##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room for traders using WRB Analysis (e.g. Contracting Volatility, WRB, WRB Hidden GAP, WRB Zone) by itself or merged with other trade methods to improve the performance of those other trade methods regardless if you're a position trader, swing trader or day trader. Therefore, you're welcome to use the chat room to ask questions about WRB Analysis, post real-time price action analysis involving WRB Analysis merged with your own trade methods, post real-time trades or talk about general market issues impacting today's price action involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners, experience, part-time, full-time) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to help develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading...improving their position size management and trade management after entry.

##TheStrategyLab is primarily designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of their trades and their market commentaries of each trading day...giving them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day in the past. Therefore, if you use our chat room...its highly recommended you post messages that reflect what you see in the price action on your monitors. Your diary (journal).

Also, if you want ##TheStrategyLab chat room to be educational for you...please ask questions instead of lurking (not participating in conversations).

Quote:
Chat room only for traders using concepts of WRB Analysis. In addition, traders that use ##TheStrategyLab are not required to post trades but if you do post trades...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding the price action you're trading. [11:23:25] <TigermanTrader> many thanks :)
[11:33:25] <p2> low volatility scam market, you just know they will push it higher again
[11:38:18] <p2> they can't wait to push TF over 926
[11:40:26] <@wrbtrader> p2...I call those "creepers" (sneaky monsters) when volatility is low and price action goes higher.
[11:40:38] <@wrbtrader> Very sneaky price action...tricks a lot of Shorts
[11:40:58] <p2> yes has been this whole year now
[11:41:15] <p2> I am very frustrated that why I peak on your site :)
[11:41:38] <p2> now the trades are going my way though
[11:42:17] <p2> my system has been flat for months
[11:42:25] <p2> needs some movement
[11:43:28] <@wrbtrader> I've been looking at the weekly chart of the SPX index
[11:44:12] <@wrbtrader> All those small intervals (volatility contraction) on higher price movements while the VIX is at lows
[11:44:40] <p2> since the start of 2013 the VIX is very low
[11:44:44] <p2> yes
[11:44:47] <p2> no fear
[11:44:47] <@wrbtrader> Pullbacks or small corrections don't last long before the market goes higher
[11:45:21] <p2> it takes hours to push it down a bit and then 3 seconds to wipe all the short profits away
[11:45:52] <p2> still I stick with the system and hope volatility all of a sudden will return
[11:46:10] <p2> this happened half October 2012 as well
[11:46:40] <p2> but I need to learn to become a discretionary trader
[11:48:41] <@wrbtrader> I have not seen the VIX this low in many years
[11:48:59] <p2> yes have to go back to 2007
[11:49:00] <@wrbtrader> like 2007 or so
[11:49:02] <@wrbtrader> Yep
[11:49:18] <@wrbtrader> That was a tough trading year
[11:49:35] <p2> i think it is because they pump in all these dollars every month
[11:50:03] <@wrbtrader> I don't mind the VIX going lower...it just needs to do such on momemtum...
[11:50:12] <@wrbtrader> Yet, when it gets below 15.00
[11:50:28] <@wrbtrader> It usually just slows down to a turtle pace
[11:50:42] <p2> I would think they would create some panic once in a while
[11:51:11] <@wrbtrader> They do...I'm just waiting for the next big panic news that creates decent volatility for a few weeks...
[11:51:25] <@wrbtrader> I'll load up on the contracts because it may be the best trading of the year
[11:52:11] <p2> 19 Oct 2012 they suddenly started to move the markets until the end of November
[11:52:22] <p2> there was no real news as I recall
[11:53:22] <p2> you loaded up long?
[11:53:29] <@wrbtrader> Some conspiracy traders say that when the VIX is this low...the big boys + government creates panic (market volatility) so that the big boys can move large positions to make their profits for the year
[11:54:22] <p2> yes well I am also a conspiracy guy :)
[11:54:40] <p2> I believe a few control the markets
[11:57:31] <p2> they just have to move the heavy weighing stocks to put the index where they want it
[11:59:42] <p2> my system basically only works well in volatile markets. It is tough to make a system work in this type of market
[11:59:50] <p2> I need to adjust faster
[12:01:08] <p2> if you have a flexible mind this market is probably great
[12:01:14] <p2> just buy every dip
[12:03:11] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...got to also learn how to exploit these slow creeper directional movements when volatility is LOW
[12:03:47] <newbieman> i trade ftse and fdax
[12:03:52] <newbieman> always money there
