##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room for traders using WRB Analysis (e.g. Contracting Volatility, WRB, WRB Hidden GAP, WRB Zone) by itself or merged with other trade methods to improve the performance of those other trade methods regardless if you're a position trader, swing trader or day trader. Therefore, you're welcome to use the chat room to ask questions about WRB Analysis, post real-time price action trading analysis involving WRB Analysis merged with your own trade methods, post real-time trades or talk about general market issues impacting today's price action involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners, experience, part-time, full-time) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to help develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading.

##TheStrategyLab is primarily designed to only be a trade journal for documentation purposes so that members can have a real time stamp archive of their trades and their market commentaries of each trading day...giving them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day in the past. Therefore, if you use our chat room...its highly recommended you post messages that reflect what you see in the price action on your monitors so that the chat room becomes your diary (journal) to correlate with trades on your broker statements.

Also, if you want ##TheStrategyLab chat room to be educational for you, ask questions instead of lurking (not participating in conversations). You can talk about anything related to price action analysis, trade execution, financial markets, economies or news impacting the markets in general.

Quote:
The chat room is only for traders using concepts of WRB Analysis. In addition, traders that use ##TheStrategyLab are not required to post trades but if you do post trades...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding price action trading. To log into ##TheStrategyLab chat room that's located on the Freenode IRC network...please follow the instructions here at the FTCHAT Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 or via the the instructions from the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

[10:21:01] <@wrbtrader> 25 contracts
[10:21:48] <@wrbtrader> I tried getting a Short in Gold GC...missed a fill by a few ticks
[10:22:28] <@wrbtrader> resulting in a chase entry in Emini ES after spending too much time on Gold GC
[10:22:58] <@wrbtrader> Overall range getting tighter
[10:23:03] <@wrbtrader> smaller
[10:23:35] <MattyR> yeah the more markets you watch the more room for erro
[10:23:41] <MattyR> error
[10:24:11] <@wrbtrader> Issue isn't more markets...
[10:24:42] <@wrbtrader> issue is trying to get the order correct or trying to determine why a no fill occurred...
[10:24:57] <@wrbtrader> Then if another market moves during that time...you miss it
[10:25:32] <@wrbtrader> I think someone once said he can monitor 10 markets at one time...
[10:25:42] <@wrbtrader> but only trade two of them at a time
[10:25:51] <MattyR> ok
[10:26:23] <@wrbtrader> Emin ES trying to retest the S area of that same WRB Hidden GAP...
[10:26:35] <@wrbtrader> Same one its bouncing up and down from the R area to the S area

