#TheStrategyLab (formerly known as #FuturesTrades) is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis and any trader (position trader, swing trader and day trader) can use the chat room to post their real-time trades, real-time price action analysis or market commentaries involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades, price action analysis or market commentaries in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#TheStrategyLab is primarily designed to be only a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day and this gives them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners and experience) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading...improving their position size management and trade management after entry.

Also, if you want #TheStrategyLab chat room to be educational for you...please ask questions instead of lurking (not participating in conversations).

Quote:
Chat room only for traders using concepts of WRB Analysis. In addition, traders that use #TheStrategyLab are not required to post trades but if you do post trades...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding the price action you're trading. To log into #TheStrategyLab chat room...please follow the instructions here at the FTCHAT Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 or for registered members of the chat room at the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

Note: Registration is not allowed here at the FTCHAT Forum...it is allowed at the TSL Forum (link above) that provides support for the #TheStrategyLab chat room.

[10:06:11] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 832.00 --> + 0.5
[10:06:36] <@wrbtrader> frustrating
[10:07:20] <+canaandog> yeah, mammoths jumping all over the place today
[10:08:17] <@wrbtrader> I've had 8 missed trade signals today so far.
[10:08:29] <@wrbtrader> I average about 8 per week
[10:09:03] <@wrbtrader> missed a big part of the EuroFX active hours due to arriving late to the computer...
[10:09:31] <@wrbtrader> Then I missed the initial Emini TF active 15 minutes because of network problem after the reboot.
[10:16:01] <@wrbtrader> WRB Analysis -> - Your use of this chat room implies you're using concepts from WRB Analysis to help trade either Stocks, Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), Oil Futures (Brent, CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQ, SPY), Forex Currencies (GbpUsd, EurUsd, EurYen, UsdCad) or other key market price actions.

