#FuturesTrades is free along with being a serious professional trading chat room and any trader can use the chat room to post their trades or commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies. Further, although our chat room is smaller than the other popular chat rooms...we are the most active chat room in posting trades or market commentaries involving futures, exchange traded funds or forex currencies in comparison to other free chat rooms.

#FuturesTrades is designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a real time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day. In addition, we welcome all traders with their own methods or different perspective of the markets to help keep the chat room diversified...posting trades or market commentaries about the price action on their monitors.

Quote:
#FuturesTrades chat room is not intended to be an education room. Therefore, if you're looking for education or want to learn more about the trade methods of others...you need to participate via asking specific questions because others are mainly there to post some trades or talk a few times about the price action they see on their monitors each trading day they use #FuturesTrades. Simply, traders are not in the chat room to spoon feed you with useful trading info if you do not ask questions.

With that said, thanks for reading the trades or market commentaries that's below and we highly recommend you make reading of the logs a part of your trading routine because you will sometimes find useful trade information not discussed anywhere else online nor in any books if you're not interested in scheduling one on one (private) real-time price action only trading education discussions. To gain access to #FuturesTrades chat room...please follow the instructions @ FTCHAT Support Forum * http://www.thestrategylab.com/ftchat/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

[11:50:45] <+T4n> still loud, just not "rockety"
[12:25:12] <@wrbtrader> Just got back...had a lot of distractions here at home that past hour
[12:25:30] <@wrbtrader> looks like I'm missing out on most of this Creeper Up Movement :(

[14:22:03] <+werner> Shorts Emini NQ @ 2368.50
[14:24:00] <+werner> Covered all Emini NQ Short @ 2365.75 --> + 2.75

