#TheStrategyLab (formerly known as #FuturesTrades) is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis and any trader can use the chat room to post their real-time trades, real-time price action analysis or market commentaries involving stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades, price action analysis or market commentaries in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#TheStrategyLab is primarily designed to be only a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day and this gives them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day. In addition, we welcome all traders (beginners and experience) that are merging WRB Analysis with their trade methods or using WRB Analysis to develop a better understanding of the price action (market context) they're trading...improving their position size management and trade management after entry.

Also, if you want #TheStrategyLab chat room to be educational for you...please ask questions instead of lurking (not participating in conversations).

Quote:
Traders that use #TheStrategyLab are not required to post trades but if you do post trades...the trades must be clear (not ambiguous) entry price/exit price and position size. Traders that consistently post ambiguous trades will be KICKED (removed) from the chat room.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades, price action analysis or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful market context information that's critical to understanding the price action you're trading. To log into #TheStrategyLab chat room...please follow the instructions here at the FTCHAT Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5 or for registered members of the chat room at the TSL Support Forum @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum/viewforum.php?f=164

[08:59:43] <@wrbtrader> Good morning all
[09:03:33] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt2 reached on the swing trade from yesterday
[09:04:08] <@wrbtrader> exit stop raised Emini TF @ 817.00
[09:10:28] <@wrbtrader> exit stop raised Emini TF @ 817.60
[09:11:03] <@wrbtrader> profitable trail stop raised to the "most recent WRB Hidden GAP S area"
[09:11:25] <@wrbtrader> WRB Hidden GAP @ 0838am - 0840am est
[09:12:49] <@wrbtrader> If price moves higher...next HARD stop adjustment will be the R area (818.30) of the same WRB Hidden GAP
[09:13:33] <@wrbtrader> currently I'm using that R area of 818.30 as a MENTAL Stop even though the HARD stop @ 817.60
[09:14:18] <@wrbtrader> That mental stop is being used to tell me something may be "wrong with the price action" and that I need to watch it closely for an "early exit" before the WRB target is reached
[09:14:38] <@wrbtrader> Thus, I usually use two types of stops per trade...
[09:14:48] <@wrbtrader> A hard stop and a mental stop in the same trade.
[09:14:50] <+Trendtrader> gm all
[09:15:21] <@wrbtrader> By the way, I don't have time to discuss stops for "day trades"...only swing trades and position trades like this.
[09:15:58] <@wrbtrader> That's why I normally don't discuss stops (locations and reasons) because I don't have the time while day trading.
[09:29:36] <+Trendtrader> Long Emini TF @ 818.4
[09:29:39] <+Trendtrader> x10
[09:31:00] <+Trendtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 818.4 --> 0
[09:33:03] <@wrbtrader> exit stop raised Emini TF @ 818.30
[09:34:11] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 819.30 --> + 4.2
[09:34:56] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 819.50 -> medium size
[09:35:07] <@wrbtrader> 3+1
[09:35:39] <@wrbtrader> that wasn't suppose to happen :(
[09:35:51] <@wrbtrader> looking for a Houdini Escape
[09:36:56] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 819.90 --> + 0.4
[09:37:58] <@wrbtrader> re-entry was a trade error...thought I had it set for 819.10
[09:38:23] <Tigerman> gm all
[09:39:14] <@wrbtrader> Creeper Up Movement all session chart
[09:55:21] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 819.30 -> small size
[09:55:28] <@wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[09:56:01] <@wrbtrader> Creeper Up Movement still active
[09:56:11] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[09:56:15] <@wrbtrader> increasing volatility
[09:56:19] <+Tigerman> Long iShares IWM @ 81.93
[09:56:42] <+Tigerman> Exited 1/2 iShares IWM Long @ 81.95 --> + 0.02
[09:56:51] <+Tigerman> Exited Remainder iShares IWM Long @ 81.98 --> + 0.05
[09:57:49] <+Tigerman> distraction here I close early
[09:58:18] <+Tigerman> a nice target was reached now at 82.08
[09:59:28] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 821.30 --> + 2
[10:00:14] <+Tigerman> good wrbtrader hang on longer than me on that
[10:01:30] <@wrbtrader> That earlier big profitable trade on the swing trade exit had given me a lot of room with my "patience".
[10:02:12] <@wrbtrader> very easy to be "patient" in a follow up trade after a big profitable trade
[10:02:47] <@wrbtrader> Its one of those "psychological" things involving trading that doesn't get discussed oftern enough
[10:03:12] <@X> #TheStrategyLab -> Chat room for traders using concepts from WRB Analysis to understand "market context" and to help improve the performance of your trade signal strategies. WRB Analysis free study guide @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum ... =119&t=718
[10:03:17] <+Tigerman> yes not enought but a KEY in trading
[10:04:17] <+Tigerman> wrbtrader because I entered late here do you mean a swing trading started yesterday or something about today?
[10:05:28] <+Tigerman> wow I hate when price continue so strong without me on board expecially after I exited :(
[10:06:11] <+Tigerman> but hate it more if go stronger after shake me out for a loss :)
[10:07:53] <+Fleneer> tigerman that is "normal" market action. The "institutional traders" move it around and whipsaw you out
[10:09:22] <+Tigerman> yep but some action makes us feel bad that others the recent one was one of those :)
[10:14:18] <@wrbtrader> several WRB Hidden GAPs sitting below the current volatility contraction in the Emini futures
[10:15:07] <@wrbtrader> same in EuroFX 6E futures, Forex EurUsd currency and Light Crude Oil CL, Brent futures
[10:15:33] <@wrbtrader> Eurex DAX and Euronext CAC40 futures too
[10:15:42] <@wrbtrader> Lots of key markets in sync so far today
[10:17:04] <+Tigerman> Long iShares IWM @ 82.33