[11:03:40] <@wrbtrader> Reminder - I'm trading EuroFX 6E futures, Light Crude Oil CL futures and Emini TF futures to battle the volatility as it moves from one trading instrument to the next.
[11:04:10] <Tigerman> gm all
[11:04:20] <@wrbtrader> Overall volatility has gotten so low that its too difficult to trade just one trading instrument unless I'm ok with not trading on some days.
[11:05:14] <@wrbtrader> My intermarket analysis charts for Oil CL futures are down today and it just happens to be the trading instrument I should be trading today.
[11:08:18] <+Tigerman> wrbtrader what do you mean by down ?
[11:08:27] <+Tigerman> no chart works
[11:08:40] <@wrbtrader> I don't have Brent futures after I rebooted this morning.
[11:08:43] <+Tigerman> or not do analysisi
[11:09:08] <+Tigerman> ah so only CL?
[11:09:24] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...I only have CL futures
[11:10:04] <+Tigerman> brent futures quoted on ICE?
[11:10:16] <@wrbtrader> Yes
[11:11:07] <@wrbtrader> my Heating Oil (HO) futures just came back :)
[11:14:01] <+Tigerman> I just checked HO simimar to CL but seems not enought correlation
[11:14:31] <@wrbtrader> I don't want correlation :)
[11:14:38] <@wrbtrader> I just want Oil futures :)
[11:15:16] <+Tigerman> ah ok HO is oil for sure :)
[11:15:53] <+Tigerman> as for DX eurodollar future I noted is not traded 24h
[11:19:57] <+Tigerman> wrbtrader did you wake up early this morning ?
[11:20:24] <@wrbtrader> No...I missed the first part of the EuroFX 6E futures trading session :(
[11:20:53] <@wrbtrader> wanted to be up at 3am est but got up at 0630am est
[11:22:04] <+Tigerman> ah ok I assume chat is running those hours
[11:22:31] <+Tigerman> so tomorrow morning I can be here from 3 am
[11:27:27] <@wrbtrader> chat room has ALWAYS been 24hrs since 1999
[11:27:40] <ajax> gm all
[11:28:07] <@wrbtrader> Yet, I myself an not in here 24hrs unless I accidentally left my computer log-in like I did last night
[11:30:43] <+david_uk> I wonder whether the 1443 to 1446 level will not once again act as a turning point (see the arrows on the chart where indeed the ES did 'turn') ... secondly will the descending trendline not also have some effect as 'resistance'? Time will tell, in the meantime check out this 100,000 vol 'all sessions' chart showing the price action since 12th September: http://www.sierrachart.com/u
[11:30:43] <+david_uk> serimages/upload_2/1349278176627.png
[11:31:27] <+Tigerman> when you are not here usually you are not logged so the chat log is not available by you ?
[11:33:56] <@wrbtrader> correct...I only maintain the log when I'm here.
[11:34:23] <@wrbtrader> meant...if I'm log in...the chat log gets archived.
[11:35:00] <@wrbtrader> If I'm not log in but you're in here posting commentaries...there's no chat log of your commentaires uploaded to the forum.
[11:35:36] <@wrbtrader> Thus, the room is open 24hrs but the chat log is archiving on if my computer is logged in.
[11:37:00] <+Tigerman> OK Fuze meeting works similar so when you not log in no archive ?
[11:37:18] <@wrbtrader> No...its different.
[11:37:20] <+Tigerman> unless the poster send you the log of course
[11:37:36] <@wrbtrader> I'm not sure but I think it archives for 24hrs
[11:38:08] <@wrbtrader> Not archiving...meant its truly available for 24hrs even if I'm not in there.
[11:39:04] <@wrbtrader> Anyways, I need to find out more about the actual "recordings" and "text archives" involving FUZE.
[11:39:32] <@wrbtrader> Its the primary reason why I didn't move the chat room from IRC to a private twitter group.
[11:39:50] <@wrbtrader> Too difficult to maintain my own personal "text archives".
[11:40:05] <+Tigerman> yep and text is small
