Developing Patience

I'm back from vacation and I'm re-energized.

Another trader today sent me a pm to ask how did I develop my patience to prevent getting trigger happy while trading.

I replied is that I keep busy during the trading day via doing things like updating my personal trade journal, some website work, discussing current price action with other traders including posting some of my thoughts in #FuturesTrades.

This process allows me to take a break from being glued to my monitors...looking for trades.

Of course I miss some trading opportunities but overall it helps my trading tremendously via talking about trading with others instead of trying to trade (glued to price charts) all day long...resulting in developing my patience and having a better feel for the price action.

Simply, each trading day I am trading and studying the markets. Not having the ability to do both at the same time has helped developed my patience and discipline.

Mentally getting away from trading is much harder to do in comparison to physically getting away from trading when its time for some rest and relaxation. Personally, one of my favorite ways to mentally rest is to watch movies I've copy & recorded from the local video store via my Slysoft software that copies any copyright protected dvd's and cd's.
