guys on base versus home runs when nobody is on base
[12:03:30] <@wrbtrader> That's when I really started to think about "position size management"
[12:03:37] <mtntrader> Hmmm
[12:03:46] <@wrbtrader> Wait for volatility to show up to increase my position size
[12:03:53] <@wrbtrader> Low volatility = small sizes
[12:04:07] <@wrbtrader> High or Increasing volatility = increasing position size
[12:04:35] <@wrbtrader> It was also I notice with the trader Jazz...
[12:04:45] <mtntrader> Oh, I thought you position sized based on directional bias. I think I saw you mention that previously.
[12:05:03] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...I do position size via the following:
[12:05:08] <@wrbtrader> Volatility
[12:05:25] <@wrbtrader> 2) Personal Bias about market direction
[12:05:41] <@wrbtrader> 3) Personal reasons (e.g. how much distraction I have at home)
[12:05:53] <@wrbtrader> 4) Time of day
[12:06:34] <mtntrader> Learning a lot today.
[14:58:37] <@wrbtrader> WRB Analysis -> - Your use of this chat room implies you're using concepts from WRB Analysis for price action trading to help trade either Stocks, Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX 6E Futures, Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40, BUND), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), Oil Futures (Brent, CL, HO, QM), Gold GC Futures, Natural Gas NG Futures, Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQ, SPY), Hang Seng HSI Futures, NIFTY Futures, Forex Currencies (GbpUsd, EurUsd, EurYen, UsdCad) and other key market price actions.
[14:59:21] <@wrbtrader> I hope someone here took advantage some off the Down Strong Continuation price action in the Emini Futures...
[14:59:31] <@wrbtrader> Nice price movement on increasing volatility
[14:59:39] <@wrbtrader> that's now starting the contract
[15:00:40] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 1182.00 -> small size
[15:00:53] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[15:01:07] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[15:01:11] <@wrbtrader> that was fast :)
[15:01:24] <@wrbtrader> increasing volatility
[15:01:42] <@wrbtrader> will hold a little longer to see if I can catch a WRB Hidden GAP pt1
[15:03:09] <@wrbtrader> WRB Hidden GAP pt1 reached
[15:03:26] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 1179.00 --> + 3
[15:07:11] <@wrbtrader> Glad I got something out of that obvious downtrend.
[15:08:58] <@wrbtrader> I feel better now missing the early part of this downtrend due to a long lunch
[15:09:25] <t4n> wow looke what i missed
[15:09:26] <@wrbtrader> Take care all, have a nice weekend and see on in March (on Monday).
[15:09:57] <mtntrader> You too. Thanks for everything.

##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader (position trading, swing trading, day trading) can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience traders in price action trading.

The purpose of ##TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called ##VolatilityTradingTSL or ##WRB_Analysis and they're not allowed to do such in ##TheStrategyLab.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that ##TheStrategyLab is a serious professional price action trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: chat logs saved (timestamp) from Québec, Canada in eastern daylight time
