#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades or market commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day and this gives them a better understanding of their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day. In addition, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets to help keep the chat room diversified...posting trades or market commentaries about the price action on their monitors.

Quote:
#FuturesTrades chat room is not intended to be an education room. Therefore, if you're looking for education or want to learn more about the trade methods of others...you need to participate via asking specific questions because others are mainly there to post some trades or talk a few times about the price action they see on their monitors each trading day they use #FuturesTrades. Simply, traders are not in the chat room to spoon feed you with useful trading info if you do not ask questions.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trade information not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books if you're not interested in scheduling one on one (private) real-time price action only trading education discussions. To gain access to #FuturesTrades chat room...please follow the instructions @ FTCHAT Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

[15:57:46] <+Tigerman> wow look at ym !!!
[15:58:39] <+T4n_paper> Shorts TF @ 807.4 -> small size «« simulator »»
[15:59:11] <@wrbtrader> Talk about contradiction...
[15:59:31] <@wrbtrader> It's been awhile since I've seen that type of contrast amongst the Eminis
[15:59:55] <@wrbtrader> actually scary looking
[16:01:45] <+Tigerman> umh.. my observation is recently markets behave very strange..
[16:01:59] <+T4n_paper> Covered TF Short @ 807.3 --> + 0.1 «« simulator »»
[16:03:17] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 807.40 -> small size
[16:03:22] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[16:04:10] <+T4n_paper> first day using averaging in
[16:04:21] <+T4n_paper> no worse results than normal
[16:04:28] <+T4n_paper> not fun though
[16:05:16] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 807.10 --> - 0.3
[16:06:55] <@wrbtrader> usually when these types of "rare" price action contrasts appears like that (one spiking upwards while the other is spiking downwards)...
[16:07:08] <@wrbtrader> There's a big correction in one to catch up with the other.
[16:07:24] <@wrbtrader> That also didn't happen...very strange price action.
[16:08:18] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 806.40 -> small size
[16:08:35] <@wrbtrader> 1 contract
[16:09:27] <@wrbtrader> Covered Emini TF Short @ 806.60 --> - 0.2
[16:09:59] <@wrbtrader> looks like it's just going to range here (up and down a few ticks)
[16:10:22] <+T4n_paper> Long TF @ 806.6 -> small size «« simulator »»
[16:11:14] <@wrbtrader> That price action (contrasting volatility spikes) is a reminder about the "unexpected or surprising price action".
[16:13:51] <+T4n_paper> Exited TF Long @ 806.8 --> + 0.2 «« simulator »»
[16:37:02] <+Tigerman> take care all see tomorrow
[16:54:23] <@wrbtrader> I wonder if it was the "Facebook" announcement that it would go IPO that caused the strange contrast in the Eminis volatility spikes
[16:55:12] <+T4n_paper> maybe
[16:57:46] <@wrbtrader> I do know the market was waiting all day for the announcment but I don't know when that announcement was made.
[16:58:20] <@wrbtrader> To produce rare volatility like that where one Emini spikes upwards while the others spikes downwards...it's usually news related.
[16:58:36] <+T4n_paper> I thought the news was out yesterday
[16:59:40] <@wrbtrader> I could be wrong but I think Facebook was meeting with "different" wall street firms yesterday to finalize which one will have the great honor of supporting the IPO.
[17:00:45] <+T4n_paper> secondmarket investors already made a killing before the ipo
[17:02:05] <+T4n_paper> I was checking it out after watching the facebook ipo news yesterday
[17:03:15] <@wrbtrader> I just checked the newswire...
[17:04:31] <@wrbtrader> Looks like the announcement was made public that the IPO is confirmed today when if OFFICIALLY filed its required documents for the IPO with the SEC sometime this "late afternoon".
[17:04:58] <@wrbtrader> News of such hit the public around 4:50pm est
[17:05:10] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[17:05:28] <+T4n_paper> facebook it is then
[17:05:50] <@wrbtrader> That means its possible that someone(s) in the know may have taken positions in the market "late into the trading session" just prior to the 4:50pm est announcement
[17:06:54] <@wrbtrader> I expect it to be a favorite trading instrument for a few years like Google became amongst pro traders
[17:08:25] <@wrbtrader> Just wait until Twitter goes IPO in a few years...geeesh.
[17:08:50] <+T4n_paper> well if you have millions already, you can buy into them pre-ipo
[17:09:09] <@wrbtrader> I'm sure many "social networks" will be watching Facebook IPO and trading closely for a few years before they decide to do the same.
[17:09:33] <@wrbtrader> Yeah...I'm not exactly sure how the "pre-buy in" works for those in the know...
[17:09:41] <@wrbtrader> It's a huge advantage they have obviously
[17:10:05] <+T4n_paper> i'm sure
Session Close: Wed Feb 01 18:01:41 2012

-------------------------

#FuturesTrades is free and is a serious professional trading chat room in which any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Simply, you don't need to be a client of TheStrategyLab.com to use the chat room nor do you need to be a price action only trader (no indicators) because some members use indicators while others do not.

Therefore, we welcome all traders with their own trade signal methods, different perspective of the markets and different experience levels. To gain access to #FuturesTrades...please follow the instructions at the below link.

http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
