#TheStrategyLab (formerly known as #FuturesTrades) is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis and any trader can use the chat room to post their real-time trades, real-time price action analysis or market commentaries involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades, price action analysis or market commentaries in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#TheStrategyLab is primarily designed to be only a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day and this gives them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners and experience) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading...improving their position size management and trade management after entry.

Also, if you want #TheStrategyLab chat room to be educational for you...please ask questions instead of lurking (not participating in conversations).

Quote:
Traders that use #TheStrategyLab are not required to post trades but if you do post trades...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding the price action you're trading. To log into #TheStrategyLab chat room...please follow the instructions here at the FTCHAT Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 or for registered members of the chat room at the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

Note: Registration is not allowed here at the FTCHAT Forum...it is allowed at the TSL Forum (link above) that provides support for the #TheStrategyLab chat room.

[09:31:54] <+leoconteisni> are u trading it real or simulating?
[09:32:07] <@wrbtrader> Good morning all
[09:32:30] <@wrbtrader> Leocon...you should use the person name in your message because some folks in here really aren't here.
[09:32:38] <@wrbtrader> Thus, they don't see your questions.
[09:32:47] <+leoconteisni> ah
[09:32:48] <+leoconteisni> ok
[09:32:50] <+leoconteisni> sorry
[09:33:09] <@wrbtrader> What I mean is that some are sending their trades in here from "another location".
[09:33:24] <@wrbtrader> I myself do it too sometimes
[09:33:54] <+leoconteisni> is it kind of a script?
[09:34:00] <@wrbtrader> Yes.
[09:34:20] <+leoconteisni> nice
[09:34:24] <@wrbtrader> For example, I can send messages in here from my twitter account.
[09:34:49] <+leoconteisni> i used to use mirc a lot
[09:34:53] <+leoconteisni> but long time ago
[09:35:13] <@wrbtrader> Emini YM in a Creeper Up Movement
[09:36:13] <@wrbtrader> another strange opening with key markets not insync...kind'uv getting old
[09:37:52] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 845.00 -> medium size
[09:37:57] <@wrbtrader> 4 contracts
[09:38:05] <+leoconteisni> it set a buy in ES about 1435.50 but didnt got it =/
[09:38:26] <canaandog> old = very
[09:40:52] <@X> #TheStrategyLab -> Chat room for traders using concepts from WRB Analysis to understand "market context" and to help improve the performance of your trade signal strategies. WRB Analysis free study guide @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum ... =119&t=718
[09:42:02] <@wrbtrader> Key Market Events @ 1000am and 1030am est
[09:44:12] <@wrbtrader> :(
[09:44:23] <@wrbtrader> tough again
[09:49:59] <@wrbtrader> Other Eminis now getting insync
[09:51:37] <@wrbtrader> lowest volatility and volume open of the week so far
[09:53:15] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 844.00 --> - 1
[09:54:01] <@wrbtrader> This is not a hyped news event coming around the corner.
[09:54:18] <@wrbtrader> Thus, I expect the low volatility tight trading range to continue
[09:54:46] <@wrbtrader> S area of most recent WRB Hidden GAP being tested
[10:01:12] <@wrbtrader> We're still stuck inside the RANGE of the prior trading day.
[10:01:21] <@wrbtrader> That's several consecutive trading days of such.
[10:01:30] <@wrbtrader> maybe the first time all year like this
[10:01:55] <+Tigerman> infact sever days my trading is not good :(
[10:02:24] <+Tigerman> Vxx is at lowest value in 5 years !!
[10:02:37] <@wrbtrader> Yep
[10:02:54] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 842.90 -> large size
[10:03:01] <@wrbtrader> 4+2
[10:03:03] <+Tigerman> usually volatility should rise after that low value
[10:03:28] <@wrbtrader> If you're new to trading...this is the type of price action you WANT to learn how to trade within.
[10:03:36] <@wrbtrader> It doesn't get any worst than this.
[10:04:05] <@wrbtrader> If you can manage this type of market conditions...you'll make a killing whenever the VIX is rising or high.
[10:05:28] <@wrbtrader> Covered 2/3 Emini TF Short @ 842.00 --> + 0.9
[10:05:41] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[10:06:20] <@wrbtrader> I've cut my profit goals by 50% for this trading week...
[10:06:37] <@wrbtrader> The volatility is just too low for the Emini futures
[10:07:46] <@wrbtrader> Other option is to switch to another trading instrument (e.g. Oil CL futures, EuroFX 6E futures) to trade during low volatility conditions in the general market
[10:07:57] <@wrbtrader> That's what I've always done in the past
[10:08:12] <@wrbtrader> will do it again if this low volatilty level continues
[10:08:51] <@wrbtrader> never get married to your trading instrumet :)
[10:09:45] <@wrbtrader> Covered Remainder Emini TF Short @ 842.80 --> + 0.1
[10:13:22] <+leoconteisni> shorted ES 1 contract 1437.75
[10:16:00] <@wrbtrader> Inside the range of that WRB Hidden GAP @ 0952am - 0954am est
[10:20:16] <@wrbtrader> Today I started getting those email reminders from my brokers about "rollover and delivery" of trading instruments
[10:20:57] <@wrbtrader> I notice they don't send out emails to tell folks that volatility is at record lows and you should take LESS trades
[10:20:59] <@wrbtrader> :)
[10:21:30] <+leoconteisni> lol
[10:23:21] <@wrbtrader> Look at Emini YM in comparison to NQ or TF...
[10:23:42] <@wrbtrader> That's NORMAL (not insync) for "low volatility market conditions"
