##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room for traders using WRB Analysis (e.g. Contracting Volatility, WRB, WRB Hidden GAP, WRB Zone, WRB profit targets, Key Market Events) by itself or merged with other trade methods to improve the performance of those other trade methods regardless if you're a position trader, swing trader or day trader. Therefore, you're welcome to use the chat room to ask questions about WRB Analysis, post real-time price action trading analysis involving WRB Analysis merged with your own trade methods, post real-time trades or talk about general market issues impacting today's price action involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners, experience, part-time, full-time) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to help develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading.

##TheStrategyLab is primarily designed to only be a trade journal for documentation purposes so that members can have a real time stamp archive of their trades and their market commentaries of each trading day...giving them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day in the past. Therefore, if you use our chat room...its highly recommended you post messages that reflect what you see in the price action on your monitors so that the chat room becomes your diary (journal) to correlate with trades on your broker statements.

Also, if you want ##TheStrategyLab chat room to be educational for you, ask questions instead of lurking (not participating in conversations). You can talk about anything related to price action analysis, trade execution, financial markets, economies or news impacting the markets in general.

Quote:
The chat room is only for traders learning or applying concepts of WRB Analysis. In addition, traders that use ##TheStrategyLab are required to post at least one WRB Analysis price action commentary, one real-time trade or one general trading related commentary per day they log-in to the chat room. Yet, if the trader decides to post real-time trades (simulator or real-money)...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently log-in and not post any price action commentary involving WRB Analysis or post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding price action trading. To log into ##TheStrategyLab chat room that's located on the Freenode IRC network...please follow the instructions here at the FTCHAT Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 or via the the instructions from the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

[11:04:27] <kristi39> ok thanks
[11:04:36] <wrbtrader> I'll add the 1min only on FOMC days or key volatility days
[11:06:22] <wrbtrader> I've tried in the past to use "scalper" intervals like tick charts and/or second charts...
[11:06:28] <wrbtrader> Too fast for me.
[11:06:50] <wrbtrader> or another way to look at it...I was too slow going from analysis to the trade
[11:09:01] <squiggles> gC VOLATILITY INCREASING
[11:09:20] <squiggles> sorry caps on by mistake
[11:09:24] <kristi39> That gold trade would have been very nice from entry at 1325
[11:10:03] <wrbtrader> would ?
[11:10:16] <wrbtrader> I was a nice entry and it reached its profit target
[11:10:24] <kristi39> if you held
[11:10:32] <wrbtrader> Its a shame I didn't get another entry signal
[11:10:53] <wrbtrader> I don't hold trades beyond their targets
[11:10:55] <wrbtrader> UNLESS
[11:11:00] <wrbtrader> I'm already up big for the day
[11:11:10] <kristi39> ok
[11:11:17] <wrbtrader> That's when I can afford to take a risk and try to milk it for more
[11:11:27] <wrbtrader> Until that happens...stick to the plan
[11:12:54] <kristi39> Geez Gold just keep on going
[11:14:56] <wrbtrader> It got hit HEAVY on the downside on Friday...
[11:15:16] <wrbtrader> Its now back inside that low area of that trend day
[11:15:36] <wrbtrader> 15min chart
[11:16:25] <kristi39> ok I see - just pulled up the 15 min
[11:16:53] <wrbtrader> It needs to go a little higher inside the range of a big WRB Hidden GAP on Friday to catch my attention again.
[11:16:57] <kristi39> I know I have a lot to learn. Your concepts are new to me.
[11:17:17] <wrbtrader> That's why I'm just sitting low now...hoping...waiting for it to go a little higher
[11:19:11] <r33gmd> i see selling coming into GC futures on min chart
[11:21:25] <NDW> L TF 6 c. @ 1075.6, exit all @ 1076.1 +15 ticks
[11:21:42] <r33gmd> and a nice double top pattern
[11:21:50] <NDW> correction 1077.1
[11:23:28] <wrbtrader> Hmmm...volatility just dried up in many different key markets about the same time.
