pat255...I didn't want to dump that problematic Short until I got a Long signal to reverse the position. 11:29

That Long signal appearred at 772.60 and I was able to reverse it from a Short into a Long @ 772.80 11:30

My exit out of the Long position was at a WRB pt1 level.

If I don't get that other trade signal...

That's when my stops get hit for anywhere between -0.7 to -2.00 11:33

Reversal Trading

Someone from EliteTrader.com recently asked me if I was a reversal trader. I replied by saying that I don't make the mistake of trying to apply one trading style to all market conditions because that's the fastest route to draw downs (consistent losses) periods.

Instead, I prefer to be more diversified in my market approach via being a trader that trades trend continuation patterns, reversal patterns, divergence patterns and counter-trend patterns.

However, if I decide to trade a counter-trend signal...I'll reduce my position size to control the increased risk exposure.

Don't misunderstand...some traders can be consistently profitable via their one dimensional approach to the markets. However, their method is so good that it knows when to get them in the market and knows when to keep them out of the market.

Simply, a good reversal strategy will not give trade signals during trend conditions. Whereas in comparison, a poorly designed reversal strategy will give trade signals during trend conditions and experience consistent losses during trends.

Early today I was a reversal trader and had I traded the afternoon trading session I would have gotten bearish continuation pattern signals.