[10:29:44] <@wrbtrader> Emini ES range tighter now...
[10:30:24] <@wrbtrader> each bounce off the R or S areas...setups are occurring closer to the other
[10:31:14] <@wrbtrader> still no trend
[10:32:03] <@wrbtrader> I pushed it hard...no winner runners.
[10:32:29] <@wrbtrader> Emini ES futures now retesting the R area again
[10:33:30] <canaandog> same here. I had a lot of "modest profit" trades that I left on the board hoping for a runner, and they all got taken out by retraces
[10:34:11] <canaandog> I finally just grabbed one to have something to show for it
[10:36:05] <@wrbtrader> It'll open up...the question will it be a trend or just a strong continuation price action that quickly retraces
[10:37:28] <squiggles> CL increasing volatility
[10:39:03] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini ES @ 1607.00 -> large size
[10:39:15] <@wrbtrader> 20+5
[10:39:51] <@wrbtrader> been having problems with this WRB Hidden GAP all day
[10:40:31] <@wrbtrader> Its now defining the range bound price action for Emini ES futures
[10:41:02] <@wrbtrader> retesting S area of the WRB Hidden GAP
[10:42:58] <@wrbtrader> another snap back off the S/R areas of the WRB Hidden GAP
[10:43:27] <@wrbtrader> geeesh...
[10:43:40] <@wrbtrader> Emini ES just content on trading inside that WRB HG
[10:44:22] <@wrbtrader> If anybody remembers Emini ES many years ago in here...
[10:44:32] <@wrbtrader> Its the primary reason why I stopped trading it.
[10:45:01] <@wrbtrader> It would go long periods of a trading day being stuck inside the range of some key WRB Hidden GAP...
[10:45:19] <@wrbtrader> While other key markets were trading "outside"
[10:45:55] <@wrbtrader> so far...32 minutes inside that range
[10:45:58] <squiggles> So, Wrbtrader, what has tempted you back into the ES ?
[10:46:21] <@wrbtrader> shakeup
[10:47:31] <@wrbtrader> Its the only trading instrument I use to throw in the hornet nest in my trading.
[10:47:49] <@wrbtrader> After that...I'm good to go for the remainder 1/2 of the year
[10:48:18] <@wrbtrader> retest of the R area
[10:48:34] <squiggles> Hah, spice things up a bit you mean
[10:49:24] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...
[10:49:53] <@wrbtrader> I hit a wall early last week in my trading
[10:50:23] <MattyR> what do you mean wall... got bored?
[10:50:25] <@wrbtrader> In trading Emini TF, CL and GC
[10:51:11] <@wrbtrader> I stop catching runners
[10:51:54] <squiggles> TF volatilty down spike
[10:52:25] <@wrbtrader> when I use to trade Eurex DAX and Crude Oil CL...
[10:52:44] <@wrbtrader> If I hit that wall...I would trade Emini ES a few days to shake up my trading.
[10:53:08] <MattyR> I trade dax during the euro morning session .. 5pm local time here in oz
[10:54:10] <@wrbtrader> Back inside the WRB Hidden GAP
[10:54:21] <squiggles> Which side of OZ you in MattyR ?
[10:54:38] <MattyR> east, im in sydney
[10:54:45] <@wrbtrader> meant DAX and Brent
[10:54:48] <@wrbtrader> not Crude
[10:54:56] <squiggles> WA Kalgoorlie here
[10:55:47] <MattyR> oh nice squiggles.. never been to kalgoorlie... was in perth earlier this year
[10:55:59] <@wrbtrader> Long Gold GC @ 1405.40
[10:56:12] <@wrbtrader> 3+1
[10:57:40] <squiggles> CL taking a rest from its steady up trend
[10:57:54] <@wrbtrader> inverse markets trying to correlate :(
[10:59:03] <@wrbtrader> Exit all Gold GC @ 1408.70
[10:59:30] <@wrbtrader> +3.30
[10:59:39] <MattyR> nice
[11:00:04] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini ES Short @ 1610.50 --> - 3.5
[11:01:29] <@wrbtrader> I'm using -4 point stops in Emini ES but I'm exiting the losers about 1 point beyond the noted R or S areas
[11:01:52] <@wrbtrader> Thus, just a coincidence I'm exiting @ -3.5 on the losers
[11:02:08] <@wrbtrader> Simply, not using fixed stops
[11:02:27] <MattyR> what size stop do you normally use on gc?
[11:02:33] <@wrbtrader> -4 stop is just an emergency stop if something crashes
[11:02:45] <MattyR> ok
[11:02:56] <@wrbtrader> Gold GC I use - 2
[11:03:08] <@wrbtrader> That's my emergency hard stop
[11:03:16] <MattyR> ok thanks
[11:03:18] <@wrbtrader> something is wrong if I let that get hit
[11:03:39] <@wrbtrader> Emini ES I use an emergency - 4 stop
[11:03:56] <@wrbtrader> Years ago I used - 8 when it had a ton of volatility
[11:04:16] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF emergency stop is - 2
[11:04:31] <MattyR> do you ever scale into position... ie would you add at minus half your stop?
[11:05:08] <@wrbtrader> I only scale into a position during unusual price action that shows up consistently
[11:05:19] <@wrbtrader> Yesterday we had that.
[11:05:27] <MattyR> ok
[11:05:43] <@wrbtrader> Had that type of price action showed up today...I would have done a few scale ins
[11:07:01] <@wrbtrader> There's a post at the forum that I upload once EVERY month...that' contains all that information
[11:07:18] <@wrbtrader> It's called "daily routine"
[11:07:37] <MattyR> ok great... I will check that one out
[11:08:30] <@wrbtrader> In that post theres a discussion that explains how I use emergency stops with mental stops
[11:09:05] <@wrbtrader> I learned about 7 years ago of using both after some problem with the kids and computer issues.
[11:10:05] <@wrbtrader> Its simple...
[11:10:18] <@wrbtrader> I rarely let an emergency stop gets hit.