[11:40:17] <@wrbtrader> It can only be done manually coping each message...one by one :(
[11:40:24] <+Tigerman> think about the video when we share the desktop :)
[11:41:18] <+Tigerman> I assume you want archive only the text with fuze
[11:41:18] <@wrbtrader> I'm more concern with the text archives...not the video archives.
[11:41:50] <+Tigerman> yes video is too big to archive
[11:41:58] <@wrbtrader> Worst come to worst the "video realtime" can be done via many different other sites independent from FUZE
[11:42:14] <+Tigerman> but is a great things to see in real time
[11:42:37] <@wrbtrader> Video is the easy issue...text is the problem
[11:43:24] <+Tigerman> ah I thought the contrary :)
[11:43:29] <@wrbtrader> Text needs to be "auto saved"...not manually copied.
[11:43:43] <@wrbtrader> No...video was never the problem.
[11:43:49] <@wrbtrader> The problem is the text.
[11:44:35] <@wrbtrader> That's why I decided not to use the "twitter private groups"...
[11:44:39] <+Tigerman> at the end we can use fuze or whatever for video and still mirc for text just to be vintage :)
[11:45:03] <@wrbtrader> No text auto archives...just manual storage (copy and paste)
[11:45:28] <@wrbtrader> No...
[11:45:58] <@wrbtrader> Text and Video must be time sync everyone.
[11:46:19] <@wrbtrader> For example...
[11:46:30] <@wrbtrader> Pretend 4 people are in the room...
[11:47:13] <@wrbtrader> Two chatting via Video while the other 2 chating via text...two video folks MUST be able to see the text eventhough they aren't texting.
[11:48:04] <@wrbtrader> Long EuroFX 6E @ 840.10 -> large size
[11:48:07] <+Tigerman> oh yes sure
[11:48:37] <@wrbtrader> 6 contracts
[11:49:01] <@wrbtrader> This is the problematic time period of the Emini TF futures and other Emini futures
[11:49:48] <@wrbtrader> No key market events...low volatility tight trading ranges quickly show up to kill the follow through on the volatility spikes
[11:50:13] <@wrbtrader> Yet, the past 3 weeks we saw something not normal...
[11:50:38] <@wrbtrader> decent price movements during the typical dead zone (mid day trading session)
[11:51:02] <@wrbtrader> correction
[11:51:27] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 840.10 -> large size
[11:52:55] <@wrbtrader> price action really heats up tonight in the overnight session through Friday close
[11:53:22] <@wrbtrader> Simply, if you wanted to take the day off...
[11:53:30] <@wrbtrader> It was Monday and Tuesday :)
[11:55:48] <+Senn-> Long Emini TF @ 840.1 «« simulator »»
[11:59:23] <+Senn-> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 840.8 --> + 0.7 «« simulator »»
[12:01:21] <+david_uk> maybe 'strange' is more apt lol
[12:01:38] <+david_uk> sorry wrong window
[12:03:05] <@wrbtrader> strange is the still the same when it comes to the recen "mid day" trading session
[12:04:11] <@wrbtrader> Even one of the floor traders on the financial network saids he's been "hesitant" to go to lunch
[12:04:13] <@wrbtrader> :)
[12:08:14] <+Senn-> Long Emini TF @ 840.6 «« simulator »»
[12:08:14] <@wrbtrader> Creeper Up Movement still active...
[12:08:28] <@wrbtrader> I got all of my Oil charts up now
[12:08:47] <@wrbtrader> Unfornately Oil CL futures now in a low volatility tight trading range
[12:08:51] <@wrbtrader> :(
[12:09:10] <@wrbtrader> There's always tomorrow...no sweat
[12:10:43] <@wrbtrader> Emini futures volatility contraction
[12:10:48] <@wrbtrader> :(
[12:13:11] <@X> #TheStrategyLab -> Chat room for day traders, swing traders, position traders using concepts from WRB Analysis to help improve the performance of their trade signal strategies. WRB Analysis free study guide @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum ... =119&t=718