[10:19:46] <+Tigerman> price move slow I fear a retrace against me
[10:21:40] <@wrbtrader> Creeper Up Movement still active
[10:21:59] <@wrbtrader> missed a trade signal via the price action in IWM
[10:22:37] <@wrbtrader> while Emini TF was sitting around 823.20
[10:23:34] <Brian> wrbtrader do you ever look at the EMD to help with TF trades?
[10:23:47] <+Tigerman> Long iShares IWM @ 82.41
[10:24:03] <+Tigerman> Exited 1/2 iShares IWM Long @ 82.42 --> + 0.01
[10:24:12] <+Tigerman> Exited Remainder iShares IWM Long @ 82.43 --> + 0.02

[10:28:46] <+Tigerman> my last trades have to be explained :)
[10:28:57] <+Tigerman> simpli platform mess
[10:29:28] <+MUMU> I hope you did not short at 81.43 :)
[10:29:53] <+Tigerman> on remainder of my long I exited at 82.43
[10:30:39] <+Tigerman> but strangly my platform say all position out but still some pz are in my portfolio :(
[10:30:42] <@wrbtrader> Creeper Up Movement still active
[10:31:12] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 824.90 -> small size
[10:31:15] <+Tigerman> so have to exited that but not the right amount so I add a short
[10:31:17] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[10:31:49] <@wrbtrader> just got a little choppy
[10:32:07] <@wrbtrader> now a good chance a low volatility tight trading range will show up soon
[10:32:11] <@wrbtrader> :(
[10:32:56] <+Tigerman> Long iShares IWM @ 82.49
[10:33:01] <+Tigerman> small sz

