Profit/Loss Statement

General Strategy Info: The above profit/loss info represents trades by M.A. Perry (a.k.a. NihabaAshi - martial arts and Japanese Candlestick term) only and all trades were posted in real-time within 5 seconds after entry or exit as shown in the below chat log.

Also, I'm the moderator of #FuturesTrades and I use the below chat log as feedback to critical trading information that's not available when I review my broker statements nor any statistical analysis of my trading.

Further, although I'm not familiar with the trade methods used by most members of #FuturesTrades, I use a rule based methodology (very objective) that involves price action only trading (no indicators).

There is some subjectivity involved with some of my trades when I'm developing a new entry signal or new trade management (hence the name TheStrategyLab.com).

In addition, my intermarket analysis allows me to switch and profitably trade any other trading instrument whenever I want if/when I don't want to trade the Russell 2000 ER2 Emini Futures.

With that said, today's trade posting chat log is below and it contains all my trades that were posted in real-time along with the trades of other members of #FuturesTrades.

Further, if you want the instructions for gaining access to our free #FuturesTrades chat room...click here.

<+tzar> KN-ES, 4 lcd for analysis.. tought you used only a 1 min chart, brain cell, and time and sales
<+KN-ES> :)12:04
i dont use charts
<+tzar> ok
<+KN-ES> thats doesnt mean i dont use other means of analysis :)
<+tzar> :)

i see
<+KN-ES> i use market depth in one lcd
24 inch
i need to see all those bars big.... so that i dont miss things12:05
<+tzar> what do you mean big bars?, volume bars?
<+KN-ES> nop
<+pat255> kn u look at the T/S window for entry?
<+KN-ES> BIG SIZE
<+tzar> ah i see12:06

orders
<+KN-ES> so big that even a blind can see that
<+tzar> haha

1000+ ?
<+KN-ES> or for you, you can see those bars from the moon
big and fat bars12:07
:)
<+tzar> i can only see 5 levels of depth, do you see more?
<+szubaark> is time & sales same as market depth?
<+tzar> level2 , dome is the market depth
<+KN-ES> nop
if you go the the analysis bar in ts
<Brutus> KN is there any software to give a 3D view of the DOM - with time?
<+KN-ES> there is a button for market depth there
Brutus, wealth lab can do that12:08
<+Brutus> great!, any others?
<+KN-ES> try 4.0 professional
<+Brutus> ok
<+tzar> do you use any special software to see the "big fat ones"?12:09
<+KN-ES> no Brutus, i dont see any other

tradestation and 24 inch lcd

wil give you way big and much fat bars in market depth
<+tzar> i have a 24"
<+KN-ES> great

just open a seperate desktop of ts12:10

and maximize it.........
<+tzar> ok
<+KN-ES> with market depth box
<+tzar> i understand where you going with this12:11
numerically speaking, what is a big order.. 1000? ( for ES)
<+KN-ES> in market depth window you hardly can see anything like 1000+12:12

you just see the ratio of bid and ask and bars in next few prices in the lader

time and sale will give you 100+ or 1000+ orders
<+tzar> i see12:13
interesting
what about the other 3 lcd
<+KN-ES> in one i play chess
<+tzar> haha
is that the key for your success?12:14
<+KN-ES> depends how you may define success12:15
<+tzar> ;)
being disciplined i guess
KN-ES do you have msn messenger? we can play some chess togather12:17
used to play chess a lot12:18
<+KN-ES> :)

i will install it
<+tzar> great12:19
<+KN-ES> well, if you play with me then you will have to define success again......... it will be hell easy for you :)
<+tzar> you are just being nice
<+ItalianSharp> any news leaked out that caused this upthrust12:20
<+KN-ES> well, i dont think i will have work hard to prove myself.......its just come automatically........
:)
<+tzar> there is only one way to find out :)

no kidding ItalianSharp

something mustve happend
<+ItalianSharp> YM rebounded by 40pts in a matter of 5-6 mins12:21
<+tzar> i think KN-ES pressed the wrong arrow key
<+ItalianSharp> lol
<BigDawg291> lol
<+KN-ES> and i can gurantee your success when its chess playing against me :)
<+ItalianSharp> and this is an unusual time of the day to get that kind of rebounds

FED member yellen was due up at 11.50am...
<+tzar> yes, its lunch time12:22
<+ItalianSharp> maybe he caused this
<+KN-ES> well, lets try it other way
we are making lower highs........ 86.50 84.25 ..
<+tzar> thats true

whats the next high?

8.50?
<+ItalianSharp> whatever it was, i would love to know
<+tzar> 83.50
<+KN-ES> so we are still in downtred as long as we are below 93.25
* codehead_afk is now known as codehead12:29

