##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room for traders using WRB Analysis (e.g. Contracting Volatility, WRB, WRB Hidden GAP, WRB Zone) by itself or merged with other trade methods to improve the performance of those other trade methods regardless if you're a position trader, swing trader or day trader. Therefore, you're welcome to use the chat room to ask questions about WRB Analysis, post real-time price action trading analysis involving WRB Analysis merged with your own trade methods, post real-time trades or talk about general market issues impacting today's price action involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners, experience, part-time, full-time) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to help develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading.

##TheStrategyLab is primarily designed to only be a trade journal for documentation purposes so that members can have a real time stamp archive of their trades and their market commentaries of each trading day...giving them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day in the past. Therefore, if you use our chat room...its highly recommended you post messages that reflect what you see in the price action on your monitors so that the chat room becomes your diary (journal) to correlate with trades on your broker statements.

Also, if you want ##TheStrategyLab chat room to be educational for you, ask questions instead of lurking (not participating in conversations). You can talk about anything related to price action analysis, trade execution, financial markets, economies or news impacting the markets in general.

Quote:
The chat room is only for traders using concepts of WRB Analysis. In addition, traders that use ##TheStrategyLab are not required to post trades but if you do post trades...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding price action trading. To log into ##TheStrategyLab chat room that's located on the Freenode IRC network...please follow the instructions here at the FTCHAT Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 or via the the instructions from the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

[09:47:53] <MattR_> in Stock Market Indexes.
[09:48:47] <@wrbtrader> MattR...wow about that stats because most folks don't feel a lot of love from this bull market. Maybe its because of the crappy economics surrounding it.
[09:49:40] <MattR_> Could be.
[09:49:47] <wave__> selling continues
[09:49:58] <wave__> checl
[09:50:26] <canaandog> eminis maybe waiting for 1000 kme

