##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room for traders using WRB Analysis (e.g. Contracting Volatility, WRB, WRB Hidden GAP, WRB Zone) by itself or merged with other trade methods to improve the performance of those other trade methods regardless if you're a position trader, swing trader or day trader. Therefore, you're welcome to use the chat room to ask questions about WRB Analysis, post real-time price action analysis involving WRB Analysis merged with your own trade methods, post real-time trades or talk about general market issues impacting today's price action involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners, experience, part-time, full-time) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to help develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading...improving their position size management and trade management after entry.

##TheStrategyLab is primarily designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of their trades and their market commentaries of each trading day...giving them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day in the past. Therefore, if you use our chat room...its highly recommended you post messages that reflect what you see in the price action on your monitors. Your diary (journal).

Also, if you want ##TheStrategyLab chat room to be educational for you...please ask questions instead of lurking (not participating in conversations).

Quote:
Chat room only for traders using concepts of WRB Analysis. In addition, traders that use ##TheStrategyLab are not required to post trades but if you do post trades...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding the price action you're trading. To log into ##TheStrategyLab chat room that's located on the Freenode IRC network...please follow the instructions here at the FTCHAT Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 or via the the instructions from the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

[09:30:30] <wrbtrader> price acton now reacting the way I want it too with the opening of the regular session U.S. markets
[09:30:51] <wrbtrader> meant "not reacting the way I want to see it do"
[09:31:17] <wrbtrader> long lower shadows showing up
[09:31:52] <Trendtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 939.3
[09:31:54] <Trendtrader> x1
[09:33:21] <wrbtrader> Covered all Light Crude Oil CL Short @ 92.33 --> - 0.1
[09:35:21] <Trendtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 940.1 --> - 0.8
[09:35:49] <wrbtrader> Gold GC futures up strongly since 0820am est mainly due to the fear out of Europe involving Cyprus
[09:36:26] <wrbtrader> actually been up strongly since 0300am est
[09:38:09] <wrbtrader> key markets not insync with their volatility surges
[09:39:45] <wrbtrader> Long Light Crude Oil CL @ 92.60 -> large size
[09:39:57] <wrbtrader> 6 contracts
[09:44:20] <wrbtrader> contracting volatility showing up more now :(
[09:46:39] <wrbtrader> Price action struggling inside the range of the WRB Hidden GAP @ 0915am - 0916am est
[09:47:24] <wrbtrader> R area of 5min WRB Hidden GAP @ 0915am - 0920am est is 92.57
[09:47:46] <wrbtrader> contracting volatility showing up in Gold GC futures too
[09:48:02] <wrbtrader> key markets insync on the contracting volatility
[09:49:34] <wrbtrader> This long position starting to look like a churn if it can't get above 92.75
[09:49:42] <wrbtrader> :(
[09:50:23] <wrbtrader> Exited all Light Crude Oil CL Long @ 92.73 --> + 0.13
[09:51:06] <canaandog> still, churn better than straight loss
[09:51:15] <wrbtrader> Yep
[09:51:36] <Zr1trader> Mark , you still trading March CL contract?
[09:56:44] <wrbtrader> I have both H and J contracts up but haven't started trading J contract
[09:57:05] <wrbtrader> not worry about it considering I'm not swing trading Oil
[09:57:46] <wrbtrader> J contract about 0.40 less than the H contract
[09:58:20] <wrbtrader> volatility exactly the same
[10:03:21] <Zr1trader> I see, my data vendor isn't showing updated H (march) data anymore so I figured April was where the majority of liquidity is and maybe it slipped your mind to go to april contract.
[10:04:09] <wrbtrader> No...I always keep both contracts up on my broker platform (not my charting platform)
[10:04:10] <canaandog> I'm using may K
[10:04:33] <wrbtrader> I won't put K up until the end of the month
[10:04:47] <Zr1trader> ok makes sense :)
[10:05:22] <wrbtrader> Eminis are different in comparison to Oil contracts
[10:05:38] <wrbtrader> You can have 3 different Oil contracts actively trading at the same time
[10:05:48] <wrbtrader> In contrast, you won't see such in the Emini futures
[10:06:19] <wrbtrader> usually when one contract starts to die...the other is picking up the volatility while the old one starts to loose its volatility
[10:07:22] <wrbtrader> If I was swing trading Oil CL futures...I would only have up J and K contracts (not H contract)
[10:08:05] <wrbtrader> to prevent any overnight problems with the H contract that I may forget about involving its expiration
[10:08:44] <wrbtrader> Emini TF futures retracing the most recent WRB Hidden GAP on the 3min chart
[10:09:00] <wrbtrader> Its now below the S area of that WRB Hidden GAP
[10:15:12] <canaandog> spike 6e
[10:15:15] <Zr1trader> CL vol increase too
[10:17:17] <wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 942.30 -> large size
