#FuturesTrades January 29th Monday 2007 Trade Log

#FuturesTrades is a private and free realtime trading posting chat room on the IRC Othernet server that allows traders from all over the world to communicate.

Click here for the instructions on gaining access to #FuturesTrades.

In addition, trades posted by members of #FuturesTrades in the below trade post chat log are by traders that do not have access to TheStrategyLab.com strategies except for NihabaAshi.

Fee-based clients of TheStrategyLab.com strategies use the private IRC rooms called #TheStrategyLab and #SwingTradingTSL.

Further, you'll find below the chat room time stamped text log of realtime trades (real money and simulator) that were posted by full-time, part-time traders from around the world and the timestamp is eastern standard time (est).

Also, below NihabaAshi's trading blog like comments, you can read the time stamped trades (prices, entries, exits et cetera) and market discussions that sometimes contains trading tips or insights that are more useful than what you will see at any other futures blog or chat room.

Trading Blog Below is not your traditional trader's blog in the usual blog format. However, you will find informative commentary on a few occasions as time permits and such will contain trading tips that should help your trading as I attempt to sum up my thoughts for the trading day.

Trading the Open

Profit/Loss Statement

Trading the Open is usually the most difficult trading duration because most traders approach it without it the same way they do any other trading period of the day.

I won't discuss the specifics of my primary methodology involving WRB Analysis via the Swing Trading Report (STR) other than to say that I get a lot of help in Trading the Open via the following:

* Eurex Futures DAX and Euronext Futures CAC40

* Advance Decline Lines

* WRBs (wide range bodies)

* Market Seasonal Tendencies (cycles)

* Price Reaction to Pending Key Economic Reports

In fact, my trading has improved tremendously because I'm using all the above well together.

Today's results (real money and simulator trading) shown above are that of NihabaAshi only. To see his total accumulated points for the month of January...click here. To see results for the months of 2007 and prior years...click here.

Commentary by M.A. Perry (a.k.a. NihabaAshi)
intradaystrategies@yahoo.com

Note: Each month there are a few trading days that we consider to involve interconnecting key price action of different markets and such is represented by a particular type of price action from one of the key markets. You can view the charts and their clues that's associated with the key price action at our key market archives.

<RussellDaytrade> whats your preferred trade size EM?12:21

also curious waht you based the long entry upon?
<eminitrader> during chops 2-3 RD...but normally 5 - 10 ....and upto 20 ...twice or thrice a month12:22
read ur comment RD ...new lows may be possible...but my charts didn't show me that...just was a supp/res trade with a 4 tick stop12:23
<RussellDaytrade> thats a fair position size, from where i sit... so you went long expecting a retest of sorts within chop, etc... that was my second guess, ie, an entry with a closely defined stop. i'd say you extracted the profit well.12:25

my intraday trade may now well be a swing trade, but i am tempering any notions to add shorts, prefer to keep risk exposure down with smaller size, even as i see short trades setting up. some variation on money management...12:28

this trade logging is presenting new data every day, for example, today, it becomes apparent that, even if this trade comes back to whole, and it is a BE or better, i still potentially lose...12:29

to date, have had a running positive daily average, (despite those awful DD's) of 275. for math's sake, lets say i am stuck in a position that takes 2 days to work out, even if i am whole in 2 days, i have still potentially lost the averaged expectancy, approximately. yet another argument for quick and small losses.12:33
* WBAT is now known as WannaBeBOS12:38
<eminitrader> got disconnected earlier
<RussellDaytrade> 13:16 t-time has just expired, however, targets reset from new higher high, which targets are 796 at 13:58.13:24
if this this hangs up here for a good while, when down targets begin to fulfill, they'll likely surpass.13:25
<eminitrader> yes RDif it breaks 796 ...then possile change in trend13:28
<RussellDaytrade> any guesses as to whether 800 will be pierced on this run, (the main run i mean, from 782)?13:31
<X>  #FuturesTrades Info -> Chat room for realtime trade posting by traders of Emini Futures (ER2, ES, NQ, YM), EuroFX Futures (EC), Eurex Derivatives (DAX, ESTX50), Euronext Futures (FTSE100, CAC40), Treasury Futures (ZF, ZN, ZB), NYMEX Futures (CL, NG, HO, QM) and Exchange Traded Funds (DIA, GLD, IWM, OIH, QQQQ, SPY)13:32
<eminitrader> 799-800 key res ...if it does then cld be the continuation of the bull mrkt
<RussellDaytrade> i'm inclined to think it will not be, but i see my ealier call and trade from this am were off, so i will allow that my read may be off at the moment.13:33
<eminitrader> i'm talking longer term RD ...781 cld be the key support for this run...if it breaks 80013:34
778-781 range13:35
for day trades there r always going to be pullbacks
<RussellDaytrade> yes, its been rejected many times at near these levels, if it breaks above, could self-perpetuate for a a fair move up, in a rapid fashion.13:36
<eminitrader> yep...very true that was my piont
the other key is that other indices r also lining up..in similar fashion13:37
guess we'll know this week13:38
Long ES @ 1429.75 13:41
<RussellDaytrade> maybe it spilts the dif, the er i mean, and revisits the midpoint od the approx range between highs and lows of past 2 months, ie, equvalent to approx 790-792 or so, over next day-day and a half.13:43