[11:23:36] <wrbtrader> I'm now expecting a volatility spike here soon
[11:26:02] <wrbtrader> Long Emini ES @ 1693.50 -> large size
[11:26:18] <wrbtrader> 10 contracts
[11:26:45] <TigermanTrader> long es 1693.75
[11:26:49] <wrbtrader> position size error...needed 20 or 25 contracts for this type of expected volatility increase
[11:28:38] <NDW> L TF 6 c. 1077.3
[11:28:48] <wrbtrader> looks like Emini TF futures trying to prove me I should have traded it instead of the Emini ES
[11:29:59] <canaandog> cl back to pre-kme levels
[11:30:47] <wrbtrader> Yeah, Crude Oil CL futures battle its way back upwards above some key WRB Hidden GAPs (change in supply/demand)
[11:31:14] <NDW> 5 off 1078.4, +11 ticks, 1 trailing at +1 stop
[11:31:26] <wrbtrader> Emini TF futures struggling
[11:31:43] <wrbtrader> Emini ES too now
[11:32:48] <NDW> +2 on last contract
[11:33:06] <wrbtrader> another volatility spike in Forex EurUsd, EuroFX 6E futures or the U.S. Dollar
[11:34:27] <wrbtrader> volatility contraction returned now in different key markets
[11:34:46] <TigermanTrader> yeah a lot of contracting that make me nervous
[11:34:54] <NDW> TF & ES have hit the brakes
[11:35:02] <TigermanTrader> fear of a spike against me
[11:35:18] <TigermanTrader> while I plan for a spike in my direction :)
[11:35:20] <wrbtrader> Yeah, I'm now tightning my stop loss
[11:35:38] <wrbtrader> another pending volatility spike
[11:35:53] <wrbtrader> Hopefully it takes prices upwards and not downwards
[11:36:04] <TigermanTrader> we all hope the spike happen on up side:)
[11:36:05] <NDW> it's trying
[11:37:06] <wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[11:37:50] <wrbtrader> Exited all Emini ES Long @ 1694.75 --> + 1.25
[11:38:49] <TigermanTrader> exit 1/2 ES at 1694.5 +3tk
[11:39:02] <TigermanTrader> I try milk more on remainders
[11:42:19] <TigermanTrader> exit remainders ES at 1694 +1tk
[11:45:07] <@wrbtrader> WRB Analysis -> - Your use of this chat room implies you're using concepts from WRB Analysis for price action trading to help trade either Stocks, Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX 6E Futures, Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40, BUND), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), Oil Futures (Brent, CL, HO, QM), Gold GC Futures, Natural Gas NG Futures, Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQ, SPY), Hang Seng HSI Futures, NIFTY Futures, Forex Currencies (GbpUsd, EurUsd, EurYen, UsdCad) and other key market price actions.
[11:45:39] <NDW> WRBTrader: Do you use Trillian or mIRC?
[11:48:12] <@wrbtrader> I use both
[11:48:30] <@wrbtrader> Trillian is backup.
[11:48:40] <@wrbtrader> I use something different when I'm mobile
[11:48:48] <@wrbtrader> android tablet
[11:49:44] <NDW> I am unable to get mIRC to find ##TheStrategyLab, can I get help at the EOD?
[11:50:13] <@wrbtrader> mIRC can NOT find ##TheStrategyLab
[11:50:18] <@wrbtrader> its not there
[11:50:30] <@wrbtrader> Thus, its not a default chat room
[11:50:45] <NDW> That explains it :)
[11:51:07] <@wrbtrader> You have to input it into the list of default chat room via simply click the ADD or Edit button in the list of shown chat room
[11:52:14] <NDW> I have done that. When I log into that room through othernet it shows only me in the room with an @ in front of my name as the moderator
[11:53:01] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...that's probably because we're not on the Othernet :)
[11:53:06] <@wrbtrader> Its freenode
[11:53:14] <NDW> let me try that
[11:54:13] <NDW> I've got to go back to the instructions, give me a moment
[11:54:26] <@wrbtrader> ok
[11:55:13] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF futures doing its superman thing again
[11:55:39] <NDW> sure is, missed that last entry
[11:58:28] <NDW> sorry for asking, but where were the detailed instructions for mIRC, I can't find them in the TSL forum
[12:00:19] <TigermanTrader> take care all and see all next time
[12:00:35] <NDW> adios
[12:01:31] <NDW> WRBTrader: I found it in VTR, never mind.