[11:10:41] <@wrbtrader> The times when it does get hit...its an emergency issue that I wasn't able to react too.
[11:11:12] <MattyR> do you find using wider emergency stops still lets you get out closer to your entry anyway, because your not getting taken out if you had a tight stop
[11:11:15] <@wrbtrader> Mental stops are a price where I know the trade is wrong and I need to exit.
[11:11:35] <@wrbtrader> My losers are usually LESS than my mental stops.
[11:11:54] <@wrbtrader> Thus, I usually exit losing traders prior to mental stops being reached.
[11:12:16] <@wrbtrader> I use like a -1.5 in Emini TF for a mental stop
[11:12:30] <@wrbtrader> -2 point emergency stop in Emini TF
[11:12:45] <@wrbtrader> I try hard to exit a loser LESS than -1.5
[11:12:58] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF has like a -1 point wiggle room
[11:13:17] <@wrbtrader> or some call it a 1 point roaming range
[11:13:24] <@wrbtrader> up and down
[11:13:51] <MattyR> since ive come into the room and started using wider emergency stops i find im getting out when i think im on the wrong side for smaller loss than when i was using a 10 tick hard stop
[11:15:18] <@wrbtrader> Everybody has their own risk tolerance level
[11:15:49] <@wrbtrader> I met someone last week that would fall apart if he got hit with a -1.0 loss in Emini TF futures
[11:16:05] <@wrbtrader> He based his entired trade management around -1 point.
[11:16:26] <@wrbtrader> Met someone about a month ago that had similar like reactions but only when its -6 points
[11:16:51] <@wrbtrader> For me...its -2 points that will make me mad
[11:17:04] <MattyR> ok
[11:17:22] <@wrbtrader> I can get 10 consecutive losing trades for -0.8 and feel in control
[11:17:32] <@wrbtrader> One losing trade for -2 and I get unglued
[11:17:47] <MattR_> interesting
[11:17:49] <MattyR> ha ha ok
[11:17:53] <@wrbtrader> Its one of those psychological mind games that trading plays
[11:18:07] <MattyR> when did last take 10 losers?
[11:18:25] <@wrbtrader> two years ago
[11:18:33] <@wrbtrader> very small losses
[11:18:42] <MattyR> ok
[11:19:06] <@wrbtrader> a few trade errors in their too
[11:19:38] <MattyR> do you get mad because you feel like you should have exited early when you had the chance or just cause you miss read the market?
[11:21:09] <MattyR> on a full stop i mean
[11:21:16] <@wrbtrader> I don't get mad if I misread the markets.
[11:21:32] <@wrbtrader> I get mad when I have the price direction read correctly and I still get losses :(
[11:21:40] <@wrbtrader> You know those types of trades...
[11:21:54] <MattyR> yes i do :)
[11:22:07] <@wrbtrader> For example, market is going upwards and you know its going to go higher via your analysis...
[11:22:21] <@wrbtrader> You get Long, it retraces and hits your stop loss
[11:22:34] <MattyR> to the tick usually
[11:22:43] <@wrbtrader> Then you wait for a re-entry signal...doesn't happen while the market continues going higher
[11:23:27] <@wrbtrader> I once had Emini TF direction on a very volatility trading day nailed.
[11:23:57] <@wrbtrader> In the uptrend it moved 5 points...I got Long...it retraced and took me out for a loss.
[11:24:17] <@wrbtrader> then it went up another 5 points...got Long again...retraced...another loss.
[11:24:34] <@wrbtrader> It then went up like 6 more point before signaling an entry...
[11:24:42] <@wrbtrader> Got Long...it retraced.
[11:25:00] <MattyR> walk away day
[11:25:03] <@wrbtrader> Well...4 longs...all losers...Emini TF moved like +21 points
[11:25:07] <@wrbtrader> Yep, exactly
[11:25:44] <gary07> those are some mentally challenging days...people who dont trade dont understand it
[11:25:48] <@wrbtrader> Thus, I'll rather get losing trades because I got the price direction wrong
[11:25:52] <MattyR> its hard to walk away when you want your money back... i slowly learning though
[11:26:08] <@wrbtrader> Tough pill to swallow a loser when I get the price direction correct
[11:26:20] <MattyR> absolutely
[11:26:58] <@wrbtrader> I would get about 3 - 5 losing days like that a long time ago
[11:27:25] <@wrbtrader> Doesn't happen anymore because I've gotten a better grip on the psychological aspect of those types of days
[11:28:27] <squiggles> CL retracing off R area of 1003 to 1006 WRB Hg
[11:37:47] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF stuck big time inside a low volatility tight trading range
[11:41:48] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini ES @ 1612.50 -> large size
[11:42:00] <canaandog> in contrast to most everything else, 6E has had a relatively steady trend day since reg session open
[11:44:27] <@wrbtrader> Emini ES retesting that long upper shadow reaction point

##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader (position trading, swing trading, day trading) can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience traders in price action trading.

The purpose of ##TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called ##VolatilityTradingTSL or ##WRB_Analysis and they're not allowed to do such in ##TheStrategyLab.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that ##TheStrategyLab is a serious professional price action trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: chat logs saved (timestamp) from Québec, Canada in eastern daylight time