i just realize i misdrew my target on chart, where it was supposed to be darwn at 796, i instaed drew it at 795.5, not that big a deal or difference, but i figure it may mean something, like an inner sense or soimething13:45
<eminitrader>  Long ES @ 1428.25 -> Add 13:46
Exited all ES Long @ 1427.25 --> - 3.5 13:54
<RussellDaytrade> that earleir call, of 794.3 even as it looked like it was way off, only just an hour ago, now looks like its coming home to roost. it about 20 minutes late, and a half buck off...oops, just hit, but it has the distinct appearance on my chart of actually being fulkfilled, whaddya know.

hmmm,maybe we get that new LOD yet.13:55
<ItalianSharp> anyone knows the reason of this selloff?
<eminitrader> just technicals i guess13:56
<RussellDaytrade> i persoanlly think its over falck from the geoploitical, i may be looking to far out and anticipating too early, as usual.13:57
flack / fallout, etc
<ItalianSharp> ER can easily go as far down as 79213:58
<eminitrader> prolly bounce from here 796.50 -79.40 ,,,cld be a nice area for quick sell scalp13:59
79.40 = 797.4014:00
whoa ...
<ItalianSharp> i cant believe its only technicals that triggered this selloff...thereis gotta be more than that
<eminitrader> looks like this is surely on some news
<RussellDaytrade> doesn't appear to be near any shelf of support EM14:01
<eminitrader> prolly right rd
<ItalianSharp> RD: i think 792.20 could be a good area for a bounceback14:02
<RussellDaytrade> just a guess, you may be right in a rapid bounce too, etc. if spikes down one more, i'm closing my earlier dog of a trade, to help teach me, etc, (and rduce risk, try for better entry.14:03
Covered all ER2 Short @ 792.4 --> - 1.4 «« paper »»
<ItalianSharp> here we are...792.20 just touched

this is major support
<RussellDaytrade> fkit, that was a godsend
<eminitrader> :))14:04
<ItalianSharp> if it breaks this support, well...this thing is falling like a knife...lol
<eminitrader> rarely happens when trading live
<RussellDaytrade> thatnks ole tiger, i owe you another
<ItalianSharp> 792.20-791.50 is support14:05

i cant find any news causing this havoc in the markets

something must have leaked out from the fed i guess
<eminitrader> lets for get the why ...and get ready for the next trade guys14:06
<ItalianSharp> yep

its all in the charts anyways
<eminitrader> lol..nice one14:07
<ItalianSharp> well, my lucky call turns out to have produced a small bounce...BEGINNER'S LUCK14:08
<RussellDaytrade> http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q277/ RussellDaytrade2/?action=view&current=er 1-29-07rttt.jpg14:10
thats a pic of targets i've drawn so far today..14:11
<eminitrader>  Long ES @ 1424.75
<RussellDaytrade> i think my window of 'clairvoyance' is coming to a close for the day. gonna give it a rest, and let it recharge at a natural pace. overall, my feeling is lower.14:12
in case anyones wanting tolong them, i have yup tagerts of 795.6 in approx anpther 40 minutes14:20
late call on that

that first spike up usually satisfies MY TRADE TARGETS, as sepaerate and distinct from setup targets, ie, first buck and a half or so.14:23

Needs to complete in the next 15 mins14:39
Above 1426.25 call is wrong14:40
<RussellDaytrade> didn't get it typed out fast enough, but, if this is going to go into t it's about the point when it 'usually' begins to 'race' into t.14:41

with that volume spike, it'll likely carry a bit higher in a few minutes, still got about 5-6 minutes left, buckin a headwind, though, to be sure.14:43
