#TheStrategyLab (formerly known as #FuturesTrades) is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis and any trader can use the chat room to post their real-time trades, real-time price action analysis or market commentaries involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades, price action analysis or market commentaries in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#TheStrategyLab is primarily designed to be only a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day and this gives them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners and experience) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading...improving their position size management and trade management after entry.

Also, if you want #TheStrategyLab chat room to be educational for you...please ask questions instead of lurking (not participating in conversations).

Quote:
Traders that use #TheStrategyLab are not required to post trades but if you do post trades...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding the price action you're trading. To log into #TheStrategyLab chat room...please follow the instructions here at the FTCHAT Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 or for registered members of the chat room at the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

Note: Registration is not allowed here at the FTCHAT Forum...it is allowed at the TSL Forum (link above) that provides support for the #TheStrategyLab chat room.

[09:47:45] <@wrbtrader> Fast rollover from Creeper Down Movement into a Creeper Up Movement equals a "VERY EXCITED" market
[09:49:01] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 814.50 --> + 1.4
[09:49:17] <@wrbtrader> a churn between the two trades :(
[09:51:02] <canaandog> "very excited" as in "enthusiastic", or as in "running around wildly"?
[09:51:36] <+canaandog> or, "later action tells", I suppose
[09:54:42] <Fleneer> good morning
[09:54:48] <+Fleneer> late start today
[09:59:35] <@wrbtrader> running around wild or bar fight (hit anyone that get nears you)

[10:08:45] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 813.50 --> + 0.6
[10:09:09] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[10:09:47] <@wrbtrader> another churn in the last two trades :(
[10:10:35] <@wrbtrader> nervous traders/price action today
[10:29:31] <@wrbtrader> range getting tighter on lower volatility
[10:30:33] <@wrbtrader> I determine the volatility is decreasing via the fact it takes longer to produce a WRB Hidden GAP or there aren't anymore WRB Hidden GAPs being produced or there are more volatility contractions intervals
[10:51:39] <+Tigerman> Shorts iShares IWM @ 81.2
[10:53:02] <+Tigerman> Covered all iShares IWM Short @ 81.09 --> + 0.11

[11:05:54] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 811.60 -> small size