[12:15:02] <@wrbtrader> shallow WRB pt1 appeared in Emini TF futures
[12:15:06] <@wrbtrader> wasn't execting that
[12:15:42] <T4n_paper> Long TF @ 840.7 -> small size «« sim »»
[12:15:59] <+T4n_paper> i've missed many, i'm sure i'm late
[12:16:48] <@wrbtrader> Yep...me too
[12:16:55] <@wrbtrader> I arrived late too
[12:17:13] <@wrbtrader> then when I arrived...couldn't trade for awhile
[12:17:44] <@wrbtrader> Had to sit through and watch some nice volatility movements
[12:18:59] <@wrbtrader> The past 5 years...the longest I've gone without a "runner" is 3 trading days.
[12:19:23] <@wrbtrader> Today is day 3 of not having a "runner" in a trade.
[12:21:50] <+Tigerman> Long Light Crude Oil CL @ 89.15
[12:22:43] <+Senn-> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 840.7 --> + 0.1 «« simulator »»
[12:23:14] <+Tigerman> Exited all Light Crude Oil CL Long @ 89.19 --> + 0.04
[12:24:29] <@wrbtrader> tighten stop loss
[12:24:46] <@wrbtrader> I'm now expecting a volatility spike (Up or Down)
[12:24:57] <@wrbtrader> its been in low volatility contraction too long
[12:24:58] <+T4n_paper> Exited TF Long @ 840.8 --> + 0.1 «« sim »»
[12:30:14] <+Tigerman> oil futures creepy higher
[12:30:20] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 841.50 --> + 1.4
[12:30:43] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[12:30:51] <@wrbtrader> still no runner
[12:31:18] <+Tigerman> nice job wrbttrader usually I no have that patience to wait after a long contraction period
[12:32:08] <@wrbtrader> normally I don't hold a trade this long during the mid-day trading session.
[12:32:40] <@wrbtrader> Yet, I've noticed that "strange" mid-day price action the past few weeks involving some long during price movements on very low volatility
[12:33:20] <@wrbtrader> Without that info...I would have easily taken a quick 4 tick profit on this trade when it showed up instead of hanging around for more
[12:33:42] <@wrbtrader> Also, I'm usually not around at this time of day...
[12:33:53] <@wrbtrader> It use to be my key time out to go rest
[12:35:54] <+Tigerman> yes nowdays markets needs a costant adaptation
[12:51:26] <@wrbtrader> Reminder - Some traders keep their #TheStrategyLab chat window "minimized" or "not in view" while logged in.
[12:51:33] <@wrbtrader> I myself do this OFTEN.
[12:51:59] <@wrbtrader> Thus, if you post a message or question in here...I and others OFTEN will not see it.
[12:52:42] <@wrbtrader> The only time (like now) when I actually chat directly in here is because someone sent me a "private message" or I get a beep sound on a key word being posted in here.
[12:53:17] <@wrbtrader> Simply, I post my messages in another "chat window" and they are auto sent here in #TheStrategyLab chat room.
[12:53:48] <@wrbtrader> I even sometimes send direct messages in here via a special twitter script.
[12:54:22] <@wrbtrader> only difference is that there's about a 5 second delay
[12:54:58] <@wrbtrader> Just a heads up if someone writes something and begins to wonder why their question isn't being answered
[12:55:12] <@wrbtrader> Best to just send a private message via double clicking on the user name.
[13:28:27] <+T4n_paper> Shorts TF @ 840.3 -> small size «« sim »»
[13:32:35] <+T4n_paper> Covered TF Short @ 839.6 --> + 0.7 «« sim »»
[13:32:54] <@wrbtrader> Light Crude Oil CL futures still in a Creeper Down Movement
[13:36:04] <@wrbtrader> EuroFX 6E only coughing up 1 - 2 tick WRB pt1 levels since 1215pm est
[13:36:33] <@wrbtrader> that's a low volatility tight trading range
[13:38:43] <+T4n_paper> whoa
[13:38:46] <+T4n_paper> big move
[13:39:10] <+T4n_paper> should have held, lol
[13:40:11] <+T4n_paper> Shorts TF @ 836.9 -> small size «« sim »»

