Today's WRB Analysis: Most traders view support/resistance via trend lines (horizontal or slopes).

The problem with a trend line methodology for s/r levels is that the market doesn't respect a single price as a variable to determine shifts in supply and demand.

Instead, the market likes to probe price area zones until a shift in supply/demand occurs with WRBs, long shadows or contracting volatility.

Now take a look at your Russell 2000 Emini ER2 futures 2min chart and 15min chart to correlate the below comments about my p.m. trades.

Next, take a look at the below chat log beginning around 1535hr (3:35pm est) and you'll see my first short position in the p.m. trading session that's followed by two more short positions on increasing position size.

Also, I should have been short above the 820.00 price area anywhere between 820.00 - 820.50 because this is where the volatility was contracting within a key s/r zone. The reason why I didn't short that s/r zone was because I was away from the computer and I didn't set my audio price alerts properly to tell me when price had enter that s/r zone.

Further, although my short positions were basically price chasers, I still had a nice profit target s/r zone between 816.20 - 816.80 for my remainders in the last trade of the day that also netted my profit target goal for today's price action (> $1,000).

In fact, I was able to cover below that s/r zone after volatility contracted after that Dark WRB (4pm est).

The point with the above is that regardless if its support or resistance, contracting volatility is one particular hint (a big hint) that there will be a big shift in supply demand (see 2min chart of ER2) and pattern signals will soon appear (15min chart had my pattern signal).

Note: I don't post charts because I want you to open your own charts to correlate my comments to your own charts so that you'll have more of a chance to understand the price action via having to review your own charts.

General Strategy Info: Currently, I'm exclusively trading the Russell 2000 Emini ER2 futures even though my strategies are applicable and profitable on all the trading instruments listed towards the bottom of this webpage along with my past trade journals showing consistent profits in other trading instruments prior to exclusively trading Emini Futures ER2.

In addition, I use a rule based (no subjectivity) methodology via my best strategies involving WRB Analysis. However, there are other key variables integrated with WRB Analysis that involves simple concepts of intermarket analysis, market seasonal tendencies, volatility analysis, support/resistance zones and position size management along with custom Japanese Candlestick patterns to complete my trading plan that results in consistent profits.

With that said, today's trade posting chat log is below and it contains all my trades that were posted in realtime along with the trades of other members of #FuturesTrades. Also, I use the user name NihabaAshi in the below trade posting chat log.

<grabthemoney55> whats a good stop loss area for the er?09:41
<NihabaAshi> The best stop in my opinion is not "fixed" and is one based upon the "current" price action.09:42
Thus, your stop/loss protection "should be" different from one trade to the next trade because the price action is different from one trade to the next trade.
<szubaark>  Shorts NQ @ 1894.50 «« paper »» 09:43
<NihabaAshi> Simply, using FIXED stops or FIXED profit targets is to say that the price action never changes and that's far from the truth and is counter-productive.

<NihabaAshi>  Lurking Rule Warning -> If you don't post your trades or don't participate in the market conversations...you will be "KICKED" from #FuturesTrades unless you have "permission to be exempt" from posting.11:03
<pat255> voltality incraesing a bit more11:04
<NihabaAshi> Just as important, if your not meeting your trading goals...you should be the last person that wants to be lurking in #FuturesTrades because lurkers don't ask questions and don't get answers.11:05
<intowin> my account goes live Monday. I am hoping to lurk until then. Thanks11:06
<grabthemoney55> i was well in the green but that last shady price action at 10:50 put me 4 ticks in the red11:07

so we'll see what the day brings
<NihabaAshi> However, if your having private conversations with others in the room...
Just let me know so I can exempt you from the "no lurking rule".
<intowin> 819 on er looks key for upside11:08
<NihabaAshi> A few in here are exempt because the talk about their trades or the markets with me in private.
intowin...thanks for the info and I'll keep that in mind.
I'm already at a WRB profit target 2 level for this Long position...11:10
My goal is to exit at a WRB pt3 or higher.
ER2 volatility contracting again...I'm expecting a volatility spike here soon.11:12
Hopefully, in the direction of my trade and gives me a WRB pt3 price level.
<Brutus> 1200/1600 May Philadelphia Fed Business Index 5.0 0.211:16
<NihabaAshi> Also, I have in the plans that one of the requirements is that traders post their "broker profit/loss statement" without the private stuff (its blacken out).11:19
A few in here are already doing it here or elsewhere.11:20
However, it doesn't matter if its real money, simulator or a mixture of both...statements must be posted and will be a requirement in the future.11:21
I already post my statement in my journal at the link I posted earlier.
<pat255> niha u have to import the thing in excel & then do it i suppose?11:23
<NihabaAshi> I'm just waiting for the room to reach about 35 regular members because I know that P/L STatement requirement will get discourage about 1/2 from showing up because they will think its unecessary eventhough I think its needed to "force participation".
Pat...there's many ways of doing it.
<pat255> k...yes excel file u can import &then remove some & post11:24
<NihabaAshi> I myself just take a quick screenshot of my statement...not importing.
* lesAwway is now known as les