[11:06:11] <@wrbtrader> volatility increasing
[11:06:31] <@wrbtrader> not sure if the speed can keep up because this is a range bound price action
[11:07:49] <@wrbtrader> Emini YM futures not insync with the other Emini futures
[11:08:19] <+Tigerman> yep seems is became the new NQ
[11:08:20] <+canaandog> noticed that
[11:08:39] <+Tigerman> in contrast Nq seems more correlated recently
[11:09:16] <@wrbtrader> Hopefully when they ALL decide to get insync with each other...it'll produce a strong price action (Up or Down)....
[11:09:29] <@wrbtrader> increasing chance of follow through to a profit target
[11:13:45] <+SailorTra> I'm bearish right now, but more profit potetial to upside for good R:R.
[11:14:20] <+SailorTra> WRB, Where do I go on chat for creeper up movement explanation? I was reading your emails last night/vrt forum
[11:15:04] <@wrbtrader> First, you don't ask those questions in here.
[11:15:10] <@wrbtrader> You can pm me :)
[11:15:22] <@wrbtrader> This is the free room...no details are given
[11:16:00] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 810.20 --> - 1.4
[11:22:43] <+SailorTra> I'm still bearish but looking to get in long.
[11:23:04] <@wrbtrader> back at the lower area of the range
[11:23:21] <@wrbtrader> Emini futures still trying hard to get insync with each other.
[11:23:24] <+SailorTra> tigh stop but 1406.5 long.
[11:24:30] <+SailorTra> needs to break this little down TL on 5min and I'll be much happier with this trade. So far it's just a small 2x bottom
[11:28:12] <@wrbtrader> volatility drying up again
[11:28:36] <@wrbtrader> looks like the market is content to stay like this until the 2pm est key market event (a big event)
[11:28:52] <@wrbtrader> Big only because its been hyped the past few trading days.
[11:29:39] <+SailorTra> It's at the do or die area ;)
[11:32:33] <+Tigerman> wrbtrader and all do you know how market maker and flow order works?
[11:33:00] <@wrbtrader> in stocks...NO
[11:33:05] <+Tigerman> I mean whos put order at different levels sometimes very far by actual price
[11:33:23] <+SailorTra> this small down TL on 5min still holding.
[11:34:24] <+Tigerman> because when someone needs move a larger order is going to pay higher price if no liquidity
[11:34:41] <@wrbtrader> There are NO market makers in futures but there are big playeres in futures.
[11:35:05] <+Tigerman> so my question who put the order ther ?
[11:35:11] <@wrbtrader> The term "market makers" is associated with stocks
[11:35:35] <@wrbtrader> they are specifically ID
[11:35:42] <@wrbtrader> by the exchange
[11:35:45] <+Tigerman> so wrbtrader do you mean big player put some liquidity ready to be served ?
[11:36:20] <@wrbtrader> You talking about futures ?
[11:36:49] <+Tigerman> yes in this case consider you know more about it
[11:37:57] <+Tigerman> I mean seems anytime you want a fill is always someone ready to fill you ,if large order of course with big spreads
[11:37:59] <+SailorTra> tigerman watch the time and sales. You'll see the orders popping and the size of the orders. You'll see when big players step in
[11:39:39] <+Tigerman> no sailor I mean who sell you when you wanna buy a large order
[11:40:20] <+SailorTra> it's all electronic matched. No floor traders on the eminis
[11:40:25] <+Tigerman> in etf is clear visible because large order are filled with big spread I think same is in future
[11:41:08] <+Tigerman> ok but now ES is at 1406 pt
[11:41:25] <+Tigerman> assume I want buy 1 milion contracts
[11:41:31] <+SailorTra> if it's a limit order on lets say a 100lot it will be slowly filled (and maybe only part will get filled), but a 100lot order will be instantly filled if it's a market order
[11:42:23] <@wrbtrader> As a retail trader...you will NEVER know whom are the big players in futures.
[11:42:41] <+Tigerman> yep but a market order of 1 milionpz maybe is filled at 1500 :)
[11:42:42] <+SailorTra> no way u could buy 1million contracts lol. That would be 140 billion dollars
[11:42:50] <+SailorTra> I think that's the math lol. /)
[11:42:54] <+SailorTra> ;)
[11:42:58] <+Tigerman> yep :)
[11:42:59] <+SailorTra> ok breaking up
[11:43:08] <+Tigerman> but just x example is ok
[11:43:16] <@wrbtrader> By the time you hear about someone making a big move in futures...it will be long after the fact as in days, weeks or months.
[11:43:17] <+SailorTra> uless you are the governement PPT lol
[11:43:37] <+SailorTra> ok breaking my tl. ratcheting stop in.
[11:44:06] <@wrbtrader> Heck, there are even retail traders with multi-million dollar accounts spread across several brokers...
[11:44:16] <@wrbtrader> Taking positions in futures.
[11:44:58] <@wrbtrader> They spread out their accounts due understanding how brokers act with such large accounts from a retailer.
[11:45:04] <+Tigerman> but the question stay there who sell to you?
[11:45:16] <+Tigerman> take TF x example
[11:45:16] <+SailorTra> yep very true wrb. big floor traders used to control 1bil worth of sp on trades. But 1million contracts is unheard of lol
[11:45:51] <@wrbtrader> Tigerman...anyone with a trading account is selling to you.
[11:46:09] <@wrbtrader> small fry or big fish in the pond
[11:46:45] <+Tigerman> yes but of course when a sell is far the best ask I wonder who sell to me
[11:47:10] <+Tigerman> who put the resting order?
[11:47:13] <@wrbtrader> These are not stocks nor etfs where you know how much shares "could be" out there FLOATING in the market.
[11:47:48] <@wrbtrader> resting order ?
[11:47:59] <+Tigerman> yes infact the seller can be a short seller
[11:48:04] <+SailorTra> ok breaking up... 8.50 min targt
[11:48:14] <@wrbtrader> Futures brokers match orders electronically
[11:48:24] <+SailorTra> stop to below this little tl on 5min
[11:49:16] <+Tigerman> x resting order I mean if some order are put far the best ask and wait there maybe fron days ago
[11:49:49] <+Tigerman> or simply a price far the best ask is a sell short order