[15:12:38] <+werner> Exited all Emini NQ Long @ 2369.25 --> - 0.5
[15:19:15] <@wrbtrader> Not a pretty price action the past 15 minutes
[15:19:30] <@wrbtrader> Where have all the traders (speculation) gone ???
[15:19:45] <@wrbtrader> Looks like a bunch of grandmas playing for ticks
[15:19:48] <@wrbtrader> :)
[15:22:47] <+werner> :)
[15:25:36] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 764.90 -> small size
[15:25:55] <@wrbtrader> volatility spike and I'm obviously chasing this one
[15:26:00] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[15:27:19] <@wrbtrader> was also just thinking why didn't the FED Beige Book @ 2pm est NOT generate its normal high volatility price action that usually appears @ 2pm est.
[15:27:49] <@wrbtrader> Something weird going on recently with the "big market players" or institutional traders...very strange price action.
[15:28:08] <+werner> yes indd
[15:28:53] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 765.90 --> + 1
[15:31:21] <@wrbtrader> I want to put emphasis on the FACT that the FED Beige Book "is a big market mover"...
[15:31:38] <@wrbtrader> It creats a ton of volatility @ 2pm est
[15:33:10] <@wrbtrader> Today it did NOTHING except for volatility contraction and then the price "suspiciously" dropped 20 minutes later to only creep back upwards and go into a volatility contraction at the same price area of the 2pm est FED Beige Book release.
[15:33:35] <@wrbtrader> That is an extremely unusual price action to see.
[15:34:44] <@wrbtrader> This market is scary folks...be careful.
[15:34:48] <@wrbtrader> seriously
[15:35:02] <+werner> yes i agree
[15:36:27] <+T4n> volatility quickly fades
[15:38:29] <+werner> Long Emini NQ @ 2372.25
[15:39:16] <@wrbtrader> There's a storm coming...I say that everytime I see price action like this that last more than a few trading days.
[15:39:40] <@wrbtrader> Rarely am I wrong about this.
[15:40:45] <@wrbtrader> 4pm est rush hour traffic around the corner
[15:41:07] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 765.60 -> small size
[15:41:40] <@wrbtrader> 2 contracts
[15:42:25] <@wrbtrader> at a tight stop now
[15:42:59] <+werner> Exited all Emini NQ Long @ 2372.50 --> + 0.25
[15:43:04] <@wrbtrader> Hopefully that storm appears later this week and not something forming over a few weeks
[15:43:18] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 765.40 --> - 0.2
[15:44:22] <@wrbtrader> nice looking big dark WRB so far
[15:46:12] <+T4n> Long TF @ 765.2 -> large size «« simulator »»
[15:47:46] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 765.10 -> small size
[15:47:51] <@wrbtrader> 2+1
[15:48:01] <@wrbtrader> re-entry
[15:52:40] <+T4n> Exited TF Long @ 765.3 --> + 0.1 «« simulator »»
[15:54:15] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 765.30 --> + 0.2
[15:54:30] <@wrbtrader> It tried
[15:56:24] <@wrbtrader> big dark WRB
[15:56:39] <+werner> Shorts Emini NQ @ 2370.50
[15:57:03] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 764.30 -> small size
[15:57:11] <@wrbtrader> 1 contract
[15:57:40] <@wrbtrader> Shorts Emini TF @ 764.30 -> Add
[15:58:00] <@wrbtrader> 2 added
[15:59:55] <@wrbtrader> Covered all Emini TF Short @ 764.60 --> - 0.6
[16:00:07] <+werner> Covered all Emini NQ Short @ 2368.50 --> + 2
[16:00:50] <+werner> divergence nq/tf
[16:00:56] <+werner> :(
[16:01:37] <@wrbtrader> Long Emini TF @ 765.20 -> small size
[16:01:46] <@wrbtrader> 3 contracts
[16:02:30] <@wrbtrader> werner...that's been happening lately between the TF and NQ...
[16:02:51] <+werner> yes wrbtrader
[16:03:05] <@wrbtrader> volatility switching between them and then one goes one direction and the other goes another direction
[16:03:58] <@wrbtrader> At first glance, I would say that something "fundamental" has changed with TF and it has moved over to the NQ.
[16:04:00] <+werner> thats is why it is so difficult these days
[16:04:24] <@wrbtrader> Lets see if it continues for the remainder of the month...
[16:05:04] <@wrbtrader> The longer this keeps happening the more I'll be convince there's a switch occurring.
[16:05:21] <@wrbtrader> That's not unusual...
[16:05:55] <@wrbtrader> I saw this happen before when the CME sold ER2 to the ICE exchange when it became known as TF
[16:06:34] <+werner> yes that was not a good move imo
[16:06:49] <@wrbtrader> The major market participants in TF moved to NQ, EMD and YM for awhile but they gradually return over the next year after that.
[16:07:04] <@wrbtrader> But it did take about a year for them to return :(
[16:08:03] <@wrbtrader> That was the year I started trading the other Eminis while Emini TF tried to get it's funk back
[16:08:29] <+werner> yes i remember that
[16:09:15] <wiseguy7600> do you always try to look for the contract with most vola?
[16:09:47] <+wiseguy7600> asking as i trade mostly european markets and the vola king in europe is the dax...
[16:11:27] <+wiseguy7600> and wondering if you in general think with the wrb the more vola the merrier?
[16:11:52] <@X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for traders of Emini Futures (EMD, TF, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (6E, EC), Eurex/Euronext Futures (DAX, ESTX50, FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM), Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, XLE, QQQQ, SPY) and Forex Currencies
[16:13:19] <@wrbtrader> Exited all Emini TF Long @ 765.20 --> 0
[16:13:47] <@wrbtrader> That zero pretty much sums up my trading day :(
[16:15:13] <@wrbtrader> Same price action between 1545pm est - 1615pm est...
[16:15:24] <@wrbtrader> volatility gone to sleep
[16:16:05] <@wrbtrader> If this keeps up...traders are going to start sitting more on the sidelines
[16:16:33] <@wrbtrader> Then that's when the storm will hit !!!
[16:17:08] <@wrbtrader> [16:09:15] <wiseguy7600> do you always try to look for the contract with most vola?
[16:17:16] <@wrbtrader> Yes...I do.
[16:17:25] <+werner> i keep it in my mind :)..gn all
[16:17:56] <@wrbtrader> I got no problems in switching a trading instrument when I become suspicious that it's "volatility problems" will last more than a few weeks
[16:18:30] <+wiseguy7600> would you recommend that to a novice too? or you suggest starting with something that does not move as much, ie a more "forgiving" contract?
[16:18:40] <@wrbtrader> or that something more permanent has occur in the market of the trading instrument
[16:19:04] <@wrbtrader> wiseguy7600...if your making "more" money when something is volatile...
[16:19:22] <@wrbtrader> I would NOT recommend moving to something that is LESS volatile.
[16:19:53] <@wrbtrader> In contrast, I would recommend moving to something that has INCREASED in volatility or has not lost any volatility
[16:20:18] <@wrbtrader> For example...lets pretend Emini TF has been behaving like this for a few MONTHS instead of a few DAYS.
[16:20:37] <@wrbtrader> Lets also pretend we notice the INCREASED volatility in Emini NQ futures...
[16:21:04] <@wrbtrader> I will "without hesitant" switch to trading the Emini NQ
[16:21:26] <@wrbtrader> Like I said before, this has happen other times before in the past...
[16:21:57] <@wrbtrader> I always switched from the Emini TF to something that has INCREASED in volatility or has not lost its volatility like Emini TF
[16:22:15] <+wiseguy7600> ok. will certainly consider that. coming from the fixed income world and moving directly to the dax (best trading hours for me) will feel scary at the beginning, but...
[16:22:17] <@wrbtrader> The goal is to be profitable...not get married to a particular trading instrument.
[16:22:50] <@wrbtrader> The Eurex DAX was on the top of my list in the past...
[16:23:07] <@wrbtrader> I use to trade it until I started having "consistent" data problems.
[16:23:33] <+wiseguy7600> i may give the simulator a try after all these years hearing so much about. just fear that I am not the kind of person who will take simulator serious as I think most of trading is fought in your head...
[16:23:42] <@wrbtrader> Yet, I didn't have the same data problems when I traded while visiting relatives in France.
[16:24:53] <+wiseguy7600> good to know, that you recommend people to look for vola when selecting a product. thx
[16:25:29] <+wiseguy7600> i know that in the end you have to trade something that "fits" your personality but still good to hear this general guidlines
[16:28:55] <@wrbtrader> Yep, I'll be paying close attention to the Emini NQ futures, Light Crude Oil CL futures, Gold GC futures, EuroFX 6E futures as a possible new trading instrument if/when Emini TF continues losing it's volatility as if there's a fundamental switch in the key players that ususually trades it.
[16:30:23] <+wiseguy7600> don´t you think CL has WAY more vola than any Index?
[16:30:36] <@wrbtrader> Heck YES :)
[16:30:48] <@wrbtrader> It's the KING of speculation :)
[16:30:53] <+wiseguy7600> just as you mentioned as vola one of the factors when selecting a product...
[16:31:14] <+wiseguy7600> or do you also like to stick to indizes as you have been involved for decades?
[16:31:28] <@wrbtrader> No...
[16:32:02] <@wrbtrader> My first trading instruments when I started was Light Crude Oil CL futures and Treasury futures.
[16:32:10] <@wrbtrader> My old man was a pit trader in those.
[16:32:28] <@wrbtrader> That's the only reason why I started there with those particular trading instruments...
[16:32:34] <+wiseguy7600> yeah, remember you mentioned it
[16:32:44] <@wrbtrader> I knew a lot about them via my conversatios and teachings from my old man
[16:32:50] <+wiseguy7600> two completely different products i guess
[16:33:00] <@wrbtrader> Then when the Emini futures came...
[16:33:07] <+wiseguy7600> even when oil was below $20
[16:33:10] <@wrbtrader> There was a lot of excitement...
[16:33:24] <@wrbtrader> I tried them for a few days in thinking it would be a fad for me.
[16:33:34] <@wrbtrader> They just kind'uv grew on me.
[16:50:56] <+wiseguy7600> intra-day you sooner or later run into liquidity issues
[16:51:41] <@wrbtrader> Agree but I've learn that when liquidity dries up or gets to the point its having an impact on your trading...
[16:51:56] <@wrbtrader> That liquidity usually moves some place else.
[16:52:11] <@wrbtrader> It just doesn't vanish completely...it just finds a new girlfriend.
[16:53:07] <@wrbtrader> When it does find a new girlfriend...I want to be that guy that wants to spend time with her too.
[16:53:19] <@wrbtrader> :)
[16:53:26] <+wiseguy7600> hehe

