#FuturesTrades May 1st Tuesday 2007 Trade Log

#FuturesTrades is a private and free realtime trading posting chat room on the IRC Othernet server that allows traders from all over the world to communicate.

Click here for the instructions on gaining access to #FuturesTrades to be among profitable traders that fulltime or part-time as day traders, swing traders or position traders.

In addition, trades posted by members of #FuturesTrades in the below trade post chat log are by traders that do not have access to TheStrategyLab.com strategies except for NihabaAshi.

Therefore, do not use #FuturesTrades to judge the merits of TheStrategyLab.com strategies due to the fact that members of #FuturesTrades are using their own trade methodology.

Fee-based clients of TheStrategyLab.com strategies use the private IRC rooms called #TheStrategyLab, #SwingTradingTSL or their own private chat room to post their trades with commentary.

Further, you'll find below the #FuturesTrades chat room text log of realtime trades (real money and simulator) to be timestamp to help correlate the trades with your charts and the is eastern standard time (est).

Also, below NihabaAshi's trading blog like comments, you can read the time stamped trades (prices, entries, exits et cetera) and market discussions that sometimes contains trading tips or insights that are more useful than what you will see at any other futures blog or chat room.

Trading Blog Below is not your traditional trader's blog in the usual blog format. However, you will find informative commentary on a few occasions as time permits and such will contain trading tips that should help your trading as I attempt to sum up my thoughts for the trading day.

Sell in May?

Profit/Loss Statement

I suspected with most of the European markets on a holiday that today's volatility would be low. However, although it was low, it was good enough to produce some good price movement and good trade opportunities for those traders that were patient.

Also, this will be a key month of trading due to the fact that many pro traders are expecting May to under perform April's performance. Yet, I still can't figure out where this opinion is coming from considering its not supported by any technical analysis nor market seasonal tendency (cycle).

Simply, don't trade blindly and stick to your normal trading plan.

It's what I plan to do regardless if May goes up or down.

As for my trading today, I was very tired (sleepless night due to a sleepless toddler) and luckily I made the bulk of my profits before taking a long break from the market.

However, when I returned to trading in the afternoon trading session, I had two consecutive late entries and decided it was best to call it quits for the day.

Key News of the Day

Commentary by M.A. Perry (a.k.a. NihabaAshi)
intradaystrategies@yahoo.com

Note: Position Size Management is very important in my trading and my position size varies from one trading day to the next trading day or from one trade to the next trade. Also, I'm currently exclusively trading the Russell 2000 Emini ER2 futures even though my strategies are applicable and profitable on all the trading instruments listed towards the bottom of this webpage along with my past trade journals showing consistent profits in other trading instruments prior to exclusively trading ER2.

Further, I can switch and trade any trading instrument that's listed below at the bottom of this webpage for any trader that request such mainly because I do a lot of intermarket analysis while trading ER2.

However, if you want to see up-to-date pattern signals in other trading instruments...click here.

Traders Accounting

As traders we must treat our trading like a business if we are to succeed as traders and as a business. Therefore, waiting till the last few weeks March to prepare for April's taxes is not good for your trading and could put extra stress on your trading during tax month or the months that follow if your one of those traders that filed an extension.. Therefore, its best to be on top of your taxes throughout the year and Traders Accounting is a great resource for such especially if you want to prevent penalties or an audit several years from now.

<RussellDaytrade> excellent pa again today, I have tow targets working...the first smaller is 817.5 or so,with about 8-10 remaining, the second is 814.8, with about 45 remaining. i rate the first as good odds of fulfillemnt, and the second as not so good odds, based on level of percieved oversoldness.

<RussellDaytrade> I am most likely doen for day, missed getting shorts on into that delicious spike...may get long again if it goes into the 'dry squirts' mode

<Brutus> Nice RD. Looking at the AM trades you were down about 1.1k b4 the last buy. Question is when the heat is on do you Add, hold, fold or freeze, when the money is on the line :))15:53
<RussellDaytrade> fuck if I know B, I think with enuf bullets in the acct's, and a reasonable scale-in rate, and a reasonable success at identifying my setups, along with a fairly good mkt feel, I can make it work. :)15:55
<Brutus> Only one way to find out, any plans ?15:57
<RussellDaytrade> beleive it or not, that was a reasonable ammount to be down...had had that last buy in place, and hadn't expected it to fill, mkt was climbing, I was off taking daughter to school, and had sells in place above mkt, expecting thwey would fill, in part at least...
got back just as mkt was lifting, up a buck from lows, and happy I gotr that last fill, made a big difference15:58
<Brutus> OK so you are showing consistant sim profits right, so I'm asking what are your plans, a timeline for targets?16:00
<RussellDaytrade> making inquiries...think anyone will put an 'ole dog' like me to work trading their capital? :)...
yes, good question, trying to sort that out, you'll be the first to know.16:01
the second to know. :)
<Brutus> Emotions are the biggest factor RD and hardest thing to master imo, so thats what you need to sim :)16:04
<RussellDaytrade> btw B, I am, as part and parcel of my current and existing, and prevalent trading style and methods, coming to accept, more and more, that I amy be, and in fact usually will be, incorrect, on my initial entries. it's being also correct, in the final analysis, that I am after. I also believe, and acknowledge, and view as a good thing, that I have much room for improvements16:07
In a round-about way B, I beginning to think that an aspect of sim trades will help to dampen emotions, somewaht. My hope is to ultimately just do the same things, fairly consistently as I am now, with perhaps improving efficiency, but in general similar.16:09
<NihabaAshi_away> See all tomorrow and it was another good trading day.16:17
<RussellDaytrade> good one everyone16:18