[11:50:55] <+Tigerman> I mean if I want buy 500pz of TF right now (not have the issue x now :)
[11:51:32] <+Tigerman> market order
[11:51:47] <+Tigerman> a fill x only 50-100 lots
[11:52:05] <+SailorTra> tigerman if you place market order you will get filled pretty much instantly. But, if you want a exact price (limit order) you will have to wait for the makret to get to that price and then it gets filled in the order of who placed theirs first (like waiting in a line)
[11:52:46] <+Tigerman> or a fill for the other 400pz at bad price
[11:53:17] <+Tigerman> TF right now few order at 810
[11:53:40] <+Tigerman> but the big load maybe filled at 815 x example
[11:53:59] <+SailorTra> yes you wil have slippage on a large market order (price may jump around a little).
[11:54:12] <+Tigerman> so the original question who put the order at 815??
[11:54:38] <Brian> who's on first? :)
[11:55:01] <+Tigerman> a seller wait for that level from this morning ?
[11:55:05] <+SailorTra> If it's a big order usually it's a big trader. If it's a small order usually it's a small trader. Unless the large trader is trying to break up the order.
[11:55:15] <+SailorTra> yes sometimes tigeman
[11:55:56] <+Tigerman> so I wonder who are the guys in future or ETF ready to serve this large order?
[11:56:10] <+SailorTra> lets say yesterday when I said the market was hitting may highs on the Dow. Lots of big traders saw this and might have had orders long before it hit there. Either to take profit, as a stop, or trying to top pick with tight entrance.
[11:56:24] <+Tigerman> I see this clearly in etf when large order are filled they got BIG slippage
[11:56:28] <+SailorTra> tigerman-banks, hedge funds, PPT etc.
[11:56:50] <+SailorTra> or someone with some big balls and big personal account lol.
[11:57:22] <+Tigerman> the last I do not think so :)
[11:57:45] <+SailorTra> you can also use futures to lock out your profit etc on stocks (hedge). Lets say a tragic event like 9/11 happens../
[11:57:45] <+Tigerman> seems more big losing time
[11:58:21] <+SailorTra> A hedge fund may have 100's of differetnt stocks etc and all different positions
[11:58:22] <+Tigerman> also are there book with this order ??
[11:58:54] <+Tigerman> usually seems more deep than 5 levels not are shown to retailers
[11:59:07] <+SailorTra> to get out of them all would be near impossible. So what they do is figure out what they are worth in terms of the SP and they can immediately get futures to basically make their accounts all neutral.
[11:59:28] <+SailorTra> It's one of the original reasons futures contracts were made.
[12:00:20] <+SailorTra> come on and hit my limit lol...
[12:01:24] <+SailorTra> waiting waiting waiting (in line tigerman as we speak)...ok filled 08.25. Will try to get back in with a better position maybe. 1.75ptES
[12:02:48] <+Tigerman> all my talk is because I think many smart algoritm working on HF can get some advantage with this
[12:03:53] <+SailorTra> tigerman research HFT trading. You'll see how good they are doing in this sort of thing... Scary
[12:04:38] <+Tigerman> and when they see large order in buy can sell your last contracts as sell short and buy later at lower market price with no need to hurry up
[12:05:10] <+Tigerman> yep HF is interesting is mandatary have servers near the exchange
[12:05:24] <+Tigerman> all is done is less then 100ms
[12:05:42] <+Tigerman> I remember well the crash of 6 may :)
[12:06:07] <+Tigerman> Long iShares IWM @ 81.16
[12:06:20] <+Tigerman> my hf trade :)
[12:07:19] <+SailorTra> yep they are printing money right now doing it.But sooner or later it will change. I knew a trader who made MILLIONS trading the nas level 2 in late 90's. It was like printing money he said.But that easy money dried up by 2001 and he gave back most of his profits and had to quit the game because he had no edge left.
[12:07:23] <+Tigerman> Exited all iShares IWM Long @ 81.16 --> 0
[12:07:28] <+Tigerman> no move
[12:09:34] <+SailorTra> who uses Pandora for trading music? I used to listen to calming music etc, but I realise I do better with old school hip hop (lmao). I never listened to that sort of music growing up but the rhythm really seems to help me personally trading.
[12:10:52] <+Tigerman> I no listen music while trading but I have to strat :)
[12:10:59] <+Tigerman> start
[12:11:32] <+SailorTra> keeps me alert, I even use it sometimes when I ride my sportsbike lol. I guess I must look funny when I'm bobbing my head while leaning into turns :)
[12:20:30] <+Tigerman> be back later for fomc news
[12:20:59] <+Tigerman> Shorts iShares IWM @ 80.90
[12:21:42] <+Tigerman> Covered all iShares IWM Short @ 90.90 --> - 10
[12:21:53] <+Tigerman> oops
[12:22:01] <+Tigerman> Covered all iShares IWM Short @ 80.90 --> 0

[14:03:45] <@wrbtrader> getting a little choppy
[14:04:16] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 812.90 --> + 2.2
[14:04:35] <@wrbtrader> Usually the FOMC minutes does not have this much volatility
[14:05:12] <@wrbtrader> Yet, as stated earlier today...whenever a key market event is hyped...the volatility will be UNUSUALLY HIGH
[14:05:52] <@wrbtrader> I saw it hyped on bloomberg, CNBC, Canada business networks
[14:06:24] <@wrbtrader> a little volatility contraction now showing up
[14:10:17] <@wrbtrader> R area of the WRB Hidden GAP @ 1400pm - 1402pm est being tested

[14:47:54] <+Tigerman> Long iShares IWM @ 81.34
[14:48:02] <+Tigerman> Exited all iShares IWM Long @ 81.37 --> + 0.03

-------------------------

#TheStrategyLab is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience

The purpose of #TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #TheStrategyLab.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #TheStrategyLab is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: chat logs saved (timestamp) from Québec, Canada in eastern daylight time