<les> yes i think thats easiest
<NihabaAshi> Regardless if you import or whatever...set it up so that its "easier for you to do".
<les> then just put statement on a website and post url11:25
jperl does that eavery day instead of posting live trades
<NihabaAshi> My is a little complicated because I have private info with it.

Thus, I have to take a few minutes to blacken out stuff I don't want anybody to see.

For example...11:26

so is it ok to post p&l as points?
<NihabaAshi> Sure.
<les> ok, can do that ok
<NihabaAshi> I actually prefer points but most want to see the Dollar value :)11:29

<NihabaAshi> That's a problem is its in a different currency.
<eminitrader> looks like nq may oull the mrkt down...

<NihabaAshi> Instead of telling them its points...I replied that $3.40 can buy a decent burger at burger king.
<les> can also exclude commish so as not to confuse anyone
<eminitrader> niha any way around this posting of p/l ?
<les> no burgers for me then
<Brutus> But is ES bullishness asserts itself again the 1st hr BO trade is vaild11:34
<NihabaAshi> I have two statements...one without the commish and one with the commish.
<eminitrader> i mean is posting live trades in this forum not good enough ?
<NihabaAshi> One with the commish looks messy and confusing.
<eminitrader> true B ,,but i wld loke some followup on the nq
<NihabaAshi> eminitrader...its good enough but too many are violating the "no lurking rule".
<grabthemoney55> what if today we are embarassed of our P&L11:35
<eminitrader> k...so this is for those that make no posts ? it is either post here or the p'l ?
<NihabaAshi> grab...that's easy...just say the day sucks and you don't want to post a statement.
<les> u can address yr embarrasment maybe by more participation and so get it well in the balck11:36
<NihabaAshi> That comment along tells me your participating in the conversations :)
<les> :)
<eminitrader> :))
<grabthemoney55> well i wish i had something better to report
<les> well me too
<grabthemoney55> my last trade killed me
<les> sometimes it looks great, then falls back
thats when i learn the most11:37
<pat255> niha i dont trade full time hope it does not affect ...
<szubaark> May has been real tough for me.. losing almost every frikin day.. go figure :(
<grabthemoney55> im not that bad off only four ticks in the red and the day is still young
<les>  Long ER2 @ 817.5
<Brutus> grab take the snap shot when in the black, just in case :))
<NihabaAshi> My personal opinion is that posting statements do no "improve discipline nor trading results".
<les> nice one Brutus :)11:38
<NihabaAshi> I just want to use it to know that some in here are "still alive".
:)
<les> niha..
<pat255> lol ...yes niha we are ...
<eminitrader> true szu ...not in a loss but certainly not making as much as in the previous months of this yr..
<les> actually i died long ago according to my daughter
<NihabaAshi> You can also send statements to me via "private message" if you don't want others to see it.

However, if you send me something where your making 20k per day...11:39

I may steal it and claim it as my own :)
<les> ok niha
i might do that
but will be in rupees or yen
<NihabaAshi> :)

That's a jok because someone did that to me.11:40
<les> raelly?
<NihabaAshi> Yeah...I use to post my statements at Dacharts.com

I stopped doing it and started posting it at my own site because of that problem.11:41

Once again, if your already posting your statement elsewhere...

Just let me know because I know its a hassle to be posting a statement multiple times at different locations.11:42

<ItalianSharp> jeees...YM making record highs again14:52
the Dow has closed up in 30 of its last 38 days or something like that
and this is the 9th record high of this month
part of recent trading strategy is that whenever the DOW is within 20-30 ticks from a new high, i aint taking any short trade14:53
you just can't short this market right now unless it's clearly falling
NQ and ER looked kinda weak...and yet the Dow managed once again to carry all other eminis to new highs14:54