[10:33:35] <+Tigerman> I did :)
[10:33:41] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 824.90 --> 0
[10:33:53] <+Tigerman> price too slow
[10:34:14] <@wrbtrader> had the chop not shown up after my entry...I would have continue holding this trade
[10:34:52] <@wrbtrader> will just wait for the next WRB Hidden GAP to shake things up again
[10:35:42] <@wrbtrader> shallow WRB pt1 reached on that price action I exited out of
[10:35:50] <@wrbtrader> volatility spike now
[10:35:59] <@wrbtrader> Good chance a WRB Hidden GAP will appear
[10:39:38] <+Tigerman> wow I checked right now volatility is at absolute low from 4 years
[10:40:01] <+Tigerman> not surprise trading is very hard these days
[10:43:35] <+Tigerman> and the ranfe is declining from one year to date
[10:43:45] <+Tigerman> ranfe =range
[10:47:43] <+Tigerman> Long iShares IWM @ 82.66
[10:49:28] <+Tigerman> Exited all iShares IWM Long @ 82.58 --> - 0.08
[10:53:22] <+Tigerman> Long iShares IWM @ 82.59
[10:53:51] <+Tigerman> Exited all iShares IWM Long @ 82.55 --> - 0.04
[10:54:20] <+Tigerman> play too agressive here anyway only small size to taste
[11:00:41] <@wrbtrader> low volatility
[11:08:14] <+Tigerman> Shorts iShares IWM @ 82.51
[11:08:44] <+Tigerman> Covered 1/2 iShares IWM Short @ 82.5 --> + 0.01
[11:09:00] <+Tigerman> Covered 1/4 iShares IWM Short @ 82.47 --> + 0.04
[11:09:11] <+Tigerman> Covered Remainder iShares IWM Short @ 82.45 --> + 0.06
[11:10:07] <+SailorTra> Dow hitting high from May and just overshooting a little on the SP500.
[11:10:20] <+Tigerman> my short was at 10:58
[11:10:44] <+Tigerman> pay a little more on that spike
[11:11:11] <@wrbtrader> Creeper Down movement
[11:11:30] <+Tigerman> than price retrace up against me but I was enought sure price have to fall so I resisted and exited on the next spike down
[11:11:48] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 824.40 -> small size
[11:11:57] <@wrbtrader> 1 contract
[11:12:09] <+Tigerman> simply hang on is a terrible thing to do from mental side and very difficult without proper analysys
[11:12:29] <@wrbtrader> low volatility and time of day...keeping the risk manageable via 1 contract
[11:12:34] <+Tigerman> low volatility doesn t help in add
[11:13:50] <@wrbtrader> Covered Emini TF Short @ 824.30 --> + 0.1
[11:13:59] <@wrbtrader> shallow WRB pt1 reached @ 824.10
[11:14:18] <@wrbtrader> hung around a little longer to see if it could push lower on the low volatility
[11:15:12] <+SailorTra> short es 1422.75. Not a optimal entrance. Was trying to get in a lot higher with a limit.
[11:22:03] <+SailorTra> maybe going for a later gap fill. Holding for a larger intraday trade.
[11:24:45] <+SailorTra> needs to break this 21.25 down.
[11:29:03] <+Tigerman> Shorts iShares IWM @ 82.33
[11:29:14] <+Tigerman> Covered all iShares IWM Short @ 82.3 --> + 0.03
[11:30:04] <+Tigerman> just a fast scalp following the strong down move
[11:30:08] <+SailorTra> cover 1/2 at 19.75, might re-enter at a better spot
[11:39:01] <+SailorTra> hitting a little sup on ES.Might bounce back up a little before down spiral. Still looking for gap fill.
[11:43:27] <+SailorTra> Their has been a rising up tl since thur afternoon that I'm basing this on also there is another one a little below at around 1417. So there are a few levels of potential sup that could make this puppy bounce.
[11:47:14] <+SailorTra> -----who here trades the ES?
[11:48:13] <@X> #TheStrategyLab -> Chat room for traders using concepts from WRB Analysis to understand "market context" and to help improve the performance of your trade signal strategies. WRB Analysis free study guide @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum ... =119&t=718
[12:01:46] <@wrbtrader> I don't trade Emini ES (heavily traded it in the past) but I do watch the price action of Emini ES just as closely as I do Emini TF eventhough I trade Emini TF
[12:02:24] <@wrbtrader> In fact, some trading days I watch Emini ES "more" than I do Emini TF
[12:05:38] <+SailorTra> Thanks WRB, I remember years ago there were lots of ES traders in here. Seems like forex etc is just as popular.
[12:06:21] <+SailorTra> -ES is now hitting the rising lower TL. Still looking for a little more down move to at least 1416.0
[12:24:09] <+SailorTra> looks like it's caught between 2 TL... might be pulling out at 1417.25
[12:27:30] <Tigerman> reconnected again my isp was down
[12:33:43] <@wrbtrader> Emini ES, TF, YM, NQ, EMD now trading via a low volatility price action INSIDE the range of a recent WRB Hidden GAP.
[12:33:59] <@wrbtrader> Time of day in such a price action makes this high risk trading.
[12:35:24] <+Tigerman> yep part of the day I prefer go out and jogging a lot in front of computer is not good for health
[12:36:04] <+Tigerman> also not particular news today ,many news tomorrow
[12:36:43] <+Tigerman> also everybody wait x news out of BCE in next weeks
[12:38:59] <+SailorTra> I'm waiting to get my order filled... But I still think this gap may be filled today.
[12:41:37] <+SailorTra> WRB, I use a 5min chart as my primary chart. Looks like from what I've seen you can used your hidden gaps on a 5min too. Or is it chart time specific?