[09:53:27] <@wrbtrader> back above the S area of the most recent Down WRB Hidden GAP via the 2min chart
[09:53:59] <@wrbtrader> Gold GC futures now climbing the range of the most recent long upper shadow
[09:54:00] <wave___> see if qqq 72.6 holds?
[09:54:08] <wave___> may try L there
[09:55:22] <@wrbtrader> I'll be looking for Shorts on anything that passes below 1384.80 and Long for anything above 1386.40
[09:55:40] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Gold GC @ 1384.50 -> medium size
[09:55:52] <@wrbtrader> 3+1
[09:56:02] <@wrbtrader> re-entry
[09:56:59] <@wrbtrader> So far, my profitable trails and stop/loss have been hit without me exiting on my own terms
[09:57:22] <@wrbtrader> This big volatility spike down in Gold GC should change that if it holds the volatility.
[09:57:31] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[09:58:17] <@wrbtrader> snap back threating this WRB pt1 from converting into a WRB Hidden GAP pt1
[09:59:31] <squiggles> Markets very jumpy today
[09:59:52] <@wrbtrader> WRB Hidden GAP pt1 reached
[10:00:13] <@wrbtrader> Covered 3/4 Gold GC Short @ 1380.50 --> + 4
[10:00:54] <diesel_> super call
[10:01:45] <@wrbtrader> It's a trade...not a call (seriously)
[10:02:16] <@wrbtrader> Signal Calls are hypothetical...something signal calling services do.
[10:02:49] <@wrbtrader> This is not a signal calling service.
[10:04:11] <@wrbtrader> In comparison...here's a "call" (real example)...
[10:04:27] <@wrbtrader> I'm expecting Gold GC futures to reach 1380.00
[10:04:45] <diesel_> thank you
[10:04:48] <wave___> agree same on futs s the pop
[10:04:55] <@wrbtrader> My point, if it hits 1380...you can then say "nice call" :)
[10:05:06] <MattR_> hah
[10:05:32] <diesel_> differrence with distinction
[10:05:58] <squiggles> We are seeing some amazing volatility in gold lately. For example $1412 at 1000 yesterday then back down to $1352 at 1400 yesterday and back up to $1396 at 0815 today
[10:06:44] <TigermanTrader> yes a lot volatility in gold
[10:06:54] <TigermanTrader> also very jumpy
[10:07:10] <@wrbtrader> My call on 1380 being hit again is not looking good so far...looks like its a "bad call".
[10:07:18] <TigermanTrader> btw prive moved very fast over my stops before
[10:07:21] <wave___> y not my cup of tea...:(
[10:07:40] <TigermanTrader> prive = price
[10:07:54] <@wrbtrader> I was too slow to cover that remainder on the first time it hit 1380.00
[10:08:22] <TigermanTrader> wtbtrader did you note gold future GC sometimes jump over stops ??
[10:08:23] <@wrbtrader> Most recent WRB Hidden GAP being retraced :(
[10:08:57] <@wrbtrader> Covered Remainder Gold GC Short @ 1384.00 --> + 0.5
[10:09:19] <@wrbtrader> profitable trade...bad call about the 1380 analysis.
[10:09:52] <@wrbtrader> Tigerman...I don't see it "jumping" or don't notice such.
[10:09:56] <canaandog> tf climbing steadily
[10:10:00] <TigermanTrader> tf try to move higher
[10:10:31] <@wrbtrader> I do see it moving FAST through price levels...any stalls in your data will make it look like its "jumping" over price levels
[10:11:06] <TigermanTrader> ok thanks simply om my past trades the price jumped over my stop and I received no fill at all
[10:11:37] <@wrbtrader> what kind of stop you used when that happen ?
[10:11:50] <TigermanTrader> anyway agreed is VERY FAST more then CL for me
[10:12:01] <@wrbtrader> fill only at a specific price or fill at any price when price traverses past a specific price
[10:12:45] <TigermanTrader> fill when price traverse a specific price
[10:13:45] <TigermanTrader> in reality my stop are set so when price move over that level I got a fill next tick
[10:14:11] <@wrbtrader> So far, I've been primarily doing a lot of market orders in Gold GC futures on entries/exits...
[10:14:42] <@wrbtrader> Trail stops have been set at the furthest s/r area of the most recent WRB Hidden GAP
[10:15:09] <TigermanTrader> GC is very hard to trade very fast
[10:15:15] <@wrbtrader> Thus, most of my stops are BIG in Gold GC futures because its "too FAST".
[10:15:23] <TigermanTrader> not for newbe
[10:15:38] <@wrbtrader> agree
[10:16:05] <TigermanTrader> but have a lot of volatility so one is tempted to trade it
[10:16:38] <canaandog> flat tf 974.7, +36t
[10:16:46] <@wrbtrader> Gold GC slows down sometimes in the morning...
[10:17:01] <squiggles> But get on the wrong side of a move with slippage on stops and you could be hammered ?
[10:17:01] <@wrbtrader> That's when its getting ready to do another FAST movement through levels.
[10:17:09] <@wrbtrader> It's slowing down now
[10:17:45] <canaandog> trail hit
[10:18:36] <@wrbtrader> Long Gold GC @ 1384.20 -> medium size
[10:18:50] <@wrbtrader> 2+2
[10:20:56] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Gold GC Long @ 1385.00 --> + 0.8
[10:21:03] <@wrbtrader> trail hit again
[10:21:10] <werner1> hi all
[10:21:34] <canaandog> hi werner
[10:22:40] <diesel_> hey
[10:22:56] <@wrbtrader> Long Gold GC @ 1385.50 -> small size
[10:23:05] <@wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[10:23:07] <@wrbtrader> re-entry
[10:23:44] <@wrbtrader> Gold GC fighting the help from other key markets :(
[10:24:30] <@wrbtrader> long upper shadows showing up
[10:25:20] <canaandog> cl spike
[10:26:12] <TigermanTrader> yep gold not follow
[10:26:40] <@wrbtrader> Crude Oil CL futures absorbing all the volatility from other key markets
[10:26:50] <Guest45699> Yo all
[10:26:52] <@wrbtrader> contraction volatility in other markets
[10:27:06] <TigermanTrader> can be related to pendil gas news wrbtrader?
[10:27:13] <TigermanTrader> pending
[10:27:15] <@wrbtrader> Yep
[10:27:29] <TigermanTrader> ok
[10:28:10] * Guest45699 is now known as Ivo
[10:28:39] * Ivo is now known as Guest19389
[10:29:16] <@wrbtrader> Gold GC futures trying hard to climb those most recent long upper shadow intervals
[10:31:36] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 (shallow) reached :(
[10:31:47] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Gold GC Long @ 1385.60 --> + 0.1
[10:32:04] <squiggles> wrbtrader - in your trades do you see much slippage on your stops ? That is in comparing "normal" market conditions and as to times of high volatility ?
[10:32:25] <@wrbtrader> No
[10:32:58] <@wrbtrader> I try to Short on UpTicks and go Long on DownTicks...
[10:33:26] <@wrbtrader> Usually when I get slippage...its because I'm chasing with "market orders"
[10:34:09] <@wrbtrader> Slippage is an issue associated with market order types.
[10:34:20] <squiggles> Sorry , I was thinking about protective stops , not stop orders
[10:34:20] <@wrbtrader> Simply, if you're having a problem with slippage...
[10:34:27] <@wrbtrader> Ok
[10:34:51] <@wrbtrader> on protectective stops...
[10:35:03] <werner1> hi milalo :)
[10:35:20] <@wrbtrader> It works both ways...sometimes you get bad fills against your and sometimes you get favorable fills
[10:37:21] <@wrbtrader> Price action in many key markets are now in CONTRACTION.
[10:37:35] <@wrbtrader> Good fills now if you like trading slow price action
[10:38:21] <@wrbtrader> meant...small spreads and enough time to enter none market orders
[10:39:28] <TigermanTrader> yeah in contrast price move anywhere and when move is usually against me in this kind of price action
[10:40:01] <TigermanTrader> anywhere in tight range and very slow
[10:40:19] <TigermanTrader> simply I prefer avoid that mud :)
[10:41:28] <@wrbtrader> Yeah, that mud or quicksand like contracting volatility reduces trade opportunities and the ability to recover from losses.
[10:42:51] <squiggles> wrbtrader - I'm just thinking about times like just after midday on Monday this week 20th May when in the space of a couple of minutes gold ran from $1366 to $1397. If you were in a short just before then and had a protective stop in place, I wonder how much slippage one might have suffered ?
[10:51:08] <@wrbtrader> I wasn't here on Monday (took the day off).
[10:51:39] <@wrbtrader> Thus, tough for me to answer such considering I wasn't trading that price action.
[10:52:01] <@wrbtrader> Yet, I have traded FAST moving price actions A LOT.
[10:52:44] <@wrbtrader> It depends on the trading instrument...
[10:53:03] <@wrbtrader> Emini ES futures...I wouldn't expect 1 - 2 ticks at worst.
[10:53:49] <@wrbtrader> Emini TF futures...I wouldn't expect 2 - 3 ticks at worst in unusual (extreme) volatility price movements
[10:54:51] <squiggles> thanks
[10:54:54] <@wrbtrader> Gold GC futures...nothing more than 4 - 6 ticks at worst in unusual (extreme) volatility price movements
[10:55:22] <@wrbtrader> I have not traded Gold GC futures this year in any unusual (extreme) volatility price movements.
[10:55:55] <@wrbtrader> Thus, even if I was here on Monday...I don't know if I would have classified that as unusual (extreme) volatility.
[10:56:27] <@wrbtrader> I usually call something unusual (extreme) volatility is when it moves many points in less than 1 minute.
[10:58:25] <squiggles> That's good. It's comforting that slippage would likely be relatively minor even during large movements. Thanks for your insight
[11:00:55] <@wrbtrader> ##TheStrategyLab -> - This chat room is not intended to be educational because the chat room is designed for you to use it as your own personal journal as a trader. Yet, if you have trading related questions or you need help in understanding the price action you're trading, it's your responsibility to ask questions in here to get answers. Simply, nobody in here can read your mind if you LURK (do not ask questions).
[11:07:50] <TigermanTrader> take care aee all next time