[12:04:04] <newbieman> always volatility
[12:04:40] <p2> NQ and ES show a little weakness but TF and EMD will not buckle
[12:05:44] <p2> i also tested fdax on my system. It works but very big swings in the return curve
[12:06:06] <newbieman> big gains
[12:06:08] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...when volatility is low in whatever you're trading...gotta be willing to switch trading instruments to something that is "more volatile"
[12:06:38] <p2> yes I see many traders switch to volatile stocks
[12:07:17] <p2> I however need a system which I can backtest to give me something to hold on to
[12:07:43] <@wrbtrader> DAX, Gold GC, Oil CL, Emini TF, EuroFX 6E and Hang Seng HSI are on my list of trading instruments when the VIX is low like this.
[12:08:20] <p2> I trade oil also but was shaken out of my short today
[12:08:36] <p2> and could not re-enter
[12:08:48] <newbieman> i lose money on TF
[12:08:51] * MattR_ is now known as MattR_away
[12:08:53] <newbieman> make big on dax and ftse
[12:09:00] <newbieman> go figure
[12:09:32] <p2> come on market => flush
[12:09:43] <p2> ES and NQ almost in my cover zone
[12:11:51] <p2> will post my oil trade, just a sec
[12:13:35] <@wrbtrader> increasing volatility in the Eminis going in the mid-day trading session
[12:13:47] <p2> http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uabkDIvP2o4/U ... 00/oil.png
[12:13:58] <p2> had to short and they kicked me out
[12:14:20] <p2> could not re-enter above the moving average
[12:15:05] <@wrbtrader> I look forward to being able to trade Oil CL futures, Gold GC futures and EuroFX 6E futures between 0600am - 0900am est
[12:15:30] <p2> you can not do this now?
[12:15:32] <@wrbtrader> Haven't been able to for many years because of personal reasons with the family.
[12:15:39] <p2> ah ok
[12:15:48] <newbieman> MARK IW ILL TRADE WITH YOU
[12:15:51] <newbieman> DAX AND FTSE
[12:16:00] <newbieman> IF YOU WILLING TO WAKE UP AT 3 AM EST
[12:16:16] <p2> come on market flush a little bit more
[12:16:24] <@wrbtrader> In my opinion...the best trading opportunities occurs BEFORE 0930am est when the overall markets are "low volatility"
[12:16:51] <p2> oil is sensitive to manipulation
[12:18:17] <@wrbtrader> I think oil is volatile because of that
[12:19:40] <p2> that is why I stick to regular hours but this move today was highly suspcious
[12:19:48] <p2> but what can you do
[12:20:12] <p2> rollover day for CL today I believe
[12:24:28] <p2> this is my trade in ES at the moment. Needs to close in lower zone at the end of 5min bar ....
[12:24:32] <p2> http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y_X5cdtsWOE/U ... 600/es.png
[12:25:40] <p2> going to have some dinner
[12:32:23] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 922.20 -> small size
[12:32:37] <@wrbtrader> 1 contract
[12:32:54] <@wrbtrader> will add if it drops to 922.00
[12:41:12] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[12:41:35] <@wrbtrader> Exited Emini TF Long @ 922.80 --> + 0.6
[12:41:44] <newbieman> THANK YOU
[12:41:47] <newbieman> GREAT TRADE
[12:56:06] <@wrbtrader> time for lunch...be back later
[13:09:15] <p2> TF just can only go higher
[13:09:30] <p2> I plotted these WRB as I understand them
[13:09:34] <p2> http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4P5aajZH_cI/U ... 00/wrb.png
[13:09:38] <p2> 5min TF
[13:10:02] <p2> is the plan to wait for a retrace to the bottom of this bar?
[13:10:08] <p2> and then go log?
[13:10:10] <p2> long
[13:13:33] <canaandog> p2 - looks like you have marked WRB Hidden Gaps only? (not WRBs that did not become HGs)
[13:14:49] <p2> yes I believe so
[13:15:01] <p2> just read about these WRB's sofar
[13:15:16] <p2> hidden bars
[13:15:22] <p2> gaps
[13:15:32] <p2> what does HG mean?
[13:15:36] <canaandog> Hidden Gap
[13:15:41] <p2> ah ok
[13:16:21] <canaandog> just clarifying what you intended
[13:16:48] <canaandog> I'll leave strategy discussion to wrbtrader
[13:17:08] <p2> ok never mind, I will just watch what you guys do
[13:17:14] <p2> and first read a bit more
[13:17:43] <canaandog> but will say, wrb analysis is a tool to help understand price action, strategies follow based on that understanding
[13:17:50] <p2> they turned on the printers again
[13:18:03] <canaandog> "read a bit more"... always a good idea :)
[13:18:21] <p2> yes ok
[13:44:28] * tfidol was kicked by wrbtrader (mojo, newbieman, tfidol, marketmaker, aviator = same troublemaker)
[13:50:11] <p2> if they run the market as they have done for months now they will push TF to 926.3 and then push it down again

##TheStrategyLab (located on the Freenode IRC network) is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader (position trading, swing trading, day trading) can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience

The purpose of ##TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called ##VolatilityTradingTSL or ##WRB_Analysis and they're not allowed to do such in ##TheStrategyLab.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that ##TheStrategyLab is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.
