#FuturesTrades September 22nd Friday 2006 Trade Log
#FuturesTrades is a private and free realtime trading posting chat room on the IRC Othernet server that allows traders from all over the world to communicate.
Click here for the instructions on gaining access to #FuturesTrades.
In addition, trades posted by members of #FuturesTrades in the below trade post chat log are by traders that do not have access to TheStrategyLab.com strategies except for NihabaAshi.
Fee-based clients of TheStrategyLab.com strategies use the private IRC rooms called #TheStrategyLab and #SwingTradingTSL.
Further, you'll find below the chat room time stamped text log of realtime trades (real money and simulator) that were posted by full-time, part-time traders from around the world and the timestamp is eastern standard time (est).
Also, below NihabaAshi's trading blog like comments, you can read the time stamped trades (prices, entries, exits et cetera) and market discussions that sometimes contains trading tips or insights that are more useful than what you will see at any other futures blog or chat room.
Trading Blog Below is not your traditional trader's blog in the usual blog format. However, you will find informative commentary on a few occasions as time permits and such will contain trading tips that should help your trading as I attempt to sum up my thoughts as I traversed from the first trade to the last trade that was posted in #FuturesTrades realtime trade posting chat room. ER2 EuroFX EC +2.40 +0.0000 $240.00 $0.00 Laptops versus Desktops
Today was spent mainly in re-configuring my computers (been doing such all week) and network to include an old computer that's been upgraded with hardware and operating system for trading.
Also, I highly recommend to any trader to use flat panel LCDs.
In fact, I had replaced my four 17inch normal flat panels with to two 22inch widescreen panels...giving the four 17inch normal flat panels to friends.
In addition, I've gotten rid of two desktops and I'm now trading via two powerful widescreen laptops.
Essentially giving me 4 screens while staying completely portable with XP Professional on the laptops even though I don't use the screens on the laptops because the two 22inch widescreen flat panels is all I need.
As for the desktops, they have now been converted from business use to personal use due to the fact they are designed for XP media center entertainment.
Yet, be careful about XP Professional although its highly recommended for traders because there are three versions:
* SP2, x64 and OEM version.
The x64 and OEM versions requires you to reformat your hard-drive and currently many business software and some trading programs have conflicts with x64. They will continue to do so until everybody releases new versions of their programs to take advantage of x64 features.
With that said, I did manage to catch a quick short position after the market failed at its counter-thrust in a weak attempt to move back upwards.
Simply, today was just a bearish continuation price action that was still reacting to yesterday's afternoon sell-off.
Today's results (real money and simulator trading) shown above are that of NihabaAshi only. To see his total accumulated points for the month of September...click here. To see results for the months of 2006 and prior years...click here.

Therefore, waiting till the last few weeks March to prepare for April's taxes is not good for your trading and could put extra stress on your trading during tax month or the months that follow if your one of those traders that filed an extension.. Therefore, its best to be on top of your taxes throughout the year and Traders Accounting is a great resource for such especially if you want to prevent penalties or an audit several years from now. <pat255> drip drip down.. 10:09 <substanz> Long YM @ 11585 «« paper »» 10:12 <szubaark> Buys NQ @ 1641.50 10:19 <pdays> Long ER2 @ 724.9 10:21 <szubaark> Exited all Long NQ at 1644 --> + 2.5 Actual Fill was 1641.75.. so +2 <substanz> good quick trade szu ! 10:22 <bykasif> Long ER2 @ 724.7 «« paper »» <szubaark> thanks.. we were due for a small bounce <substanz> yes, ym don't follow 10:23 <pdays> Exited all ER2 Long @ 724.1 --> - 0.8 10:25 <substanz> Exited all YM Long @ 11577 --> - 8 «« paper »» <szubaark> Shorts NQ @ 1639.50 10:26 <substanz> Long YM @ 11577 «« paper »» <les> Shorts ER2 @ 723.3 late, sorry 10:27 exit stop set ER2 @ 725 exit stop set ER2 @ 725.1 10:28 Trailing Stop Hit ER2 @ 725.1 --> - 1.8 10:34 Shorts ER2 @ 723 10:37 <bykasif> Exited all ER2 Long @ 722.9 --> - 1.8 «« paper »» <les> Covered 1/3 ER2 Short @ 722.5 --> + 0.5 10:39 <X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for realtime trade posting by traders of Emini Futures (ER2, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (EC), Eurex Derivatives (DAX, ESTX50), Euronext Futures (FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM) and Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, QQQQ, SPY) 10:41 <les> c'mon er, break dammit 10:43 <szubaark> les ER waiting on NQ <les> and dow and es :( its been leading tho 10:44 <szubaark> pop goes the weasel exit stop moved to breakeven NQ @ 