[12:02:47] <@wrbtrader> Ok...its in the same thread as the password
[12:10:22] <NDW> I need to delete the othernet server, but can't find command in the help section of mIRC on how to do that.
[12:15:55] <NDW1> Ha, I am cooking with gas now!
[12:16:37] * NDW1 is now known as NDW
[12:17:50] <@wrbtrader> You don't need to delete Othernet...you just need to NOT use it.
[12:18:05] <@wrbtrader> Freenode and Othernet are default servers as are about 100 others
[12:18:31] <NDW> I had to change the default server on the ##TheStrategyLab channel from othernet to freenode
[12:18:42] <NDW> never used mIRC before
[12:18:47] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...via that "Edit" button
[12:19:14] <NDW> just deleted the channel and reinserted it with freenode - figured there was an easier way, but didn't know it
[12:21:07] <NDW> WRBTrader: Do you show a v2 and v1 in 3 min. TF for FVB @ 10:15 & 10:27?
[12:21:48] <NDW> volatility increasing
[12:23:05] <@wrbtrader> Yes but on my charts its est time zone as 1115am and 1124am est
[12:23:21] <NDW> ok - thwnk you
[12:23:24] <@wrbtrader> meant NO on the 1124
[12:23:37] <@wrbtrader> just the 1115am est (1015am cst)
[12:24:11] <@wrbtrader> that interval you called a v1 is can't be a v1 even if it was a WRB Hidden GAP
[12:24:37] <@wrbtrader> Mainly because there MUST be volatility contraction (3 intervals minium) between v2 and v1
[12:24:42] <NDW> okay - thank you - will look at FVB notes
[12:25:34] <NDW> there are 3 intervals in my chart between v1 & v2
[12:27:29] <@wrbtrader> I only have 2 intervals
[12:28:30] <@wrbtrader> Your data vendor gives those times you quoted as Open times or Close times of the interval ?
[12:28:41] <@wrbtrader> That may be the difference in our data
[12:28:53] <NDW> we definitely have different data services, same thing yesterday. two green bars (consecutive) and one red between v2 & v1
[12:29:27] <@wrbtrader> Even if we had different data...
[12:29:36] <@wrbtrader> We aren't going to lose an entire interval
[12:29:58] <@wrbtrader> I think your counting in error one of those consecutive WRB HG as a contraction interval
[12:30:49] <@wrbtrader> Closing interval of 1115an is a WRB HG...the next interval that closes at 1118am is a bigger WRB HG
[12:30:57] <NDW> yes, you are correct
[12:30:59] <NDW> my error
[12:33:51] <NDW> yes, so 11:18est bar would be v2 for a potential FVB setup?
[12:55:04] <@wrbtrader> No
[12:55:28] <@wrbtrader> Primarily because there's no valid v1 interval
[12:55:34] * NDW is now known as NDWaway
[12:56:19] <NDWaway> okay, I obviously need to reread and study FVB - thought I had a handle on it - posted some charts in FVB which are probably not correct
[12:56:52] <@wrbtrader> Yeah, I saw some of those charts...others have already chimed in and posted what's wrong with them
[12:57:06] <NDWaway> i'll go look at them, thanks for the help
[12:57:24] <@wrbtrader> If I remember one today was that your counting WRB's bigger than v1 or bigger than v2
[12:57:47] <@wrbtrader> Intervals between v1 and v2 are volatility contraction intervals NOT bigger than v1 and v2
[12:58:11] <@wrbtrader> If the were bigger as they are in your charts...