[10:17:39] <wrbtrader> volatility surges in many different key markets
[10:17:47] <wrbtrader> 10 contracts
[10:18:31] <wrbtrader> in the red for the month so far on my Emini TF trades by -1.5 or ($150) dollars
[10:19:05] <wrbtrader> Trades in Oil CL futures is where all my profits are at so far this month
[10:19:43] <wrbtrader> Oil CL futures surging higher again
[10:19:58] <wrbtrader> looks like I switch to Emini TF futures at the wrong time :(
[10:22:17] <wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 943.10 --> + 0.8
[10:22:38] <Zr1trader> Short NG 3.946 4 contract
[10:30:06] <Zr1trader> Exit all NG 3.950 -4 ticks
[10:35:07] <wrbtrader> Long Light Crude Oil CL @ 93.63 -> large size
[10:35:21] <wrbtrader> 7 contracts
[10:36:28] <wrbtrader> giving up on Emini TF futures...watched it far too long and at the wrong time while other trading instruments were surging in their volatility
[10:41:41] <wrbtrader> thats a K contract
[10:45:00] <wrbtrader> now have J & H up on Oil CL but lost my Brent K contract data
[10:45:58] <wrbtrader> Anybody notice the volume in QM has been increasing the past few months in comparison to prior (recent) years
[10:47:20] <wrbtrader> Maybe I had data problems the past years because it was active for many years and suddenly was fairly inactive for a few years and now the past few months the volume/volatility has been increasing
[10:47:44] <wrbtrader> QM is the Emini Oil futures
[10:49:01] <Zr1trader> I've only traded since 08 and Haven't traded QM that much so guess I haven't noticed but good to know.
[10:49:34] <wrbtrader> I've not traded it too...just once in awhile I'll take a look at a few months of data in it each year
[10:49:52] <wrbtrader> Emini TF futures range bound
[10:50:14] <wrbtrader> usually I don't like to be in a Oil CL trade when other key markets start to go range bound
[10:52:05] <Zr1trader> Compared to YG YI, miny gold silver, QM has a thicker book. (more volume). I sometimes trade these contracts on larger timeframes if the risk is too much for me on the normal contracts GC SI CL
[10:52:52] <Zr1trader> But the stops usually get slipped worse....
[10:53:44] <Zr1trader> so its good to give yourself some room for error with those illiquid ones.
[10:54:49] <wrbtrader> Gold GC futures has taken a big hit since its intraday highs @ 1000am est
[10:55:54] <wrbtrader> Its one of the few of the key markets not range bound
[10:55:57] <wrbtrader> right now
[10:56:21] <wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[10:59:00] <wrbtrader> Exited all Light Crude Oil CL Long @ 93.67 --> + 0.04
[11:06:01] <wrbtrader> Shorts Light Crude Oil CL @ 93.64 -> medium size
[11:06:07] <wrbtrader> 4 contracts
[11:06:15] <wrbtrader> :(
[11:06:24] <wrbtrader> looking for a Houdini Escape
[11:06:41] <wrbtrader> trade error
[11:11:04] <wrbtrader> Covered all Light Crude Oil CL Short @ 93.58 --> + 0.06
[11:12:06] <wrbtrader> Oil CL futures should not be range bound right now
[11:13:22] <wrbtrader> Long Light Crude Oil CL @ 93.55 -> large size
[11:13:36] <wrbtrader> 6 contracts
[11:16:16] <wrbtrader> I'm fighting too much "contracting volatility" in many key markets that's also range bound
[11:16:48] <wrbtrader> should be sidelined right now...
[11:16:57] <wrbtrader> lunch break after I close this trade
[11:16:59] <coolmoss> I appreciate that comment because I'm learning on US equities markets and it's REALLY tough to find any trade last few days
[11:17:09] * MattR_ is now known as MattR_away
[11:17:17] <coolmoss> I mean DCM or FVB type trades anyway
[11:17:30] <wrbtrader> agree
[11:17:58] <wrbtrader> last week I expected a lot of volatility and didn't see much of it
[11:18:10] <wrbtrader> tough week of trading for me last week
[11:19:42] <wrbtrader> Exited all Light Crude Oil CL Long @ 93.56 --> + 0.01
[11:20:08] <wrbtrader> that was a great trade entry and didn't push out of the low volatility tight trading range
[11:25:13] <Zr1trader> NG has been creating wrbs to downside, (after top ticking me first of course :))
[11:29:44] <wrbtrader> someone corrected me via pm...
[11:30:22] <wrbtrader> Depending upon the broker...you may have access to 4 actively traded Oil CL contracts
[11:30:30] <wrbtrader> meant contract months
[11:31:03] <wrbtrader> I only have 3 because I can't get N and Q right now
[11:31:13] <wrbtrader> whereas others may be able to get N month
[11:31:44] <wrbtrader> earlier I said H but I only have J K and M months (not H)
[11:32:08] <wrbtrader> by my data provider (not broker) only has J and K months for viewing
[11:32:29] <wrbtrader> not sure why I can't pull up M, N and Q with my data provider
[11:34:46] <wrbtrader> In contrast, I can only see K contract of Brent right now
[11:36:06] <wrbtrader> eventhough I know the M month is picking up activity via a different broker
[11:59:26] <wrbtrader> Long Light Crude Oil CL @ 93.70 -> medium size
[11:59:31] <wrbtrader> 4 contracts
[12:00:38] <wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[12:00:58] <wrbtrader> volatility surge
[12:01:21] <wrbtrader> Exited all Light Crude Oil CL Long @ 93.92 --> + 0.22
[12:03:43] <wrbtrader> Oil CL futures has had good follow-through after its volatility spikes so far today
[12:39:55] <wrbtrader> Eurex DAX on the M contract...last week I may have said N contract
[13:20:31] <wrbtrader> Markets drop amid Cyprus bailout worries (CNNMoney) @ http://money.cnn.com/2013/03/18/investi ... d=HP_River