[12:43:41] <@wrbtrader> I really don't use a specific time frame.
[12:44:01] <@wrbtrader> I mainly try to find trade opportunities on the 2min, 3min, 5min and 15min chart...
[12:44:19] <@wrbtrader> Yet, I do follow the 60min and daily charts to help with my market context
[12:44:46] <+Brian> how many charts do you use total?
[12:44:50] <@wrbtrader> I also do use the 1min chart sometimes whenever there's unusual fast moving price action (such as a FOMC announcement)
[12:45:10] <+SailorTra> ok. I noticed from what I read it was a 3min chart. I was wondering if it's like blended candlesticks (the way I do things when changing time frames).
[12:45:29] <+Brian> sounds like you have 50+ charts open w/all the time frames and diff futures you track
[12:46:07] <@wrbtrader> right now I have 18 charts and use templates.
[12:46:30] <@wrbtrader> Thus, via a click of a button on another template...I have another different 18 charts
[12:46:38] <@wrbtrader> I have 5 templates
[12:46:57] <@wrbtrader> For example, I have one template with just the world INDEX charts
[12:47:32] <+SailorTra> out at 17.25 on other half. I still think it's going to gap fill, but want to hit the beach and don't want a trailing stop (which will not be as profitable).
[12:48:06] <@wrbtrader> that support in the volatility contraction just broke
[12:49:42] <+SailorTra> I think 15.50 on the ES is what my target was...
[12:50:49] <+SailorTra> -My big trading problem is loosing sight of the forest for a tree and visa versa. I have 11yr of techicnal analysis experience and yet still have this problem.
[12:52:46] <+SailorTra> ---I think it's part of the analysis paralysis...
[12:53:42] <+Tigerman> take care all see tomorrow
[12:56:07] <+SailorTra> For example... If the market is going to trend reverse it needs to start doing the opposite. So if it was bullish it needs to break all bullish things that can hold it up. But these little things could also be long trades (small intraday long scalps). So do you go for the bigger short, or the small scalps...and these small little bounces could actually be the start of a failed reversal
[12:56:07] <+SailorTra> and actually the bulls will take over again.
[12:57:43] <+SailorTra> WRB, your hidden gaps from what I've seen could be very useful to my style of trading. So I'm looking forward to studying it! It's the first unique trading insight I've seen in years (and I've been around the block many times lol)
[13:04:30] <@wrbtrader> Its design was accidental via drawing hand charts on graph paper for my step-father (a floor trader at the time) that wanted to study other markets.
[13:05:07] <@wrbtrader> It was kind of like an after school project for me after he got home from work.
[13:05:25] <+Brian> how long ago did you start developing it?
[13:06:53] <@wrbtrader> around 1980
[13:07:08] <@wrbtrader> I was a teenager
[13:07:29] <@wrbtrader> didn't start to fine tuning it until college
[13:08:07] <+MUMU> wrbtrader you exposed your age lol
[13:08:19] <@wrbtrader> after I read some old books on Dow Theory, Supply/Demand Analysis.
[13:08:29] <@wrbtrader> teens is several years :)
[13:08:48] <@wrbtrader> So yeah...you can guess closely my age within a few years
[13:09:05] <+MUMU> :)
[13:11:13] <+MUMU> WRB, are you sharing your system here for free? :)
[13:18:13] <@X> #TheStrategyLab -> Chat room for traders using concepts from WRB Analysis to understand "market context" and to help improve the performance of your trade signal strategies. WRB Analysis free study guide @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/tsl/forum ... =119&t=718
[13:19:05] <+SailorTra> 15.50 hit. (not in it)
[13:19:12] <+SailorTra> 15.50 hit
[13:20:56] <+SailorTra> mumu, WRB has a ch 1,2,3 for free. I'd read it on his website and see if it peaks your curiosity. WRB (I used to know him as wrbtrader) is a stand up guy and kows price action well.
[13:29:05] <@wrbtrader> MUMU...its the same reason why the chat room is free.
[13:29:28] <@wrbtrader> Everybody will use it for different reasons
[13:30:11] <@wrbtrader> Its also the same reason why we all reply to peoples message post at trading forums with trading tips or advice...freely.
[13:30:57] <@wrbtrader> The tutorials is just basic understandings.
[13:33:36] <+MUMU> ok great...
[13:33:59] <+MUMU> is it only for futures or stocks as well?
[13:34:00] <@wrbtrader> Creeper Down Movement still active
[13:55:02] <+Fleneer> Anyone have any idea what's tanking the market after the strong early session run up?
[13:57:09] <+SailorTra> Fleneer, on the techncials... the dow and SP hit the May highs. Lots of big traders use that for entrance.
[14:13:42] <+SailorTra> Fleener...The Dow and Nasdq are hitting some sup areas, the sp is also hitting some (not as big though), so it could be finding a potential short term bottom (or who knows, maybe the start of another rally to attack May highs).
[14:37:04] <@wrbtrader> U.S. stocks lose steam as Apple falls (MarketWatch) @ http://www.marketwatch.com/story/us-sto ... 2012-08-21
[14:38:40] <@wrbtrader> At the top of the market...AAPL computer price action did a WRB Hidden GAP that immediately started a Creeper Down Movement