1639.50 10:48 no followthru Covered all Short NQ at 1639.50 --> 0 :(( <les> Covered 1/3 ER2 Short @ 721.8 --> + 1.2 10:55 exit stop lowered ER2 @ 722.6 10:58 exit stop lowered ER2 @ 722.2 10:59 <pat255> emini u are S this am? 11:01 <eminitrader> yes done with it though ..and long 1321.25 11:02 <pat255> kty 11:03 <eminitrader> got out at yes low ..1322.75 <les> Covered Remainder ER2 Short @ 721.6 --> + 1.4 11:07 Long ER2 @ 721.4 11:10 <eminitrader> out all long 1323.25 11:13 done for now.. <pat255> k guys c u all later ty back to office 11:14 <eminitrader> later pat <les> Exited all ER2 Long @ 720.8 --> - 0.6 11:18 (: <ItalianSharp> volatility is literally dead in the markets 11:23 no news coming up and it's friday afternoon...it's likely we are gonna see this kind of dead action until the close <NihabaAshi> I'm not trading today so far...to much reconfiguration to do with my computers. 11:27 Will be spending this weekend cutting my custom made desk to better fit my trading needs. 11:28 By the way...there is a FED speech today by Fed Moskow giving a speech at some conference around 1pm est. 11:30 <les> Long ER2 @ 721.5 11:32 Long ER2 @ 721.7 -> Add Exited 1/3 ER2 Long @ 722.1 --> + 0.4 11:34 Long ER2 @ 722.5 -> Add 11:35 <bykasif> Long ER2 @ 722.7 «« paper »» 11:38 <les> Exited 1/3 ER2 Long @ 723.2 --> + 0.7 11:39 exit stop raised ER2 @ 722.4 11:40 Trailing Stop Hit ER2 @ 722.4 --> + 0.9 11:43 that was a tough few trades but have got 2/3 of my losses back 11:44 just 2.3 pts adrift now <szubaark> les tough market today (like most days :) <les> much harder than yesterday szu i think the gretaest test of discipline is to take your entries evne after some losses 11:45 <szubaark> quick, sudden drop at the open make sure nobody gets in then Chop, typical games they play <les> i think i passed that exam today :) Long ER2 @ 723.6 11:49 <X> #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for realtime trade posting by traders of Emini Futures (ER2, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (EC), Eurex Derivatives (DAX, ESTX50), Euronext Futures (FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM) and Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, QQQQ, SPY) 11:53 <les> Exited ER2 Long @ 722.6 --> - 1 12:01 Reverse and Enter Short ER2 @ 722.6 Shorts ER2 @ 722.5 -> Add 12:03 <NihabaAshi> Shorts ER2 @ 722.50 -> small size <les> Covered 1/3 ER2 Short @ 722.1 --> + 0.4 12:05 <NihabaAshi> Covered all ER2 Short @ 721.70 --> + 0.8 12:08 <les> i'm hoping to get lucky here with a b/down 12:09 ) exit stop lowered ER2 @ 721.9 exit stop lowered ER2 @ 721.3 12:10 i'm in the money if it breaks the lod exit stop lowered ER2 @ 720.6 12:13 Covered Remainder ER2 Short @ 719.8 --> + 2.8 12:16 thats got me just in the black 12:17 Trading Edge: If your an independent trader looking for an edge to help you traverse around obstacles to profitable trading...a method that's well defined, gives you a better understanding of the markets, applicable for day trading, position trading and swing trading with a money back guaranteed policy...click here. Mentally getting away from trading is much harder to do in comparison to physically getting away from trading when its time for some rest and relaxation. Personally, one of my favorite ways to mentally rest is to watch movies I've copy & recorded from the local video store via my Slysoft software that copies any copyright protected dvd's and cd's. <szubaark> yes.. i have discipline problems too.. when i see im getting out of hand i FORCE MYSELF to quit for the day. 14:51 <les> understand but turned mine wasnt to do with discipline at all turned out nother signal here for me 14:52 Shorts ER2 @ 721 14:53 Covered 1/3 ER2 Short @ 720.5 --> + 0.5 14:57 exit stop lowered ER2 @ 721.6 <codehead> long YM 11565 <paper> 15:05 ghost don't want to trade for real this late on friday 15:06 but nice pattern agressive entry tho <les> Trailing Stop Hit ER2 @ 721.6 --> - 0.6 15:07 damn that was a good signal <codehead> exit half YM +10 <paper> stop on remainder b/e 15:08 exit Ym +15 remainder 15:09 <paper> 15:10 <les> time to go 15:17 have a good w/end all 15:18 <NihabaAshi> Be back in a few minutes...need to reboot after some heavy duty software upgrades. 15:22 <NihabaAshi> Reminder -> #FuturesTrades chat room trade logs are posted @ http://www.thestrategylab.com/RecentTrades.htm (logs will be updated tonight by 9pm est to current) 16:16 Take care all, have a nice weekend and see all on Monday. 16:17 * NihabaAshi is now known as NihabaAshi_away * DisconnectedSession Close: Fri Sep 22 16:17:53 2006 Sponsor:
I don't always trade nor monitor the market from my home office. Sometimes I'll do such from one of my favorite nearby Wi-Fi hotspot or whenever I'm traveling via using this little Wi-Fi detection gadget I got from Think Geek that will show more than just the presence of any nearby signal and its signal strength. It has a 12-character LCD that provides information on signal availability and strength as well as essential network information, including SSID, security status and channel. When multiple networks are present the LCD me to scroll through information for each network.