[14:40:27] <wrbtrader> 2+2
[14:45:05] <wrbtrader> I think I'm going to leave Oil CL futures alone for the rest of the day after I close this trade
[14:45:37] <wrbtrader> starting to look like its done for the day and will just stay in a low volatility tight trading range for the remainder of the regular trading session
[14:46:08] <t4npaper> thats normal after 230
[14:46:51] <wrbtrader> Yeah but I was hoping for a little surprise on the volatility for this time period
[14:47:12] <wrbtrader> Heck, my expectations for volatility has been way off the past week or so :)
[14:48:13] <t4npaper> open and close vol is a good bet
[14:51:56] <wrbtrader> Been seeing a lot more "sticky prices" in the Emini futures lately
[14:52:20] <wrbtrader> especially in the late afternoon trading session

[15:20:16] <wrbtrader> Eminis now trying to do the same
[15:21:52] <wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 943.80 --> + 0.2
[15:22:05] <wrbtrader> :(
[15:22:52] <canaandog> yeah. I was short at 945, then didn't like action and dumped, just before spike down.
[15:24:57] <wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 943.80 -> large size
[15:25:07] <wrbtrader> 10 contracts
[15:25:30] <wrbtrader> I'm still way above my profit goal for the day...

[16:12:02] <wrbtrader> Had a tough time in Oil CL futures today but profitable
[16:12:48] <wrbtrader> problem mainly due to the last 2 trades in that extended contracting volatility duration
[16:13:05] <wrbtrader> Other key markets were'net helping too
[16:13:43] <wrbtrader> Volatility today mainly due to Europe Cyprus concerns
[16:14:55] <wrbtrader> Yet, banks in Cyprus were closed today for the holiday.
[16:15:27] <wrbtrader> Will be watching Europe's reaction tomorrow very closely when Cyprus banks open for normal day of business...may see a run on the bank by its citizens.

##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader (position trading, swing trading, day trading) can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience

The purpose of ##TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called ##VolatilityTradingTSL or ##WRB_Analysis and they're not allowed to do such in ##TheStrategyLab.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that ##TheStrategyLab is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.
