#FuturesTrades March 22nd Thursday 2007 Trade Log

#FuturesTrades is a private and free realtime trading posting chat room on the IRC Othernet server that allows traders from all over the world to communicate.

Click here for the instructions on gaining access to #FuturesTrades.

In addition, trades posted by members of #FuturesTrades in the below trade post chat log are by traders that do not have access to TheStrategyLab.com strategies except for NihabaAshi.

Fee-based clients of TheStrategyLab.com strategies use the private IRC rooms called #TheStrategyLab and #SwingTradingTSL.

Further, you'll find below the chat room time stamped text log of realtime trades (real money and simulator) that were posted by full-time, part-time traders from around the world and the timestamp is eastern standard time (est).

Also, below NihabaAshi's trading blog like comments, you can read the time stamped trades (prices, entries, exits et cetera) and market discussions that sometimes contains trading tips or insights that are more useful than what you will see at any other futures blog or chat room.

Trading Blog Below is not your traditional trader's blog in the usual blog format. However, you will find informative commentary on a few occasions as time permits and such will contain trading tips that should help your trading as I attempt to sum up my thoughts for the trading day.

Key Market Event Tendencies

Profit/Loss Statement

The FOMC rate announcement brings many profitable trading opportunities even if you choose not to trade on the FOMC day itself.

These profitable opportunities involves market seasonal tendencies and intraday market tendencies that have been repetitive for many years.

However, to discover these repetitive price actions your going to need to have access to historical price data of your trading instrument and access to historical FOMC info for correlating with your charts.

The above link, when you change the numbers in the url, will give you data going back to January 2005.

I have my own data that has been accumulated since the mid 1990's...enough data to know when to increase my position size and when to decrease my position size as I did today as shown in the chat log below.

However, I'm going to give you a big hint...examine and do statistical analysis on the three day price action before the FOMC announcement and three day's of price action that occurs after the FOMC announcement on all the back data you can find.

Eventually I plan on offering a new product for TheStrategyLab.com that involves particular key market events in which I'll give all the data, statistical work, market tendencies developed from my research and how to trade it along with position size management information.

Anyways, I increased my position size above my normal large size position in my first Short position and then doubled the position size in my second Short position.

Later in the p.m. trading session I dropped my position size dramatically to just a few contracts.

Note: Each month there are a few trading days that we consider to produce big price movement as the result of other key trading instruments in its own market or within other markets (intermarket analysis).

You can view the charts and a few clues that's associated with the key price action at our key market archives.

Traders Accounting

As traders we must treat our trading like a business if we are to succeed as traders and as a business. Therefore, waiting till the last few weeks March to prepare for April's taxes is not good for your trading and could put extra stress on your trading during tax month or the months that follow if your one of those traders that filed an extension.. Therefore, its best to be on top of your taxes throughout the year and Traders Accounting is a great resource for such especially if you want to prevent penalties or an audit several years from now.

<RussellDaytrade> i like the bearish in the morning portion, the morning session has an hour - to - two remaining, perhaps it exhibits more giveback. my t = 809.0811:01
actually, if i use the 818.7 of the pre-open, the t = 810.52, which was fulfilled. in which case, its more likely it may go up.11:05
<Brutus>  Exited ES Long @ 1441 --> - 3 «« paper »» 11:07