[16:06:16] <t4npaper> i dont see why TF is the only one to pop
[16:06:49] <@wrbtrader> Its a "market tendency" for Emini TF futures only.
[16:07:11] <@wrbtrader> It's been like that since the day of its birth when if was first born on the CME Exchange
[16:07:45] <@wrbtrader> It has more volatility than any of the other Emini Futures and usually more volatility than any other futures trading instrument...
[16:07:59] <@wrbtrader> Going into the 4pm est regular session close.
[16:08:14] <t4npaper> yeah

[16:08:35] <t4npaper> i have never grasped it
[16:09:06] <@wrbtrader> I know a few traders that make their living ONLY trading the last 30 minutes of the Emini TF futures

[16:11:48] <t4npaper> good to have that in your arsenal
[16:12:24] <@wrbtrader> That's why I call that time duration an "ATM money machine".
[16:12:24] <t4npaper> I realize now that I have allways had a problem trading in the "trend" direction
[16:12:47] <@wrbtrader> Yeah, once in awhile its dead in the last 30 minutes but most of the times its very active.
[16:13:03] <@wrbtrader> Maybe there's some sort'uv hedging going on with the big boys.
[16:13:26] <t4npaper> dont know, but EOD is important to me
[16:13:35] <t4npaper> i never see the open remember
[16:20:53] <@wrbtrader> Yeah, for traders that are unable to trade the important first 2 hours of the regular session...
[16:21:17] <@wrbtrader> They should concentrate on learning how to trade the last 30 minutes of the regular trading session.
[16:21:34] <@wrbtrader> I still have 5 contracts holding.
[16:21:47] <@wrbtrader> Debating about a swing trade which is why I'm still here with an open position

##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader (position trading, swing trading, day trading) can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience traders in price action trading.

The purpose of ##TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called ##VolatilityTradingTSL or ##WRB_Analysis and they're not allowed to do such in ##TheStrategyLab.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that ##TheStrategyLab is a serious professional price action trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: chat logs saved (timestamp) from Québec, Canada in eastern daylight time