<+KN-ES> tzar, i mainly trade dax..... so i have my dax analysis12:35
<+tzar> ahh i se12:37

see
<+rickf> dax is the es on crack :(12:38
<+tzar> how come you like dax more

why do you say taht rickf
<+KN-ES> coz dax is more challenging
<+rickf> a 'wiggle' on the es is nothing like a 'wiggle' on the dax in terms of points/movement/motion
<+KN-ES> :)
dax and hsi are much more interesting compare to es or er12:39
way much more
<+rickf> i've traded it virtually and it frankly is beyond my comfort level

i heard that if the dax is the es on crack, then the hsi is the dax on crack :)
<+KN-ES> well, it takes time to get used to with all those quick and massive moves
yes
his is the best
we are not allow to trade his emin12:40
i
thats one problem
in that sense dax is pretty resonable
i have a dax trade vedio somewhere...........will post it in the forum if i can figure it out how to edit it12:41
video
<+rickf> brb
<rep1acs> kn how big is ur stop loss on dax normally? cuz i see it can move 10 ticks just for fun..
<+KN-ES> depends12:42

i use swing high lows

but usually its arround 5 points
<+tzar> how much is it per point?12:43
<+rep1acs> i can see i'd get whipsawed if i use stop loss for less than 5pts..
<+KN-ES> :)
i dont post dax trades here anymore...... i dont see if anyone else trades dax here12:44
<+rep1acs> do u trade dax during the europe session?
<+KN-ES> both eruope and us
till 12 pm
<+rep1acs> i like it but its too volatile for me :(
<+KN-ES> after 12 it goes cash...... volatility and liquidity drops like hell12:45
<+tzar> going to the gym now, see you at around 2 oclock
<+KN-ES> take care
i like the volatility
dax is a nice insrument for scalping
<+rickf> sorry had to nuke lunch and flip landury12:46

back
<+KN-ES> easliy can gain 5-15 ticks
and if its trending then.....its a huge plus
<+rep1acs> yeah
<+KN-ES> i think i got 132 points in one trade....
<+rep1acs> i occassionally check the charts
<+rickf> i find dax great leading indicator for es12:47
<+KN-ES> :)
<+rickf> in the us am session
<+rep1acs> if u get in the right trend..wowwwwwwwww

=)
<+rickf> :)
<+KN-ES> es is very very very very slow compare to dax
<+rickf> penchant for understatement, you have
:)
<+rep1acs> i dont trade us stock indices...too slow..
<+KN-ES> sorry rickf12:48
:)
<+rickf> hehe

tho star made the shift to the nq, perhaps he sees somethign there we dont :)12:49

when i got here he was a 'star' es trader as i recall :)
<+KN-ES> i tried 15 contracts once. got filled in 15 different places :(
<+rickf> wow
<+KN-ES> in es, 40+- contracts get filled without any problem12:50
<+rickf> did that virtually a few times just "for fun" -- we can all aspire to that level of greatness
<+KN-ES> well, if you ask, its way too easy if you have more contracts12:51
if i start trading now with 1 contracts, i m sure i wont survive even a day
<+rickf> problem imo with trading large lots is this --12:52
<+Flex> I can trade FDAX on Eurex but i think it stops trading at 1100ET 17:00 local
<Bear> hello..i bought the 3 strategies from a while but i still have some difficulty in understanding it...maybe here i can learn something...do u trade forex here???
<+rickf> when i did that virtually (30-40 es contracts) i would see action in my favor, proclaim "wow!" and exit based only on the dollar amount
not on my strategy12:53
<+Flex> Bear I just bought STR olast weekend, I am a total rookie but we can try to learn together if you like
<+KN-ES> <Flex> I can trade FDAX on Eurex but i think it stops trading at 1100ET 17:00 local ............. yes Flex...... then it goes cash
<+Flex> so you stop trading it before 11:00am KN ?12:54
<+KN-ES> i stop trading by 12
<+Flex> ok
<+rickf> i sop using it as an 'indicator' by 12 as well
<+Bear> flex..yeah sure..but i still dont understand the WRB..its so complicated..a lot of ideas

flex..the other strategies are based on WRB i guess12:55
<+Flex> Bear I started WRB as well
WRB is the most important part
the fundamentals
the basement
<+Bear> flex..that what i hope to understand it here
<+rep1acs> KN do u trade dj euro stoxx?12:56
<+Flex> we will :)
<+KN-ES> rickf, you will have to start with 1 contracts.........then add 1 more at a time in each 2/3 weeks
may help
<+Bear> flex..i just trade forex currencies...you?
<+Flex> Bear I am just trying to learn to trade something12:57
<+KN-ES> rep1ace, no i dont trade but follow stoxx 50.
<+rickf> oh i am comfy running 8 now -- but when i did the big lots "just to see" I was in a whole 'nother league....again, working up to that, used to run 4
<+Bear> flex..hope u will
<+KN-ES> cool
<+rep1acs> KN is it a bit slower than dax?12:58
<+Flex> I traded Forex but mainly to hedge my usd account because in the last 18 months USD behaved worse than romanian Leu
<+KN-ES> to me, yes
<+Bear> at what time Mr. Niha comes to this room..anyone knows ??
<+rickf> i do occsional fx trades pre-market, but it's nothing planned, usually momentum scalps based on news

usually close them out by 11AM
<+Flex> now I am studying STR to trade Index Futures, ES, YM12:59
<+KN-ES> but stoxx is very very volatile and luquid...... you shouldnt have any problem trading
<+Bear> these strategies are for every market ?13:00
<+Flex> for markets listed in WRB pages let me check...
<+KN-ES> rep1ace: you may follow ftse if you are planning to trade stoxx....... they follow each other close13:01
<+Bear> flex..i red on the forum that can be on any market...but Niha said that they dont have the time to trade all markets13:02
<+Flex> let's say that Niha "guarantees" these strategies for markets they have already tested such as futures FX and so on13:03