[12:58:27] <@wrbtrader> we then don't have a valid v1 or valid v2
[12:58:44] <@wrbtrader> Simply, we can't call those intervals "volatility contraction"
[12:58:51] <NDWaway> I will go check the size of the bars and verify or reject the setup.
[12:58:59] <@wrbtrader> contraction = it got smaller
[12:59:58] <NDWaway> definitely yesterday's TF chart is invalid.
[13:01:52] <NDWaway> The second chart has a red bar in the contraction between v2 & v1 that is the exact same size as what I labeled v2. Is the rule < or <= for contracting bars between v2 & v1?
[13:17:17] <@wrbtrader> each interval size in the volatility contraction < interval size of v1 and v2
[13:17:28] <@wrbtrader> not bigger and not equal...only smaller
[13:31:57] <t4npaper> I'm missing all this...
[13:32:33] * NDWaway is now known as NDW
[13:34:33] <NDW> s TF 1072.4 6 C
[13:36:14] <NDW> covered +2 - didn't like what I saw after entry
[14:05:17] <@wrbtrader> Just got back from lunch
[14:46:23] <@wrbtrader> Eminis range bound after that price drop
[15:25:04] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini ES @ 1687.75 -> large size
[15:25:16] <@wrbtrader> 20 contracts (10+10)
[15:25:22] <@wrbtrader> volatility slowly increasing
[15:26:16] <@wrbtrader> :(
[15:26:18] <@wrbtrader> geeesh
[15:27:34] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini ES Short @ 1687.50 --> + 0.25
[15:27:45] <@wrbtrader> looking for a re-short
[15:28:01] <@wrbtrader> hopefully I can get a better entry
[15:56:30] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini ES @ 1686.50 -> large size
[15:56:45] <@wrbtrader> waited for a trade signal at a higher level...didn't get a signal
[15:56:54] <@wrbtrader> now I get a trade signal at a lower price :(
[15:57:00] <@wrbtrader> 20 contracts
[15:57:08] <@wrbtrader> volatility slowly increasing
[15:57:48] <@wrbtrader> snap back
[15:59:55] <@wrbtrader> there goes Emini TF futures doing its superman thing while Emini ES futures is sluggish
[16:04:35] <@wrbtrader> Gold GC futures moving in the post price action...very strange to see it do that
[16:04:58] <@wrbtrader> because of such, if I was in a different time zone...
[16:05:19] <@wrbtrader> I would trade Gold GC futures in the overnight session because something is going on with it
[16:06:11] <@wrbtrader> That was a ton of volatlity contraction into the last hour of the Eminis trading session while other key markets were contracting.
[16:06:26] <@wrbtrader> Usually that would setup a 4pm est rush hour volatility spike and it didn't
[16:06:53] <@wrbtrader> Thus, I'm going to be expecting tomorrow to produce a trend day or strong continuation price action soon out of the gate.
[16:08:12] <NDW> good bye all, have a nice evening
[16:08:31] <NDW> i hope it is a strong trend day tomorrow
[16:09:37] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 shallow reached
[16:09:54] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini ES Short @ 1686.25 --> + 0.25
[16:10:09] <@wrbtrader> It's that type of a trading day :(
[16:10:32] * NDW is now known as NDWaway
[16:10:37] <@wrbtrader> take care all...will look forward to tomorrow and call it quits today
Session Close: Wed Sep 25 20:13:10 2013

##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader (position trading, swing trading, day trading) can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience traders in price action trading.

The purpose of ##TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called ##VolatilityTradingTSL or ##WRB_Analysis and they're not allowed to do such in ##TheStrategyLab.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that ##TheStrategyLab is a serious professional price action trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: chat logs saved (timestamp) from Québec, Canada in eastern daylight time