[10:24:25] <@wrbtrader> Add that to the record number of money that's been pulled OUT of the markets this year by investors...
[10:24:38] <@wrbtrader> Its tough
[10:26:21] <+leoconteisni> its really a low volume this week
[10:26:32] <+leoconteisni> maybe waiting to tomorrow datas?
[10:29:22] <@wrbtrader> I don't think tomorrow's economic data is going to save the volatility this week.
[10:30:11] <@wrbtrader> By the way, someone once said in here the volatility is normally low the 2 weeks of September when many kids and college students go back to school.
[10:30:34] <@wrbtrader> I've never research that to verify if that's a real "market tendency"
[10:30:42] <+leoconteisni> lol
[10:30:45] <@wrbtrader> If its true...it can then be exploited.
[10:31:03] <+leoconteisni> but maybe theres something
[10:31:26] <@wrbtrader> Simply, if you're single (dont have kids in school)...good time to go on a vacation :)
[10:32:13] <@wrbtrader> seriously, that info can be used to tell you when to trade a different trading instrument that's not impacted by volatility as much in comparison to whatever it is you're trading
[10:32:32] <@wrbtrader> For those first two weeks of September
[10:34:23] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 840.00 -> small size
[10:34:29] <@wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[10:34:35] <@wrbtrader> Creeper Down Movement still active
[10:35:04] <@wrbtrader> Hammer lines just showed up AFTER my entry :(
[10:35:59] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 840.50 --> - 0.5
[10:38:11] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 840.20 -> small size
[10:38:16] <@wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[10:38:19] <@wrbtrader> re-entry
[10:41:20] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[10:41:39] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 839.10 --> + 1.1
[10:43:31] <+leoconteisni> covered ES 1 contract 1434.00
[10:43:42] <+leoconteisni> +3.75
[10:44:09] <@wrbtrader> nice
[10:44:35] <+leoconteisni> just one contract
[10:45:17] <@wrbtrader> The issue if did you follow your trading plan...if so...its always good.
[10:45:48] <@wrbtrader> Therefore, if you're suppose to trade via 1 contract...
[10:45:51] <@wrbtrader> You did good
[10:46:50] <@wrbtrader> That's the only way to develop good trading habits...documenting your ability to follow your trading plan.
[10:47:26] <+leoconteisni> yeah
[10:47:37] <+leoconteisni> i never traded this market before
[10:47:40] <+leoconteisni> still learning
[10:47:53] <+Fleneer> watsa trading plan :o)
[10:47:59] <+Tigerman> yes ability to follow plan is important the problem arise when following the plan you loss money
[10:48:14] <+leoconteisni> lol
[10:48:42] <@wrbtrader> The REAL problem is making money while NOT following your trading plan.
[10:49:10] <+Tigerman> x my experience many times I get better result when not follow the plan :)
[10:49:12] <@wrbtrader> I've never seen a trader survive such too long because it develops bad trading habits
[10:49:15] <+Fleneer> 2 cents.... every market every day is different. you musst be flexible. Trading is so very much like poker. you gotta know ehn to hold em...
[10:49:46] <@wrbtrader> Losses occurs...
[10:49:54] <+Tigerman> of corse I mean to be flexible depends of market contsest
[10:50:07] <@wrbtrader> Therefore, when losing...make sure your losses occurs via the right reasons...not the wrong reasons
[10:50:16] <+Tigerman> one have to know the plan and follow
[10:50:26] <+Fleneer> Or I often refer to trading as a high risk price action, because I truly believe many days to be that way. Take a position and set your brackets and let come what may...
[10:50:47] <+Fleneer> roll dem bones...
[10:50:56] <+Tigerman> but to be able to modify the stop loss and target level makes difference
[10:51:20] <+Fleneer> and NEVER forget the house has the edgte. You're a looser the minute you step up to the table.
[10:51:40] <+Fleneer> If you see green grab it!
[10:51:50] <+Tigerman> today for exmple I am too busy to click in my dome and not reported my trades here
[10:51:51] <@wrbtrader> :)
[10:52:10] <+Tigerman> in reality I ve done a lot :)
[10:52:42] <+Tigerman> I recuped all my loss doing trdes based on my experience
[10:53:01] <@wrbtrader> One month several years ago I monitor how much I was clicking...
[10:53:12] <+Tigerman> if have sticked on plan exactly I still have losses
[10:53:25] <@wrbtrader> There's a direct relationship between number of clicks and my profit/loss statement
[10:53:27] <@wrbtrader> :)
[10:53:27] <+Fleneer> Well, to draw from the flying business. You gotta set of priorities. Foremost is fly the airplane (make your trades) then when that task allows navigate (check your trading plan and make adjustments) third ois to communicate!
[10:53:37] <@wrbtrader> Thus, I don't want to be clicking too much :)
[10:53:55] <+Tigerman> THAT kind of experience in very difficult to write out
[10:54:53] <+Tigerman> one have to understand what happen right now
[10:55:25] <+Tigerman> look how market moves
[10:56:05] <@wrbtrader> Almost a 8 point range today so far in the Emini TF
[10:56:09] <+Tigerman> to be fast to decide if is better a big stop or small stop
[10:56:31] <@wrbtrader> that's actually better than expected for this type of "low volatility" conditions
[10:56:39] <+Tigerman> this valid for the last minutes
[10:56:53] <+Tigerman> in 1 hour later things change

[16:08:02] <@wrbtrader> By the way, we're still stuck inside the establish range.
[16:20:40] <@wrbtrader> I hope the VIX doesn't go back to the extreme low volatility we had in 2004, 2005 and 2006...tough trading years.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #TheStrategyLab.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #TheStrategyLab is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: chat logs saved (timestamp) from Québec, Canada in eastern daylight time