[15:52:27] <+Tigerman> I no understand this price action so better stay aside
[15:52:55] <+Tigerman> anything I look have a lot of contraction
[15:52:55] <@wrbtrader> Remember my big warning all throughout last month of September...
[15:53:13] <@wrbtrader> October WILL be a very tough trading month
[15:53:31] <+Tigerman> yes I remember
[15:54:00] <+Tigerman> so when we survive to this we ll be king tradr x sure :)
[15:54:24] <@wrbtrader> I wish it worked like that :)
[15:54:35] <+Tigerman> at this point I wonder where is the pre election volatility ??
[15:55:06] <@wrbtrader> Some market participants say the "pre-election volatility" started today
[15:55:53] <@wrbtrader> I know I missed a lot of good trade opportunities earlier this morning but I didn't think it was "increasing volatility".
[15:56:14] <@wrbtrader> We'll know for sure by end of week depending upon what Thursday and Friday is like with their volatility
[15:56:24] <+Tigerman> yep markets move sometimes from nowhere
[15:56:54] <@wrbtrader> Exited Emini TF Long @ 836.00 --> + 0.5

[16:00:36] <@wrbtrader> We got another one of the "no volatility regular session close" in the books.
[16:00:36] <+Tigerman> seems they tell me to stay away from that :)
[16:01:05] <@wrbtrader> Up 62% this year in these types of closes
[16:01:18] <+T4n_paper> Shorts TF @ 835.5 -> small size «« sim »»
[16:01:22] <@wrbtrader> from the prior years
[16:01:52] <+david_uk> gn all ... till Friday
[16:03:10] <+Tigerman> volaility is gone
[16:03:28] <@wrbtrader> solve that puzzle and we'll know what days to call it quits early and what days to stay around for the last 30 minutes of the trading session.
[16:03:56] <+Tigerman> I wonder what have major responsability on this
[16:04:17] <+Tigerman> if hft trading or people pull out money from markets
[16:04:23] <+Tigerman> maybe both
[16:04:41] <+T4n_paper> Covered TF Short @ 835.7 --> - 0.2 «« sim »»
[16:04:50] <@wrbtrader> Well...theres billions of dollars missing from the market by investors pulling out
[16:05:20] <@wrbtrader> Earlier this year there was a "record breaking" amount of money taken out of the markets...
[16:05:26] <@wrbtrader> Money still on the sidelines
[16:05:31] <+Tigerman> yep so if this is the major reason
[16:05:48] <+T4n_paper> oh ,jeez
[16:05:51] <+T4n_paper> i'm out
[16:05:55] <+Tigerman> seems right trade oil or euro
[16:06:08] <+Tigerman> or somethingelse
[16:06:35] <+Tigerman> where typical investor count less
[16:06:59] <+Tigerman> because currency and energy is needed more vs stocks
[16:07:08] <+Tigerman> what you think wrbtrader?
[16:07:26] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 835.00 --> - 1
[16:07:49] <@wrbtrader> 2+2+2
[16:07:50] <+Tigerman> anyway it is always better go where it moves
[16:07:58] <@wrbtrader> Oil CL futures and Gold GC futures are the typical trading instruments for futures traders to move to when investors pull out of the markets
[16:08:16] <@wrbtrader> said that wrong...
[16:08:31] <@wrbtrader> Its the typical movement of veteran traders...not the average trader.
[16:09:04] <+Tigerman> ok this is a good tip
[16:09:06] <@wrbtrader> Average trader will "stay" (married) to what ever trading instrument that's giving them a headache.
[16:09:19] <+Tigerman> better always the wise man
[16:09:21] <@wrbtrader> They will not try another trading instrument
[16:09:42] <@wrbtrader> Just like the captain going down with a sinking ship
[16:10:03] <+Tigerman> yep to lazy people
[16:10:36] <+Tigerman> simply doesn t realize what worked yesterday can not work today
[16:10:56] <+Tigerman> but can work again in future
[16:10:59] <@wrbtrader> Hopefully by end of month I'm fully transition from the Emini TF INTO EuroFX 6E futures, Light Crude Oil CL futures and Gold GC futures
[16:11:17] <+Tigerman> till that moment better move
[16:11:30] <@wrbtrader> I plan to add Oil CL futures by next week and Gold GC futures by end of month.
[16:11:43] <+Tigerman> great wrbtrader
[16:11:49] <@wrbtrader> All three will be difficult to switch too because of October's behavior
[16:12:24] <+Tigerman> only difficult switch instruments on chat :)
[16:12:36] <+Tigerman> or is something I do not know ?
[16:12:52] <+Tigerman> as script I mean
[16:13:59] <+Tigerman> also great time zone in early morning for me for oil and euro fx
[16:15:23] <+Tigerman> I was distracted but I have seen a nice move for a couple of ticks in euro fx some minutes ago
[16:16:07] <+Tigerman> a creeper from the wrb at 4pm
[16:17:07] <@wrbtrader> Euro is usually finish with its volatility by 12noon est
[16:17:37] <@wrbtrader> after that...not worth trading unless there's a key market event after 12noon est (e.g. FOMC announcement)
[16:18:25] <@wrbtrader> That's why if you trade the Euro...you really don't want to miss the 3am - 1030am est trading session...
[16:18:38] <@wrbtrader> That's its most active trading period
[16:18:55] <@wrbtrader> Today I missed several hours of that active period...payed the price too :(
[16:18:57] <+Tigerman> yep any instrument his period
[16:34:35] <+Tigerman> take care see all tomorrow
[16:35:32] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 836.00 -> large size
[16:35:44] <@wrbtrader> 4+2
[16:35:49] <@wrbtrader> be back later
[16:39:36] <@wrbtrader> Overnight hold...pre-election start.
[16:40:12] <+canaandog> good luck
[16:40:21] <@wrbtrader> I'll be doing more swing trades by the time the U.S. elections is completely finish
[16:41:25] <@wrbtrader> talk to all tomorrow or earlier when this trade completes or is stopped out early before tomorrow.
[16:41:33] <@wrbtrader> If stopped out...will re-enter
[16:41:57] * wrbtrader is now known as wrbtrader_away
[16:58:12] <@X> #TheStrategyLab -> Chat room for day traders, swing traders, position traders using concepts from WRB Analysis to help improve the performance of their trade signal strategies. WRB Analysis free study guide @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum ... =119&t=718
Session Closed: Weds Oct 03 16:59:23 2012

-------------------------

#TheStrategyLab is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader (position trading, swing trading, day trading) can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience

The purpose of #TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #TheStrategyLab.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #TheStrategyLab is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: chat logs saved (timestamp) from Québec, Canada in eastern daylight time