[15:04:09] <@wrbtrader> volatility increasing
[15:04:55] <@wrbtrader> Creeper Down Movement still active
[15:09:55] <+SailorTra> wrb, now i wish I was using your creeper method today... Like I told you yesterday, I jump a little to soon. I made a nice profit as I was predicting a gap fill when I got in, but I sure wish I was still short ;)
[15:11:28] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 813.50 -> small size
[15:11:37] <@wrbtrader> increasing volatility
[15:12:00] <@wrbtrader> no fill @ 814.00
[15:12:06] <@wrbtrader> I must have been last in line :(
[15:12:26] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[15:17:52] <@wrbtrader> Covered Emini TF Short @ 812.00 --> + 1.5
[15:17:59] <@wrbtrader> WRB pt1 reached
[15:20:36] <@wrbtrader> It only took the price action of one stock (e.g. AAPL) to start the downfall from the intraday highs
[15:21:32] <@wrbtrader> AAPL most recent WRB Hidden GAP 1500pm - 1503pm est
[15:44:44] <@wrbtrader> Creeper Up Movement going into the 1545pm - 1600pm regular trading session action
[15:45:13] <@wrbtrader> via the 1min chart

-------------------------

#TheStrategyLab is free and is a serious professional trading chat room involving WRB Analysis in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries about stocks, futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not. Yet, the only requirement is that you want to learn WRB Analysis.

Therefore, we welcome all traders that want to learn about WRB Analysis regardless if they are beginners or experience

The purpose of #TheStrategyLab is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #TheStrategyLab.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #TheStrategyLab is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: chat logs saved (timestamp) from Québec, Canada in eastern daylight time