The purpose of #FuturesTrades is that it's designed to be a trade journal for documentation purposes only so that members can have a time stamp archive of trades and market commentaries of each trading day so that they can better understand their broker statements from one trade to the next trade when they review their performance numbers on any given trading day.

Further, members are not obligated to educate nor help other members but members are encourage to ask questions about any trades or market commentaries that's posted by others because sometimes the answers contains useful trading tips.

In addition, our primary job in the free chat room is to moderate the room (keep the peace) because with so many members using different trade signal methods along with different opinions about the market...debates or arguments can easily flare up without moderating. In addition, our presence in the chat room is to ensure it's a spam free chat room during trading although these archived chat logs may contain advertisements for guest visitors.

Also, to prevent the usual mix-up about our different chat rooms, most of our fee-base clients do not use chat rooms just like most retail traders do not use chat rooms. Yet, the few clients that do use chat rooms, our fee-base clients are discussing market analysis or price action only trade signals via concepts from our strategies in the private chat rooms called #VolatilityTradingTSL or #SwingTradingTSL and they're not allowed to do such in #FuturesTrades.

Reminder, our Terms of Use (TOU) Policy is a must read to prevent any misunderstandings along with revealing that #FuturesTrades is a serious professional trading chat room and we expect members to act professional. Also, these logs may have been edited (rarely) to remove any messages that a member has complained to me via private message that they consider a particular commentary to be inappropriate, offending or too far in the off topic area that's a distraction when the commentary was posted.

Note: All logs regardless to their location at TheStrategyLab.com website are eastern standard time.